hello, @Calin So about the previous issues, I can’t get shortcodes to work at all, because in TagDiv Composer! It doesn’t show up on the page, it only appears in posts. I spoke with the owner of the search plugin, and he said he tried to contact you guys from the theme to get support for his plugin and didn’t get a response. The guy from the search theme said this about your theme, https://imgur.com/a/HcEGq1O

I had to create a search field, I couldn’t add it to the header, but I managed to add it to the home page. I’m having some problems.

The block images, I can’t reduce the image size no matter what I do, I have to set up CSS for all of them, it’s a lot of work, and when I delete some tdi_ element it changes the number and messes everything up. Well, tdi_98, I can’t get the image to be 90px by 90px. I used this CSS when it was tdi_97 and it was working perfectly. Then I had to delete some elements, it changed to tdi_98 and it stopped working. I adapted everything correctly, only the images aren’t staying 90px by 90px, they’re huge. Look there, the CSS is correct. https://ibb.co/TMNTDZvB desktop mode only, because for mobile I had created a separate page. https://glostv.com/tv-ufg

Could you provide CSS to fix the large image issue? To make it 90px by 90px.

About this related thing, https://ibb.co/qLBYQZPX, I can’t set it to a primary category, like there’s this option, https://ibb.co/1GJkWGGs, to make it primary up there, https://ibb.co/VpJb4rCj. Is this possible via CSS?

About this, is there also a way to hide the title without needing CSS?

Is there somewhere in the theme that disables the date that keeps showing up?

Google searches, https://ibb.co/hFZNCXJf I already deleted everything in WordPress, did everything, hid it in WordPress, https://ibb.co/wFRmCNrh

Is there any way to make the site faster with this theme? You guys in the theme recommended Super Cache, which is horrible depending on the configuration, it modifies the CSS and everything. I measured my site on https://pagespeed.web.dev/ and it’s terrible, seems like the theme is too heavy. Is there a way to improve this? Because when I update something it takes too long to update the page; I’m not logged in.

Lastly, how do you translate https://ibb.co/LXG4WdqF I tried to find it and couldn’t. If you can help me with these problems.

Ask the theme owner to add in the next update the ability to reduce the image size of the tdi_ modules so we don’t need to keep using CSS code. Ask them to add shortcode support in TagDiv Composer! on pages, because it only appears in posts.

Hello, I did all by instructions on provided link. Only, there was no option to unzip files on server, so I’ v put unzipped folder “Newspaper” in theme folder. Current theme was renamed to newspaper-backup, all that but unfortunatly no success. Plugin for cache managing is disabled. In theme control panel is still messagge for theme updating to latest version.

Hi,
Please try with a better cache plugin, for example, you can try WP-Optimize https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-optimize/ or if you can, a pro cache plugin like WP Rocket (wp super cache is ok, but it does not minify the code, provides only cache).

Hi,

When the theme cannot be updated normally, there are some extra plugins or code interfering (especially object cache), in this situation, the best option is to update the theme and plugins manually – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/https://i.imgur.com/NGsPWBy.png

Thank you!

I am not using the theme without the cache plugin. I am using the Lightspeed cache plugin.

Yes, unfortunately, I have already done this. When I enter https://www.linkedin.com/in/psboyce/ and then save it, it simply reverts to the original # or blank space that was there before. In fact, it will not save anything that I put in those spaces that begin https://

Please see the attached video [i replied to your email since i could not attach here]

I have already tried clearing all Caches. I have also tried deactivating ALL 3rd-party plugins.

Nothing works.

Please help – thank you

Hi,
Is this problem the same if you are using the theme without the cache plugin?
Thank you!

I have followed all of your instructions and tutorials. I worked with ChatGPT for 1 hour trying to debug.

Here is what is happening

If I enter ANYTHING with https:// in front of it. It just blanks back out when I save
If I enter anything without https://, it just adds it as an extension to my domain.

Example:

linkedin.com/in/psboyce/

just becomes

https://creditenforcer.com/linkedin.com/in/psboyce/

I have already tried clearing all Caches. I have also tried deactivating ALL 3rd-party plugins.

Nothing works.

Please help – thank you

UPDATE: Sorta…

unable to edit any templates (e.g., post or category templates). When I attempt to open a template for editing, the Composer editor either fails to load, displays a blank screen, or encounters an error, preventing any modifications.

Crucially, the TagDiv Composer seems to work for editing regular pages and posts. I’m guessing the problem is specifically localized to the template editing functionality?

I’ve already done many troubleshooting steps, including:

WordPress & Theme/Composer Versions:
– My WordPress core is up-to-date. 6.8.3
– Dashboard says WP, Themes and Plugins are all up to date. but on the Newspaper updates page it shows I need to update to 12.7.3
– Newspaper theme currently updated to 12.6.9, can’t upto to 12.7.3

Theme Reinstallation Attempts:
– I’ve tried a significant process to ensure theme integrity: I manually downloadeed 12.7.3 from ThemeForest and then performed a fresh, clean update to the current latest version of the Newspaper theme and its associated plugins. This was done to rule out any corrupted files. It wont et me update though, it doesnt complete it.

