Yes, we plan to add an option in the theme panel allowing you to completely remove google fonts and just use local fonts just as the new law suggests.

Please notice that the menu was changed as a whole. It was re-created in 7.8 from the bottom up. We will look into this and see if we find a solution to get the old design of the new code for people who prefer the previous version of the menu.
