Hi,

From what I see that image is here https://prnt.sc/yoSsJdo9RnE0 It is displayed in an ad box.

Please check from where the ad box is set to display the ad https://prnt.sc/Ye1YVoXl2Vhl and then check in the corresponding theme panel ad spot https://prnt.sc/oFKwRMvulZ2m The image must be coming from there.

Thank you!

Hi,

That’s not the AMP or the mobile theme version in your screenshot. That is the default responsive version. The mobile theme looks like this https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

If I check the website now on mobile, it looks fine https://prnt.sc/jpYD4-Xg_okz Also the mobile menu works fine https://prnt.sc/z50KdMW_WtVQ

Please mention more details about the issue, or how can I see it happening. I am sorry that there are issues with the theme. In most cases when there are issues with the images or the mobile menu, like in your screenshot, they are caused by other plugins.

Thank you!

Now I see the problem as well. Last time I checked the post content was displayed, but now it is not. Its not displayed in the mobile version and neither in the amp version. This is quite an unusual thing to happen.

I will take a closer look at it. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website. I will investigate the problem.

Thank you!

Most likely this will be taken care of in the next theme update. It will require adding the respective el=”next” and rel=”prev” into the theme code, for the pagination of the post loop.

In the meantime, if you cannot use the other types of pagination, and you want to make the modification for the numbered pagination, I could check how it can be done and you can do it on the website. Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

That will be fixed in a theme update. We fixed it for Newspaper in the recent update, and we will fix it for Newsmag as well, soon.

Hi,

That is the latest articles section, it is displayed at the bottom of the page when this page template is selected https://prnt.sc/Qfa58JtC3Q1K

If you want to customize it there are settings in the page edit screen in the backend. But there might be an issue (which will be fixed) causing the page settings to not appear if you edit the page with Gutenberg.
If that is the case, you could install the classic editor and edit the page with it, the page settings will appear in this case https://prnt.sc/ujy4UJNPd7k8 Then after you use the settings you can remove the classic editor plugin.

Or if you want to remove that latest articles section, you can switch to the default page template https://prnt.sc/-YrAZFCNg7ls

Thank you!

Simion C.

Hi,

That will require adding the rel=”next” and rel=”prev” on the pagination links. I will add this on our list and our developer team will most likely add it in the next theme update.

You could for the time being use a different kind of pagination for the category pages. Like the infinite load or infinite load with load more button https://prnt.sc/UyDGeLmJPGjs

Hi,

From what I see the post is displayed on mobile, with the mobile theme active https://prnt.sc/uple4KAqulHT There are however quite a few ads at the top of the post, and it requires scrolling down a bit to get to the post https://prnt.sc/vU6b2eN8BzB9 Other than that the post looks fine. Maybe you solved the problem already.

But in case I am misunderstanding, please let me know and I will check again.

Hi,

I’m very sorry for the delay.

The unique articles option is available for the Newsmag theme as well, should be there in the page settings section https://prnt.sc/y6BU_3ki1gxQ

However, if the page settings are not appearing when using Gutenberg to edit the page, I suggest installing the classic editor plugin and then editing the page with it https://prnt.sc/cfQoxIzv9jGA The settings should be there with the classic editor https://prnt.sc/lkystdh6LSN2 After using the setting you can remove the classic editor plugin.

In case there are any other issues, or if you have questions, please let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

I am testing this as well.

The guide mentioned here https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/regarding-adding-multiple-authors-on-newspaper-theme/ is for the post pages, not the modules that blocks use, or any other locations on the website.

So first I added the code in the child theme functions file https://prnt.sc/hTPNzhlfY7X0

I copied the files for post template 2, which I see you are using.
So these files from the composer https://prnt.sc/sYUozCJiLp19
Into the child theme via this path Newsmag-child/parts/single https://prnt.sc/uG_2Uqw4Fcae

I replaced the code in the single file https://prnt.sc/ICqKDs-XYUX6
And in the loop file https://prnt.sc/EJMd1roozXhb

I entered the CSS in the theme panel https://prnt.sc/7dwNgqXIkJKe

I installed the co authors plus plugin and set 2 authors https://prnt.sc/XduTPL7-Dycg

The result https://prnt.sc/iNwHwugnwHLB and https://prnt.sc/_CBidAgkxti6

It seems to work fine. If it doesn’t for you, maybe its not done correctly. Could you please doublecheck? Or if you want, we can take a look as well. You can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide access to the staging website. Let us know.

Hi,

So the templates are imported per language. Please note that they have to be set per language so they change when the language changes. So in the cloud templates dashboard you set the desired template for one language https://prnt.sc/LiDJgOU4Jaxu and then for the other https://prnt.sc/3-Ir6tMOvUhL

You do not need to set the header using the header manager. All that is needed is to set the templates per language in the cloud library dashboard.

The templates are set correctly, and they change by language. The only unusual thing I found was a code in the wordpress custom CSS https://prnt.sc/N1sUflwbQekN That code always made the website RTL, even on English. I’m not sure what its purpose was exactly, the website should not be RTL on English. I commented that code.

You can customize the templates with the composer further if you want. If there are more issues, please let us know and we will take a look.

As a note, please do not post login information in the topic, the topics are public and any forum member can see them. I have removed them.

Thank you!

Hi,

So while indexing a page through the rank math plugin, you are receiving a 500 error? Does this happen only when our theme is active? We are not aware of an issue in the current theme version that could cause such an issue. Without us knowing if there is such an issue caused by the theme and fix in in the next update, we will need to know all the details, how to recreate it, etc. I also suggest checking the error log on the server to see if there is more information about the issue.

If you want us to take a look, I suggest to send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website, also cPanel or FTP, and please mention how or where we can see the issue happening, so we can investigate the problem.

