OK, so I did update VC to latest 4.12 version and I finally upgraded theme to 7 (7.3). We do have child theme.
I can’t get VC columns to work for some reason, they all show as one column. All caches have been cleared, tried disabling all caching, and still nothing.
Here’s a screenshot of the VC layout: http://share.projectarmy.net/u3txmyngxf/
And you can see the homepage here: https://www.eventstant.com/
Thanks Andrel,
May I know if we can install duplicated newspaper themes under one wp installation?
such as:
Newspaper-tor / Newspaper-tor-child
Newspapaer-van / Newspaper-van-child
Newspapaer-cal / Newspaper-cal-child
But each theme will have different settings (which saved on wp database)
Thanks alot,
Chris
I am aware of this edit link and know it appears only to admin but in my case, it is appearing to every logged in users.
I am not so sure what causing this issue. It could be BuddyPress or bb press or no idea.
Hiding using CSS is not my preferable way. The element will always be there in HTML structure.
Is there anyway to remove it using child theme? Any hook or something?
Hi
try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, deactivate the child theme if you’re using then test the site again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
HI
I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using child theme. Please check the customization from child theme and make sure that they don’t affect page’s layout. You can also try to deactivate the child theme then test the page again.
Thanks!
Hello,
Unfortunately all of the wp-booster file will NOT work in the child theme. You will have to edit the wp-booter files in the main theme files. Sorry.
Thanks.
underneath each post we have several extra fields: Quote on blocks, Source name, Source url, Via name, Via url:
First i insert text in “Source name:” and the url in “Source url:” and click in front-end the link, this opens in the same window. I dont like this, i want the link opens in a new window.
Then i insert in “Source name” the folowing code “© http://www.zellamsee-kaprun.com and click in front-end the link this opens in a new window but i have a small space before the link (in a small frame) where the code is a rel="nofollow" href="#"> </a.
I guess already to find out this code in /includes/wp-booster/td_module_single_base.php line 630 where i try to delete the small piece of code and put the .php file in my child theme, but without results. my question is where i put the file in child theme (maps) or is there another sollution to disable the code?
Thanks
Hi,
I mean that any file in the wp booster folder will not work from the child theme. You will have to edit the file directly not copy it over in the child theme. We suggest to keep a back-up file of the one modified in case you update and the file gets replaced. If you do not know what is modified for some reason, you can use ‘winmerge’ to compare 2 files and see the differences between them.
Thank you!
Hello,
Unfortunately not all files work from the child theme. The entire wp_booster folder cannot be changed from the child theme. You will have to make the customization in the main theme files.
Thank you!
Hello
I have newly purchased your theme, and it is good to see you have made so much effort with the structured data. Unfortunately you have applied incorrect breadcrumb structured data. Presently your themes show TWO or THREE breadcrumbs. Correct is to have ONE breadcrumb, with a parent child relationship.
Here is an example from a Yoast breadcrumb where it is done correctly.
Thanks for your consideration… Brian.

It seems the files have changed since this was posted. Any way to do this in the latest version and is it possible to do it it in the child theme so it doesn’t get overwritten during future updates?
Hi.
I Just bought and installed the theme. I imported a demo and tried to play around.
I wanted to change the excerpt font color by implementing the code given here using the child theme’s stylesheet. It didn’t work, however.
I tried pasting the code on the theme panel (custom css), and it worked when either “! important” or “home” was added.
I’m wondering whether the child theme stylesheet can be used for custom css? If yes, then why didn’t the code work?
In addition, I’m not comfortable with “! important”, thus, I’d rather target specific classes if necessary. Can you point me to where to find the theme’s classes? Or at least, may I know what is the class to target a page or all pages or a single post?
Hope you can help.
The standard container width (.td-container) desktop is 1068px. I wonder if you have any way to change this width by theme settings without having to use extra CSS in child theme?

A largura padrão do container (.td-container) em desktop é de 1068px. Gostaria de saber se tem alguma forma de alterar essa largura pelas configurações do tema sem ter que usar css extra no tema filho?
HI
The child theme should not create issued but if you have some custom code added there it might create issues.
Sorry about that, it was my mistake. The theme is compatible with V4.5.3 of wordpress.
Thanks!
Hi
I am not sure why this happened but you can try to deactivate all plugins clear all caches then try to update the theme and Visual Composer again as it is indicated in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
If you use child theme deactivate it during the update process.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi
I’ve checked the site again and noticed that you’re using child theme. Try also to deactivate the child theme as it may cause some issues, also remove any css/js minifications then try again.
If you still can’t manage to solve this try to setup a new wp-install on a sub-domain following this configuration:
– WordPress V 4.4.3
– Newspaper theme V 7.3
– Visual Composer V 4.12
Do a few tests with this configuration and check how it goes.
Thanks!
HI
The files from wp-booster folder cannot be overwritten from child theme at the moment, sorry. For more details about child theme support with Newsmag theme please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/
Thanks!
Is there any way to make this work through the child theme so it doesn’t get overwritten when updates come along?
I’ve set up the correct directories as discused on the child theme page but it doesn’t seem to override the parent theme.
This (updating the child-theme) did it for me with the weird borders and padding.
With my fingers crossed and backups in place I did the upgrade. And you’re right that it’s fairly simple to do. But since we have over a dozen of bulky plugins I always get cold sweat with updates like these.
What I do by the way, is simply rename the (folder) new version to Newsmag_3_1 and upload it next to the previous versions. I don’t see a reason why that should’t work, is it? And then I update our child theme accordingly. (CSS & functions.php).
Hi Admin, i inserted adsense codes in the mobile theme setting but they are not appearing on mobile don’t know why!! i did the as described here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Hello DeRothschild,
1)If you want to make your sidebar from your article post pages to be narrower, this process involves to decrease the width to the sidebar container and we do not recommend this one because the layout of the theme will be broken and for this task is necessary to do some additional customizations and adjustments in code in order to achieve best results and for this is needed custom work and we cannot provide these services at the moment, sorry!
2)If you want to make your main container being wider, also you will have to change the width of the theme and please notice that our product does not have such an option for dynamic width and we do not recommend to do that through the custom CSS code because the layout of the theme will be damaged. If you want to change the width of the theme to be in full-width mode, please notice that is not a simple task and you will have to adjust the entire theme to the new width for better results. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Also, I have noticed that above sites which you gave me, as an example, are supports the RTL mode while out theme do not support this mode, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Music Instrument News,
Unfortunately, these type of modifications could not be made in Child Theme because the files which are needed to change the code will not be overwritten in the child theme. For more information about our child theme support, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
Is it possible to add additional custom adverts without affecting the main theme and just using the child theme? I’m concerned all these changes will break with a theme update?
Can you advise?
Thanks
Hello,
It actually is very technical. A child theme is used to customize the theme code. Adding custom code to re-write theme code. A child theme is only useful if you plan on altering the theme code. If you don’t plan on doing so, then you can ignore it. A child theme is used to skip a few updates and not have to re-apply your code every time you update but even a child theme is not update proof. If you change a file and re-write it from the child theme and that particular file is changed in an update you plan on making, you still need to re-apply your modification and re-add the file to the child theme. So in my personal opinion, a child theme is pretty useless. But this is only my opinion, not an official statement 🙂
Thank you!
