Update the theme via FTP.
Hi,
@alvarezcyberx Actually this is a common issue, it happens with other themes as well. But it happens only for some users in some specific combination of theme and server configuration, please search through the forum.
If it would be a major problem specific to the theme there would be a higher number of similar topics.
Have you consulted with the hosting provider about the issue? They could check error logs and the server configuration, maybe there are clues there. Also check some hosting documentation first

Let us now what you find, or what fixed the problem.
Hi,
You are probably uploading the whole theme package. You have to upload only the theme zip file, not the whole package which contains other items

Hello,
On the site themeforest.net is available for download in the archive only patch_9.0_9.0.1
I have not had time to download patch_8.8.2_9.0 Where can I download it now?
If by FTP overwrite the entire distribution, then I will have to re-edit many files, where I made personal changes. That’s why this patch_8.8.2_9.0 is needed.
When I put my site in SFTP mode, I was able to access TD Composer, at least on the dev site…
I’d likely start in the docs, here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
FTP is best way; and how I do it for our sites.
Make sure you have full backups of everything; make sure you copy out any custom code put into theme panels, and widgets, into a text file, too.
Hello,
Two installation problems:
1. When we try to upload Newspaper using WordPress, we immediately get this message:
< The link you followed has expired.
Please try again. >
We tried adding the theme on two different servers, same results.
2. We then uploaded it manually using FTP, and then we get problems with the td-composer plugin. After activating it, we get a blank screen, and then we need to deactivate it using FTP.
What can be wrong here?
Kind regards,
Martin.
Hello,
Automatic updates are never the better choice. The order for the best choices are FTP first, then WordPress update and the least safe – Envato market.
Thank you!
I already provided the necessary details via email.
Please do not post into multiple places, this was the main reason we could not help you until now.
If you’ve written on email and asked for help, write only in that section until the problem is solved. And check your emails for responses, because we have asked you Cpanel or ftp from Friday.
Thanks!

Hello,
You should use the Google Analytics code. Please check the following useful guide from here -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-install-google-analytics-in-wordpress/ -> https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1008080?hl=en
The Analitycs Code should have to be added here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/fc7l4hGXv Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks.
Hello,
Here are a few possible fixes for the error you are receiving:
1. Your cURL is outdated. Get in touch with your host’s support team with the request to update their cURL library to the latest version.
2. There is no open incoming connection available on your server. To resolve the issue, request your host’s support to allow open incoming connection for your website.
3. Your WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) do not match. Make sure they are the same as your current domain name (WP Dashboard => Settings => General).
If all else fails, you can install the plugin via FTP: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-manually-update-wordpress-plugins-via-ftp/
Thank you!
Can’t figure this out. Every hour or so all of the TagDiv plugins deactivate somehow and kill my site. I have to keep manually going back and reactivating them. This didn’t start until I updated your theme. The website is BuiltTacomas.Com I can send wp admin and ftp info if you guys need it. I can not for the life of me figure this out.
My colleague tried to install by WordPress, that was unsuccessful for some reason. I believe he replied to you instantly by email, requiring the FTP credentials or cPanel to install the theme by those methods.
Please check your email and reply there as soon as possible.
Hello,
We recommend the FTP method. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks.
Hello dmitri.lessy,
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer to your setup page. Provide there the link to this conversation so we can quickly identify you. Also, please provide the FTP access and CPanel. Remove all of your untested plugins, clear all the caches and make a full backup to your database.
Thanks for the message!
Hello lawoman23,
It seems to be a caching problem! The surest way of the theme update is via FTP way! Please try this way from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Purge CDN files and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
@Thomas We could take a look, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access, FTP or cPanel if possible.
Does the issue happen for new pages as well, or only specific pages? Did you try to return to a previous page revision? Maybe some recent additions in those pages caused the problem. Returning to a previous revision could be a solution.
Please also include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe the theme did not install properly. Check if the theme exists in the WordPress themes folder on the server
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1rwgwYpc7mI
As long as you follow the guides there should be no problem
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
The theme can be installed just like other themes, nothing special about it’s installation process. Be sure to check the theme requirements guide as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hi,
I don’t understand what you mean unfortunately. What modifications are you talking about exactly?
The patch files are provided with each update. Those are the modified files from the previous theme version to the latest one. They have to be uploaded by FTP in the theme install folder and replace the old files.
Thanks
Hello rstreng,
First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way and then, remove all of your plugins and update them from plugins section from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/k1WITTGZz Check the Big Grid 6 from the panel which should look like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/I4YtAwJBZEj Clear all the caches and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hello seadclark,
Try to re-save your permalinks, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
@0dd8a11 Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a closer look.
Thanks!
Hi!
I would like the default post width to be narrower, about 650px. So it’s easier for users to read.
Currently the post does not have side bar, and it looks like this:
http://d8r.282.myftpupload.com/2018/04/30184/
You have said that this is only achievable by text padding in the edit post screen, but this may change in the coming updates to have more flexible to modify post width. I have Newspaper 8.8. In the updated Newspaper 9.0, could I modify the default post width to narrower width?
Two issues:
1. Updates – Despite having the Envato plugin configured properly (it detects my purchase of Newspaper), when I go to the themes section, there is no option to update Newspaper to version 9.
I also tried updating via FTP, but strangely, it still shows Newspaper 8 when I go to the themes section.
2. This issue just seemed to come up today out of nowhere. Despite having the “Big Grid Full 8” module selected for my homepage, it no longer actually has the full width now. Why did this happen, and how do I fix it?
Hello
Till the 2 last updates nothing change.
I add <IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule> in the htaccess.
I also add define ( ‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );
in my wp-config.
Nothing change.
I create a new page and impossible to edit it with TD.
The page turn and nothing happens.
When I click on add, I have this error:
Error at rows: 1(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content
The homepage seem to contain mix of VC and TD and I arrive to edit it.
But for exemple on the blocks Dernières publications parues sur VM and Bons Plans VM : fais des économies sur tes achats !
when I try to change the Border color: nothing change in the admin.
Please help.
I really need to create new pages.
I can provide FTP and admon access.
Thanks
