Hello! I’d like to make my call to action block full width. Currently it is at 80%, but even at 100%, it only spans the width of the other blocks. You can see the block in the middle of the page here…http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/. I would like for it to be the same width as my menu and the Homepage post block above. Thank you!
Also, generally you don’t want option to edit style.css or other files via WordPress as this is major security risk.
Ideally you should edit the style.css file in text editor then upload via FTP to over-write the default file. This is “best way” as you keep verions, backups, etc., in case you do something wrong.
If you break something via the WordPress editor for theme files, it can be broken with no way to ‘go back.’
Just suggestion.
Hello,
The absolute best and safest way is via FTP as you do not rely on other apps to copy over the files for you. Basically what an update does is simply delete your theme and install it again. It is a very easy thing to do. Simply access the files delete them and upload the new ones. Automatic processes can fail at times. The automatic process is the least safe, then comes wordpress, then the safest is ftp
Thank you!
Properly install the theme.
See the theme docs, right side of page “how to install…”
Best way is via FTP, as you then ‘know’ all your files are actually there.
Which of the Update forms is the easiest, less riskier and most successful?
1. Via FTP,
2. Automatically or
3. Via WordPress

Hi,
Please remove any modification you have made to the theme files, to get your website working again. Or make a fresh theme install – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ if you ca not revert the code to the default state.
Then try to create a new custom ad spot as explained below.
Maybe you are not creating the custom ad properly. The custom ad needs to be created like in this example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/M3YMS8AMRni
It should display in the theme panel ads section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/O8SOZ8OzM
Then if you want to use the custom ad in Visual composer, you need to add it here in the same td_config.phpfile
– https://www.screencast.com/t/58Y5tDgmq4
Thanks
Hi,
Please try to do a clean install of the theme. Download the latest theme version form Envato and follow this guide to install it via ftp – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then deactivate and delete the old version of Visual composer and social counter, and install the new ones from the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Then configure the social counter again and it should work properly for you.
If you still have problems, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look.
You can activate the theme on a sub-domain for testing purposes and then activate in on the live site. You can use the reset key option available in the theme system status

Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
The code must be added in the head section of the site. That means you will have to access your theme files vis ftp and place the code here: https://www.screencast.com/t/g35TKjUVQ0
Thank you!
Hello,
Please check your version of php. if you use php 7.1 then switch to 7.0 as our themes are not yet compatible with 7.1
Also make sure you clear all caching afterwards.
If you still have trouble with the errors try a fresh theme install. Remove the current theme and install it again via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
Hello Imagineer,
It seems that your style.css do not apply to your website. I suggest you make a new fresh install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Imagineer,
I have inspected your website and I did not saw any problems with your menus, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CK11bJxbX43b Ensure that you have installed the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
You can only update the Visual composer manually. Just deactivate and delete it, then install the latest version provided in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
This editor comes pre-activated in the theme package and you can use all the available features, there is no need to activate the Visual composer bundled in theme package.
You can update the theme using this method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and also find more update advice here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The settings in the theme panel will not be lost, only modifications made directly to the theme files will be removed, as the files will be replaced.
As suggested in the update guide, you should make a full backup before you take any action.
Thanks

Hello TheZugzwangBlog,
Please ensure that you are right installed the latest version of the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with another domain and check the results. Most likely, this problem happens due to your bad theme installing.
Try my advice, clear all your caches and let us know how it goes.
Thanks for your understanding!
Best way to do it:
via FTP, navigate to your wp-content/plugins/
and then delete the old js-composer folder.
then unzip the visual composer folder on your computer,
upload that folder to your wp-content/plugins/
folder via FTP.
Done. Good to learn how to do this if your hosting panel or WP admin panel ‘times out’ when trying to do some stuff like this. Theme can’t control those issues, unfortunately.
Hi,
It means you had visual composer installed on your site before but did not remove it properly. There is still the visual composer folder left behind. In this case you will have to go in via ftp and delete the visual composer folder. Then you can install the plugin again.
Thank you!
Hi,
You can try the Ftp method as it is the surest in this regard, please use the guide above to update the theme. Consider making a backup of your website just to be sure. More information bout the theme update and useful tips here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Hello sanjeevparth,
It is impossible this thing. Most likely, you have not right downloaded the theme packet. Try to download again, all the files and install it via FTP way, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hi,
Please try and switch from your child theme to the main theme, the check to see if the issue is still there. If this does not fix it and you have no custom code that could affect the background, and deactivating the plugins also does not resolve it, you could try and make a new theme install
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Maybe something has gone wrong during the update process. The background ad is working properly on my end, using the latest version of the theme.
Thanks
Hi,
That would require you to have the version 7.7 in order to update to 7.8.1 that way. Each update contains changes to different files and parts of the theme. One update can modify one file and the next other files.
You can try updating using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ which is basically the same thing.
Thanks
Hello,
thanks for the information – I have only one remaining question. When I migrate the content to the new wp-installation – do I have first the newspaper theme install before migration or afterwards the migration? Do BuddyBackup or UpdraftPlus also copy/clone/migrate the fully newspaper theme?
Thansk again,
with best regards
Michael

Hello MamasLT,
To be safe, try to make a full backup to your database and then make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Clear all your caches and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Marcus_S,
The theme should have to work as expected without any additional untested plugins and customizations. Try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP and use only our recommended plugins, clear all your caches and check the results. After this, if your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can easily identify you.
