Hello, I’ve installed the Center Magazine Pro template. Some page elements have css variables as colors, but they’re not defined (checked with browser inspector). Where can I define the global css variables for colors? i.e. var(–center-demo-1)

Hello!

1. Check this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-popup/
For customization and other services, you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/.
2. I think you should add the style as well in the raw html or raw CSS. A shortcode can be inserted also by using the element called “Column text” or “Text with title”. “Column text” and “text with title” elements have a button called “edit content” and if you click on that button, the WP Editor will open, and you can add some text/code/shortcode there. Close the WP Editor from X, save the changes from Composer and view the page to see the changes. It could be possible to be a conflict there, that’s why the shortcode do not display as you want. Please check.
3. You should build it to be responsive from the plugin source. Or you can use some CSS style added with the help of a raw CSS element from the tagdiv Composer. Check the guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
4. We have 3 options available for mobile versions that you can use:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Thank you!

Hello!

Do you mean the separator block from Gutenberg, right?
Make sure you’ve set the default style there and not a wide line.
Style it with some CSS code: https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Ok. So, I did some research and did my own testing. Looks like when the Google Bot crawls the page, the YouTube video is actually Outise the viewport because when you see this example page on a mobile device/browser inspector: https://www.teslaoracle.com/2020/08/10/giga-austin-landscaping-drone-video/

You can see that before coming to its final form, the video is expanded vertically and horizontally, it settles after a few moments. This is what is causing the issue and it’s definitely coming from the theme not anything to do with my custom CSS as I also tried removing the CSS and re-testing.

This is causing huge SEO issues for my website and has given a dent to my traffic hence lost revenue, please fix it and provide and update to the theme, so that publishers like me can recover from the loss.

Looks like I cannot delete/edit my prior comments in the forums here. Not sure how it sounds like I had two different errors though. I had one problem. I clicked the “activate” button, and nothing happened, no matter what I tried.

I did however, get a direct email reply from your support team, not sure if it was you or someone else who replied. They mentioned the following, which ended up being very helpful for me figuring out the root-cause of my issue, so I’m posting it here to hopefully help others in the future: Check with the browser inspector in the console, there is an error like so for example – https://prnt.sc/mbuXJ2imLhBy Is this perhaps happening in your case as well? Or are there other errors in the console perhaps?

In my case, the problematic plugin for me was an SMTP email plugin that allowed me to force WordPress to use AWS SES to send all of my emails, and for some reason, the Newsletter Theme would not let me activate the product because the SMTP plugin kept trying to do something with the email address field in the Newsletter Theme Activation Form. I disabled/uninstalled my SMTP wordpress plugin, then activated the Newsletter Theme, and then I re-enabled my SMTP email plugin, because I need that in order to get WordPress to send-out reliable emails to my customers…. Im really hoping that the YaySMTP plugin doesnt break other functionality within your Newsletter Them in the future… I’ve asked your support people if I could please send you the YaySMTP plugin so that you can fix your Theme so that it no longer conflicts with the YaySMTP plugin….I feel like other basic SMTP plugins would do the same thing with your Theme.

In order to help others save a LOT of time in the future, can you please post the following on your license activation help article on your website? Had I discovered the earlier comments that I received from your support team, on your Newsletter Theme license activation “how-to” page, it would have saved me considerable time and headache this weekend with identifying the problem-plugin: Check with the browser inspector in the console, and look to see if there an error, for example – https://prnt.sc/mbuXJ2imLhBy – Is this perhaps happening in your case as well? Or are there other errors in the console perhaps? If you are seeing errors, it may well easily identify a plugin problem going on with your website

Last thing I’d like to ask, can you please advise me on how to manually activate the product should I ever need to? I can see in your code after doing lots of searching, that there at least used to be a manual activation method….but the URL that pointed to manual activation from my website is no longer accessible on your end:

  • Go to our manual activation page
  • If your company recently removed the ability for us to manually activate the product, then I beg you to please bring that functionality back…my example should be enough of a good use-case for you offering this feature.

Thank you for your time and help.

    Hello @nagi!

All these changes can be made very easily in the TagDiv Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
More documentation about the cloud templates is here:
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-templates/
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-category-templates/

You can assign/duplicate multiple templates. See https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/different-logo-in-categorypage/ for more information.

You can add any element to the sidebar in the TagDiv Composer. If you add it to a template and make it global, then it will appear on every page that has been assigned that template. You can build a sidebar with the TagDiv Composer. Steps:
    1. Insert one new row (or delete an existing one).
    2. Divide into two columns (2/3 + 1/3).
    3. You can add whatever element you want to the second column and consider it a sidebar.

Access Newspaper -> Prebuilt Websites, select “All” -> https://prnt.sc/Vga5V7yzrAkJ and you can find the demo and press install.

Some styles can be added with CSS code: https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector

You can use a flex block for the post’s list:https://forum.tagdiv.com/big-grid-flex-settings/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/ limit it at 10, and you can create another block, set another limit, and have an offset of 10: https://forum.tagdiv.com/offset-feature/ and the list will continue posting post after post without displaying the same post. For the desktop view, we have another feature that won’t let this happen: https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/
Also, we have a new block that you can use and customize more: https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-builder-flex-loop-builder/

    I hope that helps you!

    Thank you!
