Hello !
The recommended version is to use the child theme because this will be more helpful over an update in your style.css.
Thank you !

Hello !
You will have to restore one of your backups also you will have to first start looking for a plugin conflict. please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Also you can try and remove and re-install the tagDiv Composer plugin.
Let us know the results.
Thank you !

I do have a child theme. It is manetioned in my only sentence and is part of the query…
With the time passing by there’s some css code in my child theme style.css as well as in the theme custom css code filed. I wanted to know which is better – to move all css code in the theme field or in the style.css.
Hello !
Than you should work this out using child theme. Find out here how to set up your child theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Hi,
Is look that you get 403 on the admin ajax requests -> https://i.imgur.com/osGCcRD.png
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
Also make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Please check this and let me know the results!
Hello !
This can be a plugin conflict and not a Newspaper Theme related issue.

However after some testing I’m seeing the following – when some custom css is added in the theme custom css field, the original css blinks on page load and then the custom css takes place.
If the custom css is added to the style.css file in the child theme folder, then this effect is not present.
Hello !
The fact that it is not saving may indicate a plugin issue

Hello, @gumball44
Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid this. Newspaper child theme doesn’t support WOFF files to overwrite the main file.
Refer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
You have to replace your modified file every time you update the theme.
When using custom CSS code, which option is technically better – to add the custom code in the style.css file of the child theme or in the theme custom css field?
Thanks!
hi Fabio, simply add a copy of that file into the child theme directory
the changes you do to the file won’t be override with theme update
