Unfortunately, we have an issue regarding on mobile theme and this has been fixed in the latest updated that still remained 7.3 and that’s why the Envato Toolkit did not notice the update. Please try to re-update your theme and check again the results. First of all, you will have to download the latest version of the theme from your Theme Forest account and then, using the FTP method, you will have to update your theme, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Please keep in mind that with this packet will come bundled and the latest version of our required plugins -> Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1 Update your theme and check again.

Delete the Visual Composer by ftp and reupload the Plugin manually also via ftp
I updated the plugin through FTP again and the results are the same. I’ll email you my log-in details.

FTP sounds good but it makes me reluctant to update with FTP as I’m not 100% comfortable using this method.
I have exported the changes as a XML file as mentioned in my previous post and so updating via FTP would still allow me to apply these changes after the 7.3 theme has been updated?

To exclude any conflict, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Am actualizat tema din nou din ftp. Într-adevăr tema mobilă funcționează, dar nu la toate articolele. Articole precum acesta: https://itutorial.ro/2016/08/editare-hosts-mac/ se încarcă în versiunea mobilă a site-ului și nu înțeleg de ce. Am testat în Safari de pe iPhone cu iOS 7.1.1 și iPhone cu iOS 10, iar rezultatul este același. Unele articole se încarcă în tema mobilă, dar altele nu se încarcă de pe niciunul dintre dispozitive.
- Acesta este comportamentul așteptat de voi, referitor la fundalul pentru categorii și post style 8? În cazul de față este post style 6, a cărui featured image nu merge și pe fundal… Style 8 nu l-am prea folosit, dar acolo mi se pare că ia direct din featured image. Nu înțeleg însă la style 6 de ce face așa…
- Mi-am dat seama că asta este problema, sugestia mea este ca fundalul etichetelor să aibă același comportament și în category template style 3, cum are în prezent în paginile articolelor (adică acolo unde sunt culori deschise, nu doar alb, să schimbe automat textul în negru).

Can you confirm that this is the correct version – themeforest-5489609-newspaper-wordpress-theme.zip? I’ve gone to my Evato Market account, then to https://themeforest.net/downloads and downloaded the ZIP, installed via FTP per the instructions in link provided https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and now I have the 7.3 version displayed in the Appearance/Themes. However, the Visual Composer is still at version 4.11.2. Do I have to all the pluins manually as well?

Please try to re-download the latest version of the theme and ensure that is a clear one and it has been fully downloaded from the Envato server and then, using the FTP method please install the theme to your side, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ With the latest version of the theme will come bundled all the latest version of required plugins and these have to be installed on your back end ->Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1 Try to do these steps and then let us know how it goes!

Now… I had done the VC update to 4.12. Everything was ok.
I did the theme update using the FTP way. I got that error: “Fatal error: Access to undeclared static property: td_global::$feature_locked in /www/XXXXXX.com/htdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/wp-admin/panel/views/td_panel_header.php on line 239”
If I commented theses lines I may continue working, but the Theme panel is broken.

Actually updating visual composer does not require any toolkit or ftp method at all. You can simly deactivate the plugin and delete files for it: http://screencast.com/t/mjdRW5W5 And once you have the latest version of the theme installed, you can simply install VC again from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/AyXUkuK6b

It’s unfortunate that not only can’t this be updated from the dashboard or Envato Toolkit (meaning, my client could never do this herself)(And I only bought the Envato Toolkit for this reason), but the instructions on that link also failed because the file upload size was too big. Looks like it’s going to be a manual FTP with every update. I hope this changes in the future. I have to re-learn this fact every time there is an update, because I manage so many different sites with so many different themes and this is so particular and hard to remember about.

You could try to find the post on which this happens, this can be done by adding a check on $pung to echo something when $pung is not an array.
You can also try to switch the theme with a default one (ex. Twenty Fifteen) to see if the theme has some influence on this behavior.
Another check is to remove the custom code from functions.php and see if the error is still there.

Hi,
The patch is used if you do not want to replace all your theme files with the new update. The patch simply contains the modified files so you can simply copy over and replace every file with the one from the patch. This is done through ftp.
