Hello, I’ve some questions about homepage layout:
1. I’m trying to use “posts grid” from visual composer, in a full width column, but it doesn’t matter if I set 1,2,3 or 6 columns in the “posts grid” template: posts are shown always in three columns. Why?
2. Is there any way to hide a “row” and all it’s elements when user has a mobile device?
3. If I use ONLY block 13 + sidebar in my homepage, could this be bad for seo? I don’t see any option to have a pagenav at the end of the section, but only the “load more” button. Not sure if this could be a bad thing, that’s why I’m asking.

I just purchased Newsmag today. After I activated the theme, the plug-in WPBakery Visual Composer requires an update: http://www.screencast.com/t/TIvOsnesLD2 . I followed the instructions that mentioned on top of this thread, but I couldn’t manage to update it. Inside the setting of VC it requires its license key, which was not included with my purchase: http://www.screencast.com/t/YLsrRiR5ti . Could you help me to fix this?

2. Please also add a way to change the wordpress menu title background color and text color in visual composer, because this is one of the few modules where you can’t change it 🙁
3. Please also add a way to enable/disable the footer border, because there is no border when you set the background color in the theme options panel to white.
I know how to do these things in css but these kind of features should be available in the theme settings panel, in my opinion.

Have you also updated WordPress also? If not please do so then following this guide connect via FTP and remove the VC plugin’s folder then install it as instructed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Also try this without plugins active, empty cache and purge files if you are using CDN host.

What theme version do your use as the latest version of the theme(4.6.1) doesn’t have an inbuilt version of VC plugin.
Please also note that we provide an unmodified version of the VC plugin, tested to work well with the theme. The theme dose remove though the VC front editor.
Please disable all plugins then install and activate just you version of Visual Composer Standalone plugin then check again as this should work and also make sure that you also update to the latest theme version.

Please also try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active to make sure that is not happening due to other plugins you use, then make sure that you regenerate your thumbnails: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/
After doing this empty cache and check again.

Please try this without any plugins installed (leave only Visual Composer active). Also please update the theme if you are not using the latest theme version(1.4) and the Visual Composer(4.3.5) that comes with the theme and you can find it into the ../plugins folder. I have that problem with stupid Internet Explorer 11 on Win7/64 … have to switch over to Chrome and stuff all works.
Might not be the cause of your issue, but it does work. It’s always one of these
1) stupid Internet Explorer 😉
2) caching issue
3) bad plugin conflicting with Visual Composer
It’s always one of those. Trick is figuring out which! 🙂

Note: even with Chrome I did recently have issue where going to save a new row or something didn’t stick and realized if I did anything notable I needed to press the “save” on right side to make sure that step “stuck” — then went to next thing to mess with. Pressing “Save” seemed to clear it from it’s “lost in thought” moment.

I apologize for sounding ignorant, but I’m having a hard time following your instructions here. I’m quite unfamiliar with Visual Composer. Could you show me screenshots of what you mean? As far as I can tell, in the options for the big slide, there is no field for setting the order of pages or by page name.

I would like to install the last update but each time I activate the plugin, the admi page is still balnk ?!

The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of visual composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.

Visual composer’s main CSS file (js_composer.css) isn’t getting loaded on my site. I saw this post about adding custom CSS to compensate: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/buttons/
But I don’t want to use a workaround like that; I’d just like the .css file to get loaded. Will this be fixed in the next version? Thanks!

I’m not sure what causes this that is why it would help to inspect the site so I can figure out what is wrong.
The slider breaks like that when the style sheet of the page is altered like width of it.
I suggest you also remove the Visual Composer plugins then install it from the plugins folder that was provided with the theme files when you’ve downloaded it from themeforest and make sure that you install and use the 4.3.5 version of the plugin.

Please make sure you also test this without any plugins active and leave just Visual Composer plugin active and also empty cache then check again.
As Chris also mentioned In some cases this turned out to be due to the tagdiv speed booster plugin as this plugin moves the css and js automatically to the bottom of the page.
We suggest to deactivate all plugins to make sure this doesn’t happen due to others plugins you use and if this issue persists please let me know and also provide your site’s url.

Not sure how your site was designed before so I’m not aware of what colors/layouts/fonts that have changed. I have noticed though that some additional classes and css have been added by the VC plugin.
Please make sure that you remove the VC plugin then use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and install the plugin from the /plugins folder that was provided within your theme files.