Site Restore:
– I performed a full site restore from a recent working backup, but the template editing issue persists.

Caching Management:
– I have thoroughly cleared all levels of caching: my WordPress caching plugins (e.g., [mention specific plugin if you use one]), server-side cache via my hosting provider, CDN cache (Cloudflare, etc.), and my browser cache (including incognito mode).

PHP Environment Configuration:
– I have verified my server’s PHP version (currently running 8.3.22)
– I have also manually increased critical PHP limits in my php.ini and wp-config.php, including:
– memory_limit 1024M
– post_max_size 1024M
– upload_max_filesize 1024M
– max_execution_time 600
– max_input_vars 5000

WordPress Core Diagnostics:
– I’ve checked the WordPress Site Health tool, and it reports no issues
– I’ve re-saved permalinks from the WordPress settings.
– I’ve tested editing in different browsers, ccomputers and incognito/private windows.

Plugin Conflicts:
– While pages/posts edit fine, I have also systematically deactivated non-TagDiv plugins that might interact with editors or custom content types to check for conflicts, but the template editing issue remained.

My leading hypothesis is that the problem may be tied to a version mismatch or conflict? My current system is detecting Newspaper Theme 12.6.9, while it seems certain theme components or template assets might have been created or are expecting an environment compatible with Newspaper Theme 12.7.3? This discrepancy appears to specifically affect the way TagDiv Library interacts with or loads template files, as all other Composer functionalities for pages and posts appear to be working correctly.

Could you please provide guidance on this specific issue? I can provide screenshots, access to the browser console, or temporary admin access if needed.

Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.

Hi,

If you’re using the options shown here https://i.imgur.com/s9M0V7L.png
the popup should not reappear for at least the set number of hours after the first display. However, if you’re using any kind of cache for cookies, it might interfere with this behavior.

Hi,
The mobile menu usualy is affected by settings form cache plugin, to make sure it is like that, please clear all cache and disable the cahce plugin afyter that check to see if the menu problem has been resolved, if has, then you need to go to you cache plugin (I think it’s litespeed) and check each options related to css and js in part.
Related to social icons, are you referring to those? https://i.imgur.com/FUw1bYj.png Usually, it’s related to cache settings too, so disabling the cache plugin should be resolve both situations, after that just check the cache options for css and js.

Hi there,
we came across this issue:
Installing wpml:
– in the template overview as written in your tutorial it works fine BUT
– the cloud template overview does not load correctly with the languages
– the cloud templates wont load correctly in theme panel when you try to give the translated categories the correct translated cloud template.

We made a fix and now it works.
If you guys are interested write an e-mail and I’ll share the code (not sure if you want code in the forum).
Maybe you can then look for a lasting solution.

Here a summary what it does:

Summary: What the Plugin Does
Problem it solves:
When you switch languages in WPML, tagDiv’s Cloud Templates Library and Theme Panel don’t update – they keep showing templates from the wrong language because they use their own cached language setting.
How it fixes it:
1. Client-Side (JavaScript):

Intercepts all HTTP requests (AJAX, Fetch API, XMLHttpRequest) made by tagDiv
Automatically adds the current WPML language parameter (lang=en or lang=de) to every request
Sets language cookies that tagDiv reads (wpml_lang, _icl_current_language)
This ensures tagDiv’s JavaScript always requests templates in the correct language

2. Server-Side (PHP):

Forces WPML to use the language from the URL parameter (?lang=en)
Switches WPML context during AJAX requests so WordPress queries return content in the right language
Filters template metadata to ensure the correct translated templates are loaded

In simple terms:
The plugin acts as a “translator” between WPML and tagDiv, making sure they both agree on which language is currently active. It catches every request tagDiv makes and stamps it with the correct language code before it reaches the server.
Result:
✅ Cloud Templates Library shows correct language templates
✅ Theme Panel dropdowns show correct language templates
✅ Language switching works immediately without page refresh issues

Cheers.

Hi,
This situation seems to be caused by the cache plugin – https://i.imgur.com/qPp5PCe.png. It appears that the optimizations from the cache plugin are interfering with the theme; usually, it’s related to a JavaScript option from the cache plugin.
Thank you!

Hi,
From what I understand, the settings should be like this, the first element is set to display the latest article, and the second element is set to display the next 4 latest articles with an offset set to 1 (to skip the first article). Most of the time, when the results are not correct, it is related to the fact that the unique article is enabled on your page – https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/. Please check if you have this option enabled, if it is, please disable it , clear the cache, and the problem will be resolved.
Thank you!

Hi,
Could you make a test using only tagDiv plugins and making sure that no cache is applied?
Also, if you want, we can check it, for this, make a full backup and contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access. We’ll check it as soon as we can.
Thank you!

