As I redesign my site, I’m trying to figure out the best way to comply with Shutterstock’s photo credit policy. I asked, and they said that it doesn’t have to be “right next” to the image, it could be at the end of the page, so I modified the CSS and ended up with this:

I noticed that in Newspaper 4 the gallery incorporates a nice way to attribute copyright on the images, but I’m not really going to use the gallery.
Is there a better way to credit the images in Newspaper that I’m simply missing? I’m going through about 300 posts and 300 new images, so I want to make sure I’ve looked at everything before I commit to a certain way. Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, you can use this css:
.td_social_type .td_social_button a {
background-color: #fff;
color: #000;
}
Thanks
I know where I need to place any custom CSS code (in the ThemePanel reserved area)
But where are we to put any Custom JAVA code; i.e http://www.AddThis.com type?
<!– Go to http://www.addthis.com/dashboard to customize your tools –>
<div class=”addthis_responsive_sharing”></div>
<!– Go to http://www.addthis.com/dashboard to customize your tools –>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”//s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=************************”></script>
hi,
have you modify some of the file from the theme?
you can use this css to increase the size of the header:
‘.td-header-bg {
height: 113px;
}’
in the theme panel -> custom css: http://screencast.com/t/YvMvAUHSOL
Thanks for you message.
Radu A.
Hi,
Add this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
header time {
margin-right: 0px !important;
}
Thanks
Hi,
1. Can you please send a screenshot with the social buttons you want to change. Are you referring at this buttons http://screencast.com/t/mB2j0AX6 or this: http://screencast.com/t/ktLR6AAzB
2. For “Similar article” you can use this CSS:
.similar-articles .block-title span {
background-color: #fff;
color: black;
}
.similar-articles .block-title {
border-color: white;
}
3. For the continue button use this:
.td_read_more {
background: #fff !important;
}
.td_read_more a {
color: black !important;
}
Hope this helps!
Thanks
hi,
no, you have to use the custom css section from theme panel
Thanks for you message.
Radu A.
hi,
I see that the images are 745 x 483 px
not sure if is working in child theme, did not tested.
the code for the sliders are in : http://screencast.com/t/isHYRu9bN .
but what will happen if we update the theme and your file are not compatible with the new version anymore?
however you can increase the size of the images using css. this css is store in the database and does not care about theme version.
Thanks for you message.
Radu A.
Cool! I had heard one could call CSS styles for the category description, but hadn’t tried that yet (my category descriptions these days are somewhat short). ๐

WP Cache will add some code like that as well and clouldflare also do some of this for you…if you have too many codes doing the same thing u will not see the effects of any thing..and it can also cause problems…
Hey cherry delete that plugin for the “Query Strings” and install this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/
after you install the plugin then add this code in the plugin
You going see Add New after you going name it “Query Strings Remover” and in the box add that code below,this code going right in ur “functions.php”
function remove_cssjs_ver( $src ) {
if( strpos( $src, ‘?ver=’ ) )
$src = remove_query_arg( ‘ver’, $src );
return $src;
}
add_filter( ‘style_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );
add_filter( ‘script_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );
After you add the code go back to the plugin “Snippets” and click manage and you going see what you add hover the name and click active…that’s all to it
Every time you will like to add some files too ur functions.php used that plugin too do it…
Oh well big other question by all of that right now:
Now that I have CF and the Plugin for Query Strings…. is W3 Cache still necessary?
Or can I delete this plugin now?
Or should I deactivate : Async JS and CSS settings?
There’s a point with: Remove “?ver=XXX” part from URLs – Enabled….
but as you can see from my GTMetrix- still complaining about my query strings.

Weird.
But we will see the next days- how Cloudflare works ๐
I use CuteFTP on both Windows and Mac (paid product); some folks like the free FileZilla which is also very popular: https://filezilla-project.org/
I believe FileZilla lets you edit remote files on the server, if you’re wanting to do that with FTP client.
More often folks will edit the files locally to have version backups in case you mess something up … if you edit the files on the server, and screw up, you then need to upload the backup file from the zip anyway. Better to edit the cloned copy of file like functions.php or style.css locally, upload, test site, if works you’re A-Okay. If broken, then you can reupload the original un-edited version over the new version … or if doing versions (make edit, save, backup, make another edit, save, make backup, etc.) you could go back a step to what worked.

Yes…. follow the suggestions found in this sticky topic.
1) make sure you have proper expiration headers
2) make sure you have gzip/deflate running on your server
3) use the speedbooster tagdiv plugin
4) use an image optimization tool (e.g., smushit, or similar) and/or set compression level in your functions.php file
Use GTMetrix to see anything you need to fix except for minifying the CSS and Java; if you wish to minimize that you can do so using the tips I’ve included for using CSSminifier, etc.
However, expiration headers, cache control headers in htaccess file, and gzip/deflate running on your server are good for 20 points of your problem and will get you into the 85 range once you solve that.
I’m running the PageSpeed Insights and receiving a terrible result. On desktop im receiving a 65/100 – and I wanted to point out a lot of is has to do with ‘CSS’ (same with mobile). It’s telling me to optimize css deliver of the following (http://screencast.com/t/z9EIqVts0B2). Any suggestions? (v. 4.0.2)
I’ve been messing around and it is using the LESS_CSS styling.
If i delete td_less_editor-style.php the font changes, but if i edit the file Radu said here: http://screencast.com/t/e8vUszQi the font doesn’t change?
Is there a way i can disable the backend using the LESS_CSS styling and use the default WordPress styling with Newspaper V 4.1 (released 29th July)?
Thanks ๐
Hi,
I have checked to see this issue regarding using style 2 and that mentioned css and found no issue there: http://screencast.com/t/7YLsCaqcxpdG
It’s looking fine, if you want to change it just change the values as you like.
1. We know about this and we will try to fix it in next updates.
2. I’m not sure that i understand what your requested style should look, can you please provide more details or an image showing what you would want to look like.
3. We will add it in next updates, until then you can use css to change it:
Try this, and change the value as you like.
.single_template_5 .entry-title {
font-size: 50px;
}
4. Also you can change this via css, we have this an our todo list.
Thanks for the massage
hi,
the idea with the child theme is to have the same file structure but different functionality in those files.
but you need to stick with a theme version for this to work, if you update the theme then you have to update also your files functionality in case those files got change in the last update.
try to make plugins, witch are separated by the theme, you can use them with what ever theme you want and you can change the functionality only when needed.
your custom css can be added here: http://screencast.com/t/dmA7qlRdqL (this will be saved in the database)
Thanks for you message.
