The envato ‘plugin’ updater will never work 100% of the time and may break site.
Always *best* to do it via FTP, as you can make a safety backup of your site before uploading new folders, in case something breaks or bad plugin causes site to not work at all due to some unexpected compatibility issue.
Also remember when doing major upgrade
– backups should be made of working website
– you will need to update theme, and theme related plugins; disable other plugins for testing
– disable any caching plugins, clear caching
– ideally disable mod_pagespeed during upgrade if using that via htaccess
– after upgrade you may want to use the wp-optimize plugin to help clean up any gremlins in dbase; –and– you should resave your ‘permalinks’ to clear transients
– you will also need to clear your history/cache in web browser to ensure you’re seeing the new CSS for site being loaded properly, or site may look broken/different
Also worth considering
a) copy the text/shortcodes from your home page layout into text file
b) copy/export any custom css
c) copy/export to text file any complicated widget codes you have setup

No, it will not delete your articles and settings, but first, make sure you do a full theme back up before updating via FTP. Then remember to clear your browser cache. Remember to also delete td composer and td multipurpose and reinstall them from Newspaper>Plugins. If this does not work, then you can wait for the tagdiv team to provide a better solution (I don’t work here).
I reinstalled the theme via FTP. Everything worked! Thank you! )
Yes I deleted tagDiv Multi-Purpose and then tagDiv Composer and reinstalled it same order. It didn’t fixed the problem. If I reinstall the theme via FTP it would delete my articles and settings?

@MDNM2017 did you clear your browser cache? I did and mine worked. You have to delete both the td composer and td multipurpose plugins and upload those that came with the theme update (preferably via ftp).
Reinstalling the theme won’t delete the front panel and pages configurations? It’s better to do it via FTP or WordPress?
Since the update is synonymous with everything blank, at least in the admin area. If I disable the plugin td-composer via FTP, the admin area goes back, but I’m not in my posts purely. The homepage itself is displayed correctly.
Hello Robert90,
Salut!
Please update the theme plugins as well. Deactivate and remove them and reinstall them from the latest theme package. Check if the issues is solved.
Also make sure you have updated the theme properly
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You could try reinstalling then theme as well, by FTP.
If you use a child theme, please try to temporarily switch to the main theme.
Let us know the results.
Hello Sumesh,
First of all, please try to make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Please notice that each of our demos, basically, is a skin of our theme. Your content should have to be visible for each demo. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please try to reinstall the theme and the theme plugins and see how it goes.
Also disable any untested plugins.
If the issue persist please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a closer look. Please make a full backup before – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
If you send the email please paste also a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks!
I’ve always updated the topic by FTP and very neat.
I will not reinstall the topic, because I do not want to risk completely killing the site.
I updated the theme via FTP and no content would load on the front end. I just reverted to the previous version of the theme.
That would mean the theme has not been updated or installed properly. You could try a theme re-install by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
In similar cases the solution was to reinstall the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/inline-ads-position-option-not-showing/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/after-paragraph-missin-in-article-inline-ad/
That code will work as well, it will override the demo customization. You could use that to position the logo on the left instead of modifying the demo stylesheet.
Theme files can be modified either in Appearance->Editor or by using FTP

– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-use-ftp-to-upload-files-to-wordpress-for-beginners/
Also FTP is used to update the theme, it is the most recommended method

Salut mariusfv,
O zi faina!
Hello Ochelh,
Unfortunately, please keep in mind that error happens due to a bad theme installing. Please make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain for testing and check the results. Notice that I have tested on my site and no errors appear.
Thanks for your understanding!
You should update the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
@Bogdan B, all the plugins and theme are updated and installed via FTP and on the second attempt via WordPress themes and plugins installer. Yet, i still get the same error in the theme panel > Multi Purpose.

Thank you!
Hello mjehangir,
I saw that you are using the Newspaper Child Theme. Try to switch the theme to the main theme, without any untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
