The Newsletter element provides options to set a title, description, disclaimer and some other details. The actual embed code, meaning the form, can be configured as you wish when creating the form, based on the form provider capabilities.
The Newsletter is simply a container where you can enter the form code.

The themes are similar in core but there are differences between them as well. There were meant to be different themes after all.
There are no plans as far as I know to change how the responsive version of the big grids look like on mobile in either themes.

@Ludonoticias That could be the case, there are plans to begin testing with autooptimize plugin but I could not say for sure when they will begin. It could be a setting in the plugin such as you mention that is causing the issues.

You could change the thumbnail used by the AMP related articles, if this is needed. It will require you to modify the module used for that section

That topic is referring to the AMP version of the post. The thumbnails will be created from the featured image you set for the post. You could set a featured image for the posts, then select a post template that does not show the featured image in the post page (template 5 or 12).
That way you can start the posts with an image of your choosing in the post content, and have a different thumbnail for the post.

I have tried the search pagination in the live theme demo, which uses the latest theme version

There is no problem with it from what I can see. I have tested locally as well.
That issue could be caused by a plugin or maybe theme modifications or code entered in the theme files. You could check if that is the case by deactivating all plugins except theme plugins as a quick test, and temporarily removing all theme modifications if any.

As a note, the search results page number of displayed posts is affected by this setting

Could be caused by having an older version of the theme and latest of WordPress, if that is the case. It is always recommended to keep the theme and WordPress updated if possible.

After each WordPress update if there are compatibility issues they will be fixed and theme update released. I could not say if the problem you mention is caused by such a situation for sure. There were some compatibility fixes in version 8.2 of the theme, after an WordPress update. The issue could also be caused by plugins or theme modifications.

In almost all cases this king of issues are caused by plugins, code entered in theme panel or theme files. Try as a quick test to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, check if this has any effect on the issue.

If you entered code in the theme panel or files, temporarily remove it and check the results. The theme by default does not provide any errors, so something must be causing this theme feature to break.
