Hi this is the test after disabling the google fonts and loading those de thema in local …
With regard,
Marco.
P.S. maybe they would be faster if they were in the new woff2 format
Hi,
For fonts you can deactivate them from theme panel, and upload your own fonts in woff format, in this way these will be load faster -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
Thank you!
Hello !
In order to set the page loading speed you can edit that from the same settings where you activated you infinite post loading but in the “Page scroll percent”, by default is 50, as closer you get to 0 it loads faster: https://www.screencast.com/t/UeqE2zXN1fi
Thank you !
Hello !
Please check your theme’s system status and make sure that all the requirements are accomplished. Here is the documentation for Newspaper’s requirements: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
To increase the speed take a look at this tutorial on getting a faster page: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/

Hi,
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, please deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.
Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/
There are many optimization guides provided by our users here in the forum, some made by us, you could check some of them

Hi,
From what I can see in your screenshot -> https://www.screencast.com/t/AiuTtvgm you get an 404 on these files, please make sure that those files are load.
Also I’ll make some more deep investigations and I’ll try to provide you an answer to load faster the woff and ttf files.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello,
I installed today the mobile plugin. I’m very happy with it, the website loads much faster on mobile. But I would like to remove the “more articles” under the footer. I will add a screenshot to make it clear.
Screenshot : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2019/17/4/1556223324-image-1.jpg
Can you help me ?
Thanks in advance
My site loads pretty well but if you look at the waterfall chart from WebPageTest, you can see that Newspaper.woff and Newspaper load relatively much slower than other elements on my site.
I understand caching, minification, defering JS, etc. concepts for general page speed optimization. I have gzip enabled, caching, CloudFlare, WP-Rocket, minification, etc. etc. etc. so please don’t refer me to a general post on how to speed up a website.
What I need to know what is specific to these 2 files that causes them to load slower than the others? ….and how can I get then to load faster?
Here’s the page tested

Here’s the WebPageTest waterfall:

Hello,
Google recommends to add font-display: fallback; right after the font-family ... line in css-files to make the page appear faster, if Google-fonts are used. Could you please insert this in line 7104 of the themes style.css?
Regarding the mobile version – Please don’t enter the page code from desktop in the mobile editor, it will not work and may cause problems. In the mobile editor enter text, images and what is possible with it’s options.
The mobile editor’s capabilities are simple, this is why the mobile theme is noticeably faster than the default responsive version. If you want the same content from desktop displayed on mobile as well, deactivate the mobile theme plugin.
If you deleted the special “Featured” category you can recreate it like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Y2QPRE7xeX
It should function same as before after creating it.
Regarding the lightbox for images, please edit the post and check if it is enabled for that image – https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-window/ it could be currently set on off.
When the lightbox is enabled there will be navigation arrows on the modal to cycle through the post images – http://prntscr.com/ngkbs3
From what I can see there already are 3 images per row – http://prntscr.com/ngkdmv
The lightbox will work for the element that is used to display the images, the inline image – http://prntscr.com/ngke7c
If you want something like a slider you could use a tagDiv gallery
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/gallery-2/
The gallery will occupy the full space in the post content, if no sidebar is used for the post. That is how the gallery looks in the full space. What exactly do you want to do with it, or how do you want it to look? Let men know.
You can try it again when your internet connection is stronger/faster, or even try it on a different browser – chrome or any other browser in its latest version. You can also clear the browser cache and try again!
Hi,
If the mobile theme plugin is active, what is displayed on mobile will be a different from desktop. For example the mobile homepage will display a top grid with 3 featured posts (if there are any) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
Below that grid will be a latest articles section. The mobile theme is specially created for mobiles, it is faster than the default responsive theme version. Other pages will be empty on mobile, if there is no content entered in the mobile editor for each page
– http://prntscr.com/ng341f
Here you can read more about it – https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Regarding that border, from what I can see the top bar is empty (no login, no weather no socials etc). You could disable it entirely if you do not want to display any elements in it – http://prntscr.com/ng373y and the problem will be solved.
The “Read more” that the block uses cannot be disabled. You could use a different type of block, maybe a flex block (these have an show/hide “Read more” button setting).
Here are some block designs made by us that can be imported with the cloud library plugin
– https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks (they are all flex blocks).
However if you want to keep using block 24 and wish to remove the button there is a solution. I could give you a code to remove it – http://prntscr.com/ng3941
Enter this code in the Theme panel->Custom code-> CSS code section
.td_block_24 .td_module_19 .td-read-more {
display: none;
}
If you want to keep the block and the button but change the text it displays, you can translate it in the Theme panel->Translations settings – http://prntscr.com/ng39vz
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Good day. Does the child theme affect server performance and site load speed?If i don’t use a child theme, will the site be a little faster?
Hello,
These could be symptoms of low memory allocation. Please make sure you increase your WP memory and php version and memory as well.
Please follow this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and make sure everything in the system status is green.
Also you could make use of a the following guides:

We also recommend this Cloudflare configuration
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
For speedbooster you can disable the compatibility check like so:

Hi,
If you want the code to affect the social icons in the header menu, it will be like this
.td-header-menu-wrap ul li a,
.td-header-menu-wrap .td-social-icon-wrap{
margin-left: 15px;
margin-right: 15px;
}
Modify the margin values as needed. In case you wanted something else or there is a problem with this code, please post a link to the website so we can take a look, it will be easier and faster this way.
Thanks

Hi,
I believe the mobile theme plugin is active, that would explain it. When the mobile theme is active, pages that you created with the composer for example, will be blank on mobile (except the homepage which has predefined content)
– https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Each page will require two versions, one for desktop and one for mobile (the mobile editor must be used). Using the mobile theme, a simpler (thus noticeably faster) version of the website will be displayed on mobile.
This plugin is optional however, if you deactivate it the responsive version will take place. Meaning the website desktop content will adapt for mobile.
I should note that the mobile theme can be used together with AMP since a few updates ago – https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,
The mobile theme can only display an image logo, currently it cannot display a text logo like on desktop. I could add this as a request and it will be considered.
The header that the mobile theme displays will not be the one that you build with the header builder in the composer. Only when the mobile theme is not active will that be displayed (responsive version). So to display the mobile cloud header template you have built, the mobile theme has to be deactivated.
Most of the mobile theme elements and templates are predefined, this is what makes it faster. We will add more options and settings in it in future updates. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks

I understand one of the reasons for Amp and Mobile are for a faster site which leads to more views and a stronger worth to advertisers. However, is there a way to use our own ad inserter plugin rather than what is provided in the theme panel?
Hi,
If you use the mobile theme plugin, that the mobile website will be different from desktop. The mobile theme doesn’t use cloud templates, it will use predefined templates, regardless of what is used on desktop. That is what makes it faster.
However the mobile theme is an optional plugin. If you want to display the same content from desktop on mobile, deactivate it. Here is some more information about it
– https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
