Hi,
This can be a plugin conflict, please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, please deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
If there is still a problem please provide me a link were I can inspect this issue.
Thank you!
Hi,
1. Yes the child theme is still supported but only for those two files ( functions.php, style.css ).
2. If you make changes in theme files or tagDiv Composer plugin files you need to do those changes manually after each updates, if you chose to use tagdiv Composer you can modelate the templates as you want and the changes will not be removed after theme update.
What is the Cloud Library and How You Should Use It? -> https://tagdiv.com/what-is-the-cloud-library/
3. Unfortunately only changes in functions.php and style.css will be supported.
4. If you are not using the child theme that comes in Newspaper theme v9.7.3 and you are using a child from a prev version, you need to make that change,
5. We are working to a new documentation with more details about how to use our theme, hope this will be finished soon.
Thank you!

Hi,
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
Thank you!

Yes, I am using child theme. Please let me know the solution.
Short answer: Child themes that use more than functions.php and style.css are not compatible with 9.7.3. Welcome to the club. :/
Hello,
When I activate the child theme that came with the main theme, all the design become broken, not sure why?
Thanks,
Hello,
When I updated from 9.7.2 to 9.7.3 my website broke. So, we had to roll the version back to 9.7.2 until I can figure out how to get the same look as I currently have. I’m assuming my child theme is not compatible. Can you direct me to some more instructions about converting a child theme to the 9.7.3 version of the theme? I read the article, but am still needing more instruction specifically on how to make my child theme compatible.
do you use a child theme? then there is a bug there, which is already known.
Thanks but I will need to modify the code because I do not want to use a cloud post template as of now (no template is good for the image size of 670x446px). In the earlier version of the theme, I had made the change in the ‘loop-single.php’. Now, this file seems to have changed because I could not locate the code for the related posts. I am not using a child theme and I am willing to manually make this change every time the theme gets updated. I need to show related posts above the author box. Please tell me where to make the change.
Best Regards
Is there a way in which we can change the featured image size on single pages. I wanted something more of 16:9, but the default ones are more of a rectangular size. I have an image size defined by add_image_size() in functions.php. Is there anyway, i can override the size by some function or editing it in a child theme.?
Sirs,
Based on this comment in another thread:
“Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.”
Am i to understand that moving forward:
1) Newspaper will still support a child theme but only for functions.php and style.css changes?
2) Any other changes will have to be done on each update manually within the TagDiv Composer plugin ?
3) Will child theme support changes to editors-style.css as a major frustration has been amendments to for example quotes show in front end, but not in the editor, so it is not a wysiwyg environment?
4) Based on comments in other threads, the following line in child theme function requires to be changed from 1000 to 11 so it shows: “add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘theme_enqueue_styles’, 11);” – is this correct, as it is not in the update guide?
5) Can their be a guide created for child theme users from 9.7.3 onwards, as the guide is clear for non child theme users, but not for those with a child theme.
Catalin, as I wrote WE WEREN’T using a child theme

Hi,
Unfortunately indeed there it is a problem using child theme with tagDiv Cloud library the post templates will not longer work, sorry for the inconvenience!
We’ll try to fix this problem as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Starting from theme update 9.7 most of the theme files were moved in the tagDiv composer plugin, so modifying them in a child theme is not possible anymore. They can only be modified there directly if this is required – http://prntscr.com/nvedxl but note that the modifications will be lost after a theme update when the plugins are updated as well.
Only the default post template remained in the main theme folder
– http://prntscr.com/nveeqf
However what you are trying to do is possible in a cloud post template. These templates can be edited/created with the composer, so placing an ad box element in the post template is an easy task. Also the post template elements can be re-positioned as needed.
These are cloud post templates made by us, but you can also create your own

Thanks
I am using a child theme and overrode the header and footer parts and some of the modules. The new version of Newspaper breaks all my customizations. On a test site, I tried updating the child theme style.css and the top section of functions.php to the Newspaper Child Theme, keeping my other functions.php customizations, and then adding a folder for td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/ and then copying my /parts and /includes folders from my child theme, but the site is still broken. What do I need to do to get my customizations to work?
Hi,
That can easily be done if the post uses a cloud post template
– https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
It is a matter of drag and drop while editing the cloud post template
– http://prntscr.com/nvdssj – http://prntscr.com/nvdt1o
For default post templates it would require modifications in the code structure, and this can’t be done in a child theme after theme update 9.7.
Thanks
Hi,
Indeed the child theme is not longer working properly with Newspaper theme, sorry!
We’ll try to find a fix for this as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi,
If I understand correctly, the problem you have is that you con not login from your website using the sign/login element;
Please make sure that all the settings are as in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
– https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

Hi Simion C.,
good to hear, that the child theme/template issue is under investigation. I hope this error will soon be fixed.
I do use a cloud template, but I think this (wrong) message does appear because of the template bug.
Hello !
If you are using child theme, you need to replace the child theme that you are using with the one that came with Newspaper v9.7.3, or you can edit the functions.php from 1001 to 11 and it should work: https://image.prntscr.com/image/LJgOPaseQeWx88hn-pSKGQ.png just make sure that you clear all cache after you make those changes.
Thank you !
