Thanks for reply.

New WordPress 6.0 and WPML 4.5.7 have been released.
Are you going to refresh help pages about WPML?
Any changes for those changes?

Hello,

A multilingual website usually requires a translation plugin. You can check our guide from here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/

When I deactivate everything except tagdiv and WPML pagination is not working.

Same on the tags page but it works on search pages even when everything is activated.

Hello!

Please note that Transposh plugin is not tested with our theme and we can not provide support for untested plugins.
We recommend WPML plugin for translations: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/

Thank you for understanding!

Hello!

Some texts can be translated from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Translations -> Translations. Search about the word you need to change and replace the word from the right side:: https://prnt.sc/Vaj0AMCRm2fy

Hi

We are using Newspaper theme for our site and Mobile Theme/AMP is activated on full AMP mode. Site footer looks normal on desktop and mobile (when it’s not accessed from Google SERP) but AMP version of the footer shows “ABOUT US” and “FOLLOW US” in English and we could not find a way to change them.

We are not using any translation plugins (such as WPML). How can we remove those titles from the AMP footer?

Hello.
Thank you for the reply, although it is not useful. If it actually was the same as you suggest, this support topic would not exist. This is why I posted the link to the documentation and the screenshot, to show that it is NOT the same.

Back to the problem now…
Cloud templates are already set to TRANSLATABLE in WPML Settings (as in documentation step 1): https://snipboard.io/CeafwI.jpg
There are already cloud templates in Language1 which are working fine: https://snipboard.io/ecQ5sW.jpg but there is no button to add a translation to the templates, as shown in the documentation.
When I switch to Language2 there are no templates at all: https://snipboard.io/D5W8ho.jpg

We cannot figure out how to translate the Cloud Templates. This is what we read on the documentation https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/ but this is what we see on the actual theme https://snipboard.io/ecQ5sW.jpg. Most probably the documentation is about an older version of the theme. How is it possible to translate the footer template?

Hello.

We are facing the following issues with this theme and WPML Advanced Translation Editor (ATE for short).

1. Element: Text with title
The custom title of the header does not appear at all in ATE. Here are 2 screenshots:
https://snipboard.io/bB3Ku2.jpg
https://snipboard.io/BKyA3f.jpg

2. Texts appear twice in ATE.
Imagine you have a page with heading1, paragraph1, heading2, paragraph2. In ATE we see the following for translation: paragraph1, paragraph2, paragraph1, paragraph2 (headings are not there for translation due to bug 1 above).

Due to the above bugs, it is impossible to use WPML ATE to translate the pages 🙁 The only “solution” seems to be to duplicate the page, mark it as language B and translate inside the page. Which as you can imagine is PITA to keep all the formatting, links, etc intact >.< Though we have not tried it yet to see if that might have issues as well.

Looking at WPML forum, I see there are other people complaining from last year https://wpml.org/forums/topic/no-tagdiv-headings-appear-in-the-advanced-translator/ I understand that it might be that WPML ATE is not compatible with this theme but that does not change the fact that those two pieces of software cannot work together efficiently, so none of them should be advertised as compatible to the other. Unless there is a fix, which I really hope exists and this is why I am posting this.

Newspaper Theme Version 11.4.2
WordPress Version 5.9.3

PS The search function of this forum spits out results without any specific order (e.g. per topic) which makes it really difficult to find any useful information. This is just a side note TWIMC and not the main topic.

Hi,

I’m working on a wp website using the following versions:

Wordpress -> 5.9.3
Newspaper -> 11.4.3
WPML Multilingual CMS -> 4.5.4

When I try to duplicate a page (Homepage) generated by one of your prebuilt websites (Newsweek PRO), I’m getting the following error:

As you said in Newspaper’s plugin page, the WPML plugin is fully supported, so maybe this error is something you might fix.

Thanks

Hello!

Some texts can be translated from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Translations -> Translations.
We recommend WPML plugin for translations: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/

We have 3 options of mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates/design for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
You can choose to use which one is more affordable and useful for you.

If you want to use the mobile pages or the responsive version, please deactivate the Mobile Theme plugin.

Thank you!

Hi lucia116,
I think that WPML is not recognizing that modification. Usually this solution is using when you are not using multi-language website.
I think that a better solution for this will be to use a plugin to create your own login page and set a redirect to it, I think that it can be done with some plugins form here https://wpforms.com/how-to-create-a-custom-login-form-for-improved-site-branding/
Also, you can take a look to WPML options for the login:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-wordpress-login-and-registration-pages/
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translating-wordpress-login-and-registration-pages/

Thank you!

We have been using WPML and tagdiv for a long time. As I have mentioned, we had no problem translating cloud templates, including, single, category, menus, author etc..and setting them. Settings in the documentation you sent are already checked.

Please re-read my initial question. Mobile cloud templates do not apear in the dashboard. It’s only visibile in the single language tagdiv composer website manager; duplicating it there do not help it to appear in the dashboard

https://pasteboard.co/Ag6QKilpGNac.png

For the mobile; on the english home page, I imported a header and a footer, edited all the way, saved. However, I’d like to set the same template for the secondary language but I can’t find it anywhere to duplicate & edit. The mobile header template can only be edited and viewed on the mobile page -edith with-tagdiv composer. The imported footer is not even on the web site manager..

I
/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/login.php
in file
$users_can_register_tab = ‘ <span></span>‘ . __td(‘Join’, TD_THEME_NAME) . ‘‘;

I modified it like this.
It goes to https://domain.com/resister without any problems.
But with WPML the ?lang=ja parameter is gone.
Is it possible to make wpml parameters permanent?

I’m arranging mobile page templates for our multilanguage site. For the language adaption; I duplicate the cloud template that I want, change name and url and connect translations with WPML. It works very fine

However, I’d like to set the same template for the secondary language but I can’t find it anywhere to duplicate & edit. Hello,

While with WPML we had some better results, we still ended up losing translations and had issues with the overall setup.

We tried to make the setup with Polylang, but the cloud templates simply do not work when the plugin is activated. From what I see on other topics, seems cloud templates are not ideal for multi-language setups. Is there a workaround to make the theme work with Polylang?

Hi greenleads_bg,
I just made a test using the WPML and the settings from our documentation https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/ and for me it seems to look normal.
Please make sure that all settings are set like in our guide and in case that the problem persist, please let us know.
Thank you!

Hi There

Your solution works for only template switching not for membership status. We have to go one by one for each subscriber to disable YOAST or WPML settings.

what is your solution as SEO wise to fix this?

This issue should be considered in the next update I guess.