Thank you!

Hi,

Not sure from where Google is picking that URL, its nowhere in the page source. Normally the “?” is usually used in parameters, like tracking. But having it non its own like that is pretty unusual. Is there more information about it in the search console perhaps? Is it just for posts?

Thank you!

Hi,

WPML allows translating the whole page and everything in it. Basically you can create a page for each language, and simply change the block titles you mention.

For example, I have a page in English, with blocks in it – https://prnt.sc/w29R7nzz6_Vo
I translate the page – https://prnt.sc/K2BAozaOZbeF or duplicate it.
Maybe duplicating it would be best – https://prnt.sc/i-A8-UvU2mEY so you can change only what you want instead of building it again.
Then I edit the duplicate – https://prnt.sc/oHe8Ca36jSgp and change the block titles as needed, with the composer – https://prnt.sc/FztX1Wr3MpOEhttps://prnt.sc/qkMVPZ82hTcz
So each language has its own page. When the language is changed, the page is changed.

No need for using string translation to translate block titles, just duplicate the initial page for each language, edit them, and change the block titles with the composer.

You could try it this way. Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

I see my colleague Calin tried to help with this task. However, finding a solution for what you would like to do would be better handled by a developer. That is mostly because if its not done right, there can be issues. We provide custom work as well, and our developer team can most likely find a solution for it. If you are interested, please submit a request through this form https://tagdiv.com/submit-a-request/ and my colleagues will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi,

That is the theme version. Newsmag 3.2 was released about 8 years ago. Maybe it would be worth considering to update the theme if possible.

I would not advise making modifications directly in the theme stylesheet. These will be lost when updating the theme or reinstalling it. Instead it would be better to load the CSS you want in other ways. You can override CSS from the theme or add new code by using other methods.

I’m not sure, but I believe that the theme used to have a custom CSS section back then as well https://prnt.sc/8o8D1tSccpH1 Could you please check? Or you could add CSS in the wordpress customizer panel https://prnt.sc/8E0yUhbSt5Tm -> https://prnt.sc/JBxjRTC_OlMe or with a plugin. Or through a child theme.

But if you want to modify the stylesheet directly, that should be possible.

Let us know if we can help or if you have questions. Assuming the code is valid, maybe all it needs to see the changes is to clear the cache, and purge the CDN files if you use one. But I would still suggest not doing it that way, and instead add the code you want in a different way. Could you please mention what modifications you want to make, or what code you want to add?

Thank you!

Hi,

In similar cases I’ve seen such issues were caused by object caching, or security/firewall configuration. These can interfere with the theme panel saving process. We could take a look and try to help. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login. We will check as soon as possible.

Hi,

What kind of errors are you seeing exactly?

I see you’re doing some cleaning concerning the thumbnails. I can recommend this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ which has an option to remove the unused thumbs. It will create/keep the sizes which you have activate in the theme panel, and remove the rest of them. This should free up a lot of space, assuming you had all the theme thumbs active for a long period of time.

Actually to know which thumbs you are using, you could do it like this. Deactivate all the thumb sizes in the theme panel. Then browse the website, and note the sizes which will be displayed like so https://prnt.sc/L0MHsyYjZBvL Then activate just those.

Post template 3 uses the 681 X 0 size for the featured image. If you use this template, that size should be active.

Once you know which sizes are needed, then you can use the regenerate thumbs plugin. That would be all basically.

But if there are any errors, please mention a few more details.

Thank you!

Hi,

You could try it in a testing/staging install first. A copy of the website can be created with the duplicator plugin for example, or by any other means. Then you can remove the Newsmag theme and its plugins, and install the Newspaper theme and its plugins.

Then it depends on how you want to proceed. One way would be to install a Newspaper demo, which will provide a new homepage and the templates. Or you can import demo parts, they are all available in the cloud library https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All

Besides sharing a few blocks from the composer, they are different themes after all.

In terms of risks, not sure what to say. Be sure to move your ad codes, analytics codes, also check the SEO, set the widget sidebars. If you use a child theme perhaps, that will have to be remade, in case it is still needed. If you have other pages, check those as well after switching the themes, they may have to be rebuilt or adjusted.

Let me know if you have questions, we can discuss more.

Thank you!

Hi,

Are you referring to the featured images the post have? Normally each post should have a featured image. The image can be set like so – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-featured-image-or-video/

But if maybe you are referring to something else, please let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

That is possible. Post templates can be set per post as well. You can edit the post and then choose the template you want in the post edit screen, for example https://prnt.sc/jVHvsMHM-lOA Then update the post. Please try it. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thank you!

Hi,

In a previous similar case I investigated, the issue ended up being caused the super cache. But it was still unclear why it happened.

It may have been related to the compression option from the super cache, something like this https://hellboundbloggers.com/wp-super-cache-problem/13020/

We will take a look at this case as well, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website, admin login, also a link to this topic.

Thank you!

We are investigating this issue at this time. It would help us if we could analyze the respective plugin “wp-zexit”. If anyone can provide it, or is currently having issues caused by it and needs help, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and let us know.

Hi,

You mean on the links to the author pages. And I assume you want this for the whole website, and for all author links.

That would require making modifications in the theme files, which will be lost after a theme update. Instead of making modifications, I suggest using a code in the theme panel, that will add nofollow to all the links to author pages at once.

For example a code like this – https://prnt.sc/alZfIL4fHcrp
Will add nofollow on the author links – https://prnt.sc/7FRcBANZPwF-
The code is here – https://pastebin.com/yite2a5z

Another way would be to disable the author links, they can be disabled for the modules and for the post pages, in the theme panel. But if you still want to display them, then please try the first solution.

Thank you!
