Hi,

I see your now using header style 3 so I’ve checked your site on iPad and found that the right logo is used there: http://screencast.com/t/cR7aVtYQDc ..and it also looks fine so please let me know if you have another issue related to this.

For the white line please add !important to the custom css from my previous post or just remove it and paste the one from below:

.block-title {
line-height: 30px !important;
}

Should solve it on Firefox: http://screencast.com/t/iZqs4tCVOLk and chrome also: http://screencast.com/t/t294eifp

Thanks

Hi,

I have checked your site and seems that post view count work fine. Are you sure that there are other articles in that section that have more views in the last 7 days? Please take a look like I said above to the custom fields and see if another post has more views. Also you can try this sorting on another block and see if it works. Also try this without any plugins active leave only Visual Composer active and clear cache. Let me know!
Please also note that this feature, when enabled, it pulls and puts together the top most viewed posts that have been viewed in the last 7 days so it dose not matter if a specific post added in a block it’s 5 or 6 or 7 years old as long as it has been the most viewed post from last 7 days.

Thanks!

Thank you for the answer, Lucian.
i guess other option would be to customize VC Post carousel to do make it look like one of the block styles from theme. What is the easiest way to modify Carousel code/style? (if you have a moment to advise on this)

One mor issue – VC drag and drop is not working when building pages in the main area. Not in latest Chrome and Firefox. fields just getting stratched vertically when attempting to drag. Default VComp works fine on their demo site. Any problem with the theme?

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no block made by module 7 so you can use with Visual Composer: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/module-7-category/ But you can set to display Latest Articles on your frontpage(blog): http://screencast.com/t/vqw4rV203f4 and choose module 7 to display articles from Theme Panel > Template Settings: http://screencast.com/t/2nLdGWM3yJfy

Result: http://screencast.com/t/EnwTdPRJ

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I recently purchased the Newspaper theme. Through your demo it looked like it provided the design framework that I was looking for.

I want to set up my homepage like the following website: http://i.imgur.com/I4mXIMD.png

It displays one article over another with a big picture and then the introductory text underneath with an option to see more.

When I go into the Visual Composer I found the Block that represented this: Block 3 as seen here.

However, instead I don’t get that at all. The block actually displays 2 or 3 small images beside each other such as this: Example

I was wondering how I can set my homepage like this: http://i.imgur.com/I4mXIMD.png since Block 3 doesn’t fulfill that role.

I’m familiar with HTML, CSS, and some Javascript. If the only way I can achieve this look is by going into the code I’m comfortable with doing that I would just need some guidance on how to do it.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Hi,

I have checked your site, but looks fine. Did you solve the issue?
I see that you use blog style – http://screencast.com/t/lXrAFlN1Ci so if you want to change header style to blog from Theme Panel > Header: http://screencast.com/t/zLILsxIco and also you can change module to display blog articles: http://screencast.com/t/tEwleqcg
Please also use this css if you want to use footer background color white: http://screencast.com/t/0YxuTYdnW

.td-footer-container .td_popular_categories ul a{
color: #222222;
}
.td-footer-container .td_block_wrap .td_block_inner .entry-title.td-module-title a{
color: #222222;
}
.footer-social-wrap i {
color: black;
}
.td-footer-container .td-icon-mail-1:hover{
background-color: red !important;
}

Our documentation may help: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-documentation/

Thanks!

Hi,

1. Please also makes sure you try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer plugin active and makes sure you empty all caches and urge files if you use cdn host then try again.

2. You can use this css for that: http://screencast.com/t/a1TR3Jdwqo2G

.block-title {
line-height: 30px;
}

3. For retina logo you have to upload a larger logo which will be used on devices that use retina: http://screencast.com/t/vgkN0H5H

Thanks

Hi,

Block 1 uses module 2 to display the larger thumb on the left so you need to add this code: http://pastebin.com/K2kidQGj ..to your module 2 file, like this: http://screencast.com/t/VY3IQ0DZdM
Result: http://screencast.com/t/VY3IQ0DZdM

Thanks

try lowercase .. stupid as it sounds,
make sure no space after ID

possible twitter has your IP blocked or some other bizarre thing…

double check the page source on the actual page to make sure the right code is actually showing in the HTML source …

likely a conflict with jetpack or one of the many many plugins you’re running….

you might need to turn them off to see which one is conflicting ….

