Hi,
Please try to deactivate all your plugins except theme plugins and clear all caching. Then test to see if there is any difference. Check any custom code you might have used in the theme panel, or added to the theme files. If you use a child theme switch to the main theme. The check if this has any effect.
I don’t know how we could test this if sometimes it works and others not. You can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will take a look.
Maybe this is server related, you could try to contact your hosting and explain the situation. There might be a communication issue between the website and the database, or some form of filtering.
Thanks
Hey,
I want to show an ad just above back-next buttons in Smart list 6. I know I can do it using the shortcode for a custom ad but I want a permanent solution. So, I want to know where should I put some code in the PHP file to show a custom ad just above back-next buttons.
Also, I am using the child theme.
Thank You.
Hi there, I have a bit of a challenge. We are a magazine and many of our articles have multiple authors. I have found a plugin that will help with this but it seems I have to make a modification to the theme file td_module_single_base.php as per the directions here: https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/incorporate-co-authors-plus-template-tags-into-your-theme/
It does seem that the modification is a bit more complex for this theme. My questions are if you could help me and post the code as per the linked directions and if it is possible to put this override in the child theme so I don’t look my ability to upgrade the theme.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Catalin
we have updated the theme but were having some issues.
There were some conflicts between using our child theme for the old version with the new parent theme
We have the parent theme active now and have pasted the css into Appearance > Customise > Custom CSS. This has resolved all of our issues.
Thank you for your support and we will come back here if we need further assistance.
ps the script traffictrade.life was getting injected into our header ad and directing users to malicious sites. Hopefully the new theme prevents this
Hi,
First please try and deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided in the theme package and clear all caching and purge CDN files if you use it. If a child theme is used switch to the main theme. Then check if this has any effect.
It could be a plugin that is causing the issue.
If the problem remains, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look.
Also paste a link to this topic in your email.
Thanks
Hi,
This is an unusual issue, I have not seen it before. Please update the theme by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then deactivate all other plugins excpet theme plugins and clear any caching installed. If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme. Then check if the problem is still occurring. Please let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi
Recently we have been infected by traffic.life getting into our header ad on 2.3.6 so have updated to 4.0
However we are having some complications, nothing major but just a few styling issues.
Firstly the login / signup link in header top: When logged in, the menu is constantly open and clicking doesnt close it.
Also the images for our news articles are not showing. They’re in media library but not showing on posts, they are there I know it because right click > view image shows the picture, its just not being displayed.
The site can be found at http://178.62.81.15, can anyone advise how we go about this? We had everything set up in child theme but I override parent theme with new version and its almost there just a few problems.
Many thanks in advance
Hi,
Something is not functioning properly on your website. A theme reinstall and testing with only Visual composer enabled should fix the problem. Clear any caching installed as well.
The single images you mention seem to be created with the tagDiv composer, maybe you used both editors on the same page. That is strongly not recommended and can create these problems.
Try recreating the page in Visual composer, or create a similar page with single image elements and check if they display like that. Keep the tagDiv composer deactivated.
Layout issues like sidebar being displayed below main content are also caused by plugins or custom code, or modifications to the theme files directly or through a child theme maybe.
Thanks
A quick note, in case it helps – I’m using a child theme
Hi,
I have tested this on my end, but I had no luck in recreating the issue. It seems to be related to the child theme, I have activated a default child theme and used a text element with the composer, but I do not receive that notification
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Urg7NXBReCUK
If you can simply close it and continue with no problems, there should not be anything to worry about. We will make further tests in this matter.
Thanks
Hello jornalcidade,
Sorry for this but please notice that our theme does not have any such an easy option to achieve this, sorry! All the additional customizations which you want to do and if you want to keep them for the next theme updates should have to be done in the child theme. Try to make this after you read the following documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/
If you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
I checked and modified the names. Now they are the same, but the WordPress still sees this child theme as a broken theme.
So after I downloaded your theme from envato.com, the only modification that I made before upload is changed the uppercase “N” to lowercase “n”, and I can’t activate the child theme. I use a fresh website, fresh WordPress database, I don’t have posts, plugins or anything yet. What else can I do? Should I wait for an update?
Thank you very much!
I’am the teveloper. Now I testing with footer and I used the function td_global::$get_template_directory . '/parts/footer/td_footer_template_1.php'; to get the template. But the function return the template in Newspaper directory . I need a function that return the template in my Newspaper child theme directory. There are some function to do this?
Hi
We have been trying to update the theme to the latest version (4.0) by using the Envato plugin.
After creating a token, entering ID’s etc. we simply can not click on the “update theme” button which allows us to update from 3.3 to 4.0.
We would then try to update via wordpress, but since we are using a child-theme we are worried about it would have any influence on the styling?
Kind regards
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Please test our official theme demo at https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ on ie 9 and 10 to see the theme in it’s default state.
Thank you!
Hi,
You can make the changes in the child theme, if you are using one. Files from the footer folder can be customized through a child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks
Hi,
I read and used that guide to create a child theme, but it didn’t work.
I tried now, I unziped the theme package again and I uploaded the child theme without a modification next to the parent theme on the FTP server but it still the same.
FTP folder: http://www.screencast.com/t/Hv8xUiV8eo0
I have the latest WordPress: http://www.screencast.com/t/Pe5DDGkg
Wordpres Theme settings with the error message: http://www.screencast.com/t/kdT16FGUzv
I have the latest version (8.1) of Newspaper, and the child theme functions.php looks like this: http://www.screencast.com/t/HnrUjrRb9gv
Thank you for your help!
Hi,
I have just tested the responsive options and they seem to work fine on our end.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
You trending block does not overlap anything but it does not work as well. This is because of this js error in your console:

Hello,
Please contact your host if you have permissions problems. The theme does not handle permissions, ports etc.
Please also make sure you disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi.
I do not use child theme. I also do not use visual composer. Just Tagdiv composer
Thanks
Hi,
It could be a child theme that is causing this error. Code from the child theme might need adjustment for the new theme version. Try disabling it and see if the error is still present.
Also if you use Visual composer try disabling the tagDiv composer, or the other way around and check if this has any effect.
Thanks
Hi,
It means that there is no specific requirement to modify those files. The general rules of a WordPress child theme apply
– https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
The theme API should not be used from the child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-theme-api/
Thanks
Hi,
I have tested this but cannot replicate the issue. https://www.screencast.com/t/coQNdK052R

Hi,
That would be possible with some custom CSS. Try a code like the one provided below. The grid will look like this in after adding the code
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PeP6iI8u
And like this when hovered
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1xct16btt
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom CSS if you decide to use it
.td-grid-style-7 .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before {
background: none;
}
.td-grid-style-7 .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb:hover a:last-child:before {
background: yellow;
}
Thanks