Hi,
Usually, this kind of situation is created by the cache used, you’ll need to use a cache that can create a separate cache for the mobile version.
Thank you!

Hi,
The theme has only a single js file and that is on a different path:
wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/js/tagdiv-theme.min.js
The part for the mentioned js files is from the tagDiv Composer plugin
wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js also, the theme do not have a file like tdb-site.js
My recommendation: make sure that you have the latest theme version 12.73, and in case you are using a child theme, set the main theme.
Check when you are logged in and no cache and minify code is applied to see if the same error appears.
For the mobile version, you need a very good cache plugin.
You can also use the tagDiv mobile theme plugin, which will change the layout but will provide very good results – https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

Hello TagDiv Support,

I am using the Newspaper theme (latest version) on my WordPress site, and am experiencing critical issues with missing frontend JavaScript files and related mobile performance problems.

Description of the Problem:

On my live site, the following critical theme JS files are returning 404 errors:

/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js

/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tdb-site.js

This results in:

Broken frontend features (menus, blocks, theme interactivity).

Console errors such as “wp is not defined” and failures for any code dependent on the wp JS object.

Failed scripts when trying to use or customize TagDiv Composer, blocks, or advanced layouts.

File/Folder Structure Verified:

My Newspaper theme is installed at: /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/

The only theme folders present are: css, images, includes, translation, woocommerce (see attached screenshot).

No top-level /js/ directory is present in the parent Newspaper theme folder.

I checked within /includes/, where there’s a separate js folder, but it contains only backend/admin scripts, not the required frontend ones.

I have unzipped the original theme package from your download. There is still no /js/ directory at the theme root with the two required JS files.

Steps Taken:

Searched and extracted all folders in the downloaded Newspaper theme package, but could not find tagdiv_theme.min.js or tdb-site.js anywhere.

Cleared all WordPress, server, and browser caches, rechecked file system and browser console—issue persists.

Verified the problem recurs with a freshly installed, untouched Newspaper theme (not a child theme or plugin conflict).

Impact:

Site is not functioning properly for end users due to missing JavaScript.

Mobile Lighthouse audits show increased load times (LCP 5.6s+), slow visual completion, and warnings about render-blocking JS/CSS, many of which are worsened by missing or broken theme scripts.

Fundamental site features and performance are degraded on mobile and desktop.

Expected Resolution:

Please provide the correct /js/ directory and the latest versions of:

tagdiv_theme.min.js

tdb-site.js
so I can properly restore these to /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/.

If the theme package download I received is incomplete or missing files, please advise and provide a new download link or updated theme zip.

Advise if there may be a packaging, deployment, or installation issue on your end that affects the inclusion of essential JS files.

Optional/Additionally:

Please share a recommended method to ensure all critical JS assets are retained through future theme updates and can be verified after installation.

Any additional suggestions for resolving mobile loading/Lighthouse issues when all scripts are present and loading correctly.

Thank you for your help. Screenshots of my folder structure and file audits are attached for your reference.

Best regards,
Ameet

It looks like a license check. I anonymized the values in the above text.

Hi,
Most of the time, when this situation appeared, it was related to a cache that was applied.
Can you check if this situation appears when you are logged in and there is no cache applied?
If the situation persists, can you make a test using only the tagDiv plugins?

Hi, I m having the same issue “Document does not have a main landmark.” when i ran a test through PageSpeed Insight.

I have just updated to the latest 12.7.3 version and cleared all cache, but the issue still persists, any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
This can be a plugin conflict. Please check if you are using any plugin related to search. If you do, please disable that plugin, clear the cache, and see if the situation persists.
Thank you!

Hi there,

We’ve noticed a recent change in how excerpts are displayed on post cards in our Newspaper theme. Previously, the subtitle field would appear under the post title (used as the excerpt text). However, now every excerpt seems to be auto-generated from the post content instead.

This is causing an issue for us because our posts follow a strict structure and all begin with the same intro text, so the auto-generated excerpts are repetitive and not useful.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Cleared all caches (site and browser)

Checked the Theme Panel for any related settings

Verified that the subtitle is saving correctly (it is)

Confirmed that the excerpt field is empty (we don’t have it enabled for our custom post types)

Switched to the parent theme (instead of the child theme) to test — same behavior

Disabled all non-theme-related plugins to rule out conflicts

Could you please confirm if this is now the expected/default behavior, or if something may have changed in a recent update?
If it’s not intended, could you point me to how we can restore the previous behavior where the subtitle was used as the excerpt text on post cards?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

I’m currently using the theme’s built-in Woo Product Favorites feature, but it appears to be working only via local cache. This means that when I log in from a different device, my saved favorites do not appear.

I have also tried several favorite plugins, but the favorite lists either display at the bottom of the page or do not meet my requirement.

I need a solution where Woo Product Favorites are stored server-side so that users can see their favorites consistently across multiple devices. If there is a plugin that supports server-side storage with a shortcode method to display favorites anywhere, please recommend it or provide guidance on implementing this.

Thank you for your help!