Hi Cris:

Thanks I’m following your indication.

But now I have another issue, I open a page to edit the blocks and when click on “edit” on a block all I have is the Visual Composer logo spinning as it tries to load the block content but never does.
See capture:

Editar página ‹ My Blog — WordPress

Yep, just put articles in a category, and then exclude that category number from the blocks you create for the home page.

Using the theme builder takes some experimentation.

You also need to set your custom page as the homepage from the general/reading tab in your WP admin (see the theme docs for how to do that).

I use the responsive code on my sites. I think it says 2014 responsive version; and reminds me I need to double check if they have updated that.

Example:

<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<!-- 2014-Responsive -->
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
style="display:block"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-xxxxx"
data-ad-slot="xxxx"
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

Hi,

Thanks Chris!

@unplug.tips
We’re sorry for the delay and for all the trouble you’ve experienced using the theme. I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’ve managed solve your issue.
Regarding the https/SSL issues please note that we will include them in the next version of the theme so you don’t need to worry about this and we’re sorry for this as we had it on our todo list but we’ve somehow missed it.
Regarding images please consider that the theme creates thumbs for all images you upload, so if you need to save your host resources then you can consider which thumbs/block you will use then turn the thumbs you don’t need off from theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/kVkTcpkcesU ..and use a plugin like Force Regenerate thumbs: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/ ..which will also remove the unnecessary thumbs.

@Kvr28
Usually Facebook doesn’t update your post new info right away so it would be best ti give it some time or use the debugger tool to fetch the new information: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Thanks

Hi,

You have some filter options and sort order in Big Grid settings: http://screencast.com/t/QELFLzb0BWM and you can find here what can be done with it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-overview/ as I’m not sure what you are trying to do.
Please follow our guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-documentation/ and let me know if you have any issues related to the theme.

Thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately for the moment blocks don’t support html in title. I’ve added this on our list for further investigations and we will try to find a fix for this as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately as you know you can use page builder on category pages therefore you can’t add blocks on it.
You can try to achieve this using the do_shortcode function and built and customize the block you want via VC page builder then using the shortcode function add it to your category page template after the loop.
You can find more info abut how you can add content using the do_shortcode function here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-few-questions/#post-29762

Thanks

Hi,

Please take a look here is a solution for sticky post but this will affect all blocks: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/sticky-post-in-big-grid/

You have to enable date from post settings: http://screencast.com/t/RMbyfeFlii and change date format from Settings: http://screencast.com/t/BHbTo9rQzBh
Result: http://screencast.com/t/S70ZOLPfe

You can find more infos in Christopher’s tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-how-to-add-custom-time-stamp-to-posts/

Hi,
Google PageSpeed suggests to move css at the bottom of the page avoiding the page render blocking.
I’ve successfully used your page booster plugin for all js and css, but …content/themes/Newsmag/style.css?ver=1.6
If I add huge 400kb theme style.css to page booster plugin, website flicks until it is loaded at the bottom of the page. If I hold css theme in header, Google mark it as a red problem. How i can fix it?
Thanks

Hi,

Thanks @Sean!

Please try the css code in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/BFWR0XVZ
If you want to make this change only for that specific block please use this css to apply only on block 14-module mx1: http://screencast.com/t/Wjqmvyrwdjw

.td_block_14 .td_module_mx1 .td-module-thumb a:last-child::before{
background: transparent !important;
}
.td_block_14 .entry-title a, .td_block_14 .td-editor-date {
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 255, 0.28)!important;
color:white!important;
}

Hope this helps!

Hi,

You can use custom css to change it as the theme doesn’t have an option for it: http://screencast.com/t/aOZq7ztY
Adjust the values as you like.

.single_template_4 .meta-info .entry-category, .single_template_4 .meta-info , .single_template_4 .meta-info .entry-comments-views{
font-size: 18px;
}

.single_template_4 .meta-info ul.td-category a {
line-height: 18px;
display: inline-block;
padding: 5px 10px 5px 10px;
margin-bottom: 7px;
}

.single_template_4 header .meta-info {
line-height: 27px;
}

This will only apply to single template 4 style, to get the same style to the other post templates remove the .single_template_4 class.

Thanks
