@Colourofsunshine
probably want to post your own topic as unrelated to this one.

Specify exactly WHAT issue you have, what errors you’re getting from your hosting error log file, or WP debug code turned on, what you expect to happen, what actually happens, etc.

That way TagDiv can try to assist with your particular case.

One presumes you have tried turning off all other plugins to see if conflict with “bad” plugin, turn off any items which modify how pages load like cache, minification, and if using a CDN know how to set WP up properly.

(( I don’t work here. ))

You should manually minify your CSS and not do it via the cache plugin; and don’t minify js with plugin, that also needs to be done manually. My long optimization thread in the docs > diy tutorials > best of forums has some examples on that. I also recommend NOT using child theme for best results overall on speed.

OK, all probably good advice. But. The error message refers to a problem on line 5 of a file that is not on my computer in a drive I don’t have. I believe it is on my hosting company server. “Clearing the cache” sounds good, but I don’t know how to do this. “Purging cdn files” seems straightforward. Also don’t know how to do that. My web site designer is struggling with this same issue on another wordpress-themed site (not Newspaper) and we believe it came about as a result of the recent WordPress update. Is there a Newspaper update I should have that will resolve this issue? The site is http://cortezcoffeebreak.com .

Thanks.

Hi all..

I’ve problem with fonts after minify css and js files.

For pagespeed I did some changes. Using child theme.

1. deleted import code from child theme style.css and moved main style.css content to child theme style.css.
2. moved font codes from header. and imported fonts child theme style.css file.
3. don’t use child.css file.
4. Moved jquery and other js files from header to footer.

Using w3 total cache, and when I activate css minify web site fonts not showing correctly. And after a few minutes only home page turning mobile version.

Selecting post content font “Open Sans” from theme panel, but it doesn’t work.

But if I change font family css code from Chrome Developer Tools, like font-family: “Open Sans, sans-serif”;, it shows fonts correctly.

I removed font codes header, but not changed.

What the reason can be?

Hello Bogdon,

Thanks for reverting back !

I tried disabling all the plugins expect js composer, cleared the cache but still the issue persisted.

So some article the background is not coming, but the sidebar is still missing.

Let me know how to get this fixed.

Well, make backup and then try deleting old visual composer plugin, and install the current version from the all files download and see if it works for you.

Note that “stopped working” means you can’t edit anything or make new items with VC.

If that is not what you meant, perhaps reword that?

note if you’re asking about ‘activation’ — you don’t need to ‘activate’ the plugin with Bakery folks to use it, as version included with theme is ‘bundled version.’

Try installing latest version from theme download in /plugins/ folder; try clearing cache, resave permalinks, and delete transients with wp-optimize plugin.

Good luck!

Hello,

this week all my posts’ body appear to be blank, and the toolbar in “new post” page is also missing. I’ve done some research on it and tried pretty much everything I could find: cleaning cache, deactivating plugins, adding “concatenate” line in wp.config, manually updating wordpress, deleting .htacess and so on. Nothing has worked.

I don’t know if it has any connection to it, but the issue seems to have appeared after we changed one of our home blocks to show “random posts” to “latest posts”.

Best regards,

Pedro

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using an older version of the theme, like as Newspaper 6.6.1. Hello Castle Yen,

I have inspected your source page and I notice that your Google Analytics code appears twice, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/NJW1ImLtJ3 First of all, please notice that by default, our theme insert the Google Analytics code in theme head and not in body. Do you have manually added that code in another part of the theme, like as in header.php? Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Yes you might have mentioned only iphones have the issue. I tested on android and windows phones.
I inspected your site again and saw that you are feeding images from your localhost on the live site.: http://screencast.com/t/45m80LJhtp
Please check all images and make sure your images are uploaded to your media library and implemented with the theme’s default implementation method. If you add images with css, do not use images from your localhost.
Also try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Please also try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files. Then try to use the default theme implementation for images.

Thank you!

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again. Also male sure that the parameters from system status have the parameters indicated in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
This issue may also be caused by some firewall from the server which block’s theme’s request for that thumb. Try to contact your host provider and ask him if on the server are any restrictions or firewalls which may prevent importing content from external sources.

Thanks!

Hello,

There seems to be a major issue on your site as not even google can access it to provide the page speed insight.
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
If the issue is still there, please make sure you meet the requirements for newspaper and increase the system status parameters. These 2 guides should help:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
After you make sure everything is set and you only use the tested and approved plugins, then you can start optimizing your site speed.

Thank you!

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some problem with the mobile theme. There was a conflict between mobile theme plugin and SEO By Yoast. Try to delete the mobile theme plugin and install this version: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/td-mobile-plugin.zip clear all caches then test the site again.

Let us know ho it goes.

The icons appear fine at the moment: http://screencast.com/t/dGgE19OkqW6 maybe your cache was not cleared and it has been reset since.

Hi Bogdan and thanks for the answer.
I have tried to disable all my plugins except visual composer but it changes nothing.
I can’t clear the cache for my website because I don’t have a cache plugin installed.
I have no js optimization tools on my site and no child theme that can affect the theme js…

Bogdan B.

I have checked your site and the zoom effect is completely disabled from your site. You can see the loading animation and then when you hover over the posts in the big grid nothing happens.
This is on chrome. On Firefox it behaves as you describe. This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also make sure you do not use any js optimization tools or a child theme that can affect the theme js.
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!

Hello insomniac79,

Unfortunately, the W3 Total Caching plugin is not tested with our theme and we cannot say for sure if it will work 100% with the theme, sorry! Our recommended caching plugin is WP Super Cache which was fully tested with theme and it seems to work as properly.
