Unfortunately if we cannot inspect this, we don’t know exactly what the ad change. You can try to use browser inspector to find out if the width is changed in one of the theme containers. You can also try to use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css and see if it works:

Glad that it works! Maybe the css doesn’t apply on widows 10, I’m not sure as we tested the theme(and we still use) Windows 8. The zoom effect is disable on IE or Safari because these browsers do not support some effects like this very well and may not look fine. If you want zoom effect also on IE(for your users) please remove this code from style.css file – http://screencast.com/t/2HcnpZSprS8 or remove it only for IE 11 – http://screencast.com/t/Upq5DfQc

The speed booster plugin is optional that moves the css and js at the end of the page, this removes render blocking and improves the score on pagespeed. But also to have a good score is recommend to use less plugins.
Many plugins do not respect the google pagespeed recommendations of punting javascript at the end of the page and they just try to use jQuery in the middle of the page. This slows the site down and it also enforces the requirement that jQuery has to be in the header instead of the footer how Google recommends(this is the developer explanation).
We will try to improve this in future, but we don’t have a better solution for the moment.

If you set a custom font and then you make changes to it’s path you have to save the settings in Theme Panel -> Theme Fonts, the theme will generate a new css.

If you use a cache clear it. If the issue is still there try to delete the cache plugin and see if it works.

Unfortunately you will need custom work to change the width for post content when you use sidebar, as like you already said it breaks the layout and you will have to customize all other post’s elements. If you want to do this I suggest to hire a professional developer to do this for you as we cannot provide any type of custom work at this time, sorry!

The less files are compiled and the css code is already present in style.css files.

For the second open sans font css I’m not from where is it loaded, it could come from a plugin or if you have set a custom font from theme panel. Make sure you have theme set settings to default and disable all plugins to test this.

Please make sure that you update the theme properly using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ as I have checked your site and it appears version 4 – http://screencast.com/t/bHtjEKdLn1i Also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder and run the script like it is suggested in the documentation(it will import settings, rename shortcode..). Please note that Newspaper 6 is a new theme so old files customization, custom css will not work anymore so you will have to customize it again, it is not necessarily to update the theme gradually(question 2). Also you will have to re-add the widgets to your sidebars as they will become inactive.

Yes it does:
– speedbooster moves the css and js at the end of the page, this removes render blocking and improves the score on pagespeed;
– the cache plugin creates a copy of each post/page and delivers it from the memory;
– the cdn makes a copy for each image, css and other heavy resources and delivers them from high speed servers which are geographically closer to the site visitor area. The servers are spread around the world, this improves the page load speed.
