Via FTP delete the jscomposer folder in plugins folder.
Install clean version.
You may need to clear all caching/CDN as applicable; also clear ‘transients’ using WP-optimize.
Always keep backup of working site as snapshot so you can roll back if needed.
Good luck!
That never works for me; using FTP is always best choice as you can also download working backup of site before doing update, in case you need to ‘roll back’
I checked out the screencast and I do not have a file named td_videosupport.php. Which file should I look in with my theme to make this change to the code? Thanks.
Update: never mind I see this needs to be done via FTP let me try that. Thanks!

Hi Support Team
I just saw my website client had trouble about the post thumbnail lost, i already check the media gallery from ftp its still there. The site is portalasean.com
Regards
Yudhie
PS: I deleted the old version through FTP and updated the theme via WordPress using theme file downloaded from envato released last day.
My previous WP update was made from the WP dashboard welcome screen and I assume that wouldn’t be a test version. I made a fresh instal of the theme deleting old version via ftp. Do i still have to update the visual composer manually or does it include the latest version of the plugin?
Although the issue seemed to have resolved yesterday after the update, its reiterating again. I use google chrome as my default browser. Checked with firefox and it works fine on there. Is there any other way to fix this once and all for chrome ?
Hi
This errors happens when you try to access the theme’s index.php file directly, usually it displays a Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header(). You can find more info about this in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/fatal-error-3/ and add a redirect rule for it.
That is a problem related with a WordPress file and it could be caused by some plugin. Try to login in your ftp account and rename the plugins folder from …/your-wp-install/wp-content/plugins then try to login again. Here you can find more details about this process: https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F
Hope this help.
Thanks!
Hi,
you need to access your theme files through ftp and identify the path from the screenshots. The method I showed required you to copy one piece of code from one file and paste it in another file. The path is visible in both screenshots. If this simple modification is too difficult, I do not recommend doing it as it will require further customization for positioning in css. The theme has no setting for this so it has to be hard-coded. Alternatively you can maybe find a plugin that has this functionality without altering the theme files.
Thank you!
Hi,
You cannot disable wp booster. People get this error when the update is not done properly or they have custom modifications made.
Please make a clean install of the new version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Please restore all modifications you made to the theme, and switch to the main theme if you use a child theme.
You can also set your search template from the theme paenl. Simply change the settings here and hit the save button: http://screencast.com/t/hH65D9slczNW
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please make sure you installed the theme properly:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and make sure you install visual composer from here: http://screencast.com/t/nFMntT2NNE5
The blocks should be visible within the plugin elements: http://screencast.com/t/Zvpl9yaeITe
They also could be disabled from the plugin settings here: http://screencast.com/t/zTs6af3ZfduM
Thanks.

Thank you!
Hello puirseal,
Please install the plugins from here: http://screencast.com/t/db9rj2ky1 and remove any version you already have installed beforehand. If they still will not work, then please try to upload the plugins via FTP. They can be found in the main newspaper package: http://screencast.com/t/nJ9HoFit9tsX For more information about FTP, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi guys,
Just purchased the theme for http://www.exigone.com
Appears something is wrong and I don’t get any error messages indicating what would be wrong.
Have followed standards ftp install
Thanks
Jrus
Best bet is to make back up of dbase, backup of all site data via FTP, export theme settings from theme panel, export data from WP export panel, copy/paste anything from custom css panel to text file, etc. — these are all normal backup/safe keeping procedures.
Upload new theme over old one. Make note if you changed any templates you will need to reapply them. Remember to also update plugins.
Envato toolkit sometimes does not work, resulting in mix of broken pieces — hence good to have backup where you can simply re-upload via FTP to put eveeything back vs site being down.
Hi,
The error you get is because you had visual composer before and the folder already exists in the specified path. Please delete this folder from here: http://www.ontrackmagazine.co.uk/web/content/wp-content/plugins/js_composer
Then you can install the plugin from the theme panel.
Or you can follow the method Chris suggested as ftp is always the best solution. Simply replace the folder with the new one that comes with the theme.
Thanks.
Try install via FTP; always best way to install plugins with WordPress. Best to understand what/where is being installed on your site.
Hi,
The solution I provided has no such effect. You error comes from another source. The error states it cannto find this file: td_global.php: (Failed opening required ‘td_global.php’ ) Please reupload your theme files via ftp to restore theme to its initial state.
Thank you!
Hi,
1) The method Alin posted works as expected. The code adds a condition to check for a certain category. He used ‘vogue’ but you can change it to your own category name. You can ad multiple conditions if you know a bit of PHP: http://php.net/manual/en/control-structures.if.php
I’m not sure how saving is not possible. You need a text editor (we recommend notepad ++) and access to ftp. Then simply edit the file, add the code and hit the save button. (Please note that if you use a child theme, it will not work as none of the files inside wp-booster will work from the child theme)
The names of the post templates are specified here:
If you cannot get it to work, please note that custom work falls beyond what support can offer you so you might want to consider hiring some help as we cannot offer customization services. We can only point you in the right direction.
2) Regarding the AccessPress Social Counter plugin, we have no clue of it’s functionality as it’s not tested so we cannot provide a solution for it.
3)We do not recommend upgrading to pro as all of the features visual composer has to offer were tested with our theme. If the pro version provides even more features, there is a chance they will not work as visual composer was adapted to work with our theme. That is why we provide it bundled with the theme and we provide the updates ourselves.
Thank you!
I have an odd problem. My site has a number of different custom post types. When I go into Visual Composer, in the Roles Manager and set it so that Visual Composer is accessible to these other custom posts types, it works fine for a while but then always resets back to just being available on Page post type.
I go back into Roles Manager, select the other post types again, and then it works until it resets itself again. This can happen once a day or every couple minutes. There doesn’t seem to be any logic as to when it happens.
Related to this, I bought a paid version of Visual Composer in case I need to get support from them. How do I integrate a paid version into the site? I tried several ways: add via wordpress backend upload and via FTP, but neither method worked and in fact caused 500 server errors.
Thanks
Greg
Hi
Please make sure that you installed the child theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/ clear all caches and test again.
Regarding the plugins installations only Visual Composer it’s a required plugin, others are optional. If you still can’t manage to install them via WordPress try the ftp method. For more details about this check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/just-installed-last-newsmag-version-but-cant-update-visual-composer/ I offered there a solution for Visual Composer but the steps are the same for each plugin included in theme’s path.
Thanks!

1- We install WordPress – OK
2- Install the Newspaper Theme (FTP) – OK
3- And when we activate Newspaper Theme >>> WE SEE WHITE SCREEN. Web site is http://www.izmirim.com.tr
And we made true DEBUG and we can see this error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘td_api_tinymce_formats’ (T_STRING) in /var/www/vhosts/izmirim.com.tr/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php on line 3709
We need fast help. We can give server ssh, wordpress panel pass and more…
Thanks.
Make sure VC is disabled from plugin panel
Delete plugin folder via FTP
Clear cache
Use WP-optimize to clear ‘transients’
Reinstall Visual Composer via FTP
Enable via plugin panel
Hi
First make sure you do a full backup of your current wp-install and database to: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
If you can’t deactivate/delete the old plugin’s version from wp-admin then you can use the ftp method to update the plugin.
First unzip the js_composer.zip file on your computer, make sure it’s V 4.9 which is included in theme path. After this step login on your account using ftp, navigate to /your-wp-install/wp-content/plugins delete the js_composer folder then upload the new one. After this step you should be able to activate the plugin from wp-admin.
Thanks!
