Hello Stephen,
Unfortunately the envato toolkit sometimes gets glitchy and does not work properly. Please use the ftp method of updating your theme as it’s the best way to go about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uplGTdbuJ-g
Thank you!

Hi
First of all make sure you do a backup of your current theme/wp install and database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and in case something goes wrong in the update process you can always go back to the previous working version and try again. Then you have to edit the indicated file on your computer using a text editor. The file can be found in the folder that you downloaded from themforest here: http://screencast.com/t/92Jf4vsBt5QN After you make the changes upload the file via ftp on your server.
Thanks!
Hi
Just trying to install the revolution slider and I cannot understand your instructions. You say it is available here (see below) but where is this file usually located? Your links sent me to Cloudflare but this does not give any instructions on how to instal the slider. Can you please step up with some clear instructions please.
Newspaper-tf\plugins\revolution_slider_5
I assume that the file is located in an ftp somewhere but again there are no clear instructions on how to install.
Hi,
I suspect you forgot to add one of the lines provided above. Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , include a link to this conversation and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look at the code.
Thank you!
I have 1.7 version theme. When I make update to the last version it appears a lot of porblem!!!! Seems to be issue to wp-booster plugin… I try update theme by FTP simply override file…
HELP ME!!!
Looks like perhaps your directory is not writable or a server mis-configuration at hosting level. Theme doesn’t manage plugin install, WP does.
Best way to install plugins is actually download from the WordPress.org repo, then install via FTP on your site.

Hello rwilson,
Unfortunately, the file ads.php is not available to be edited from Dashboard. You have to set it in another editor, as example Notepad Plus and update via FTP to your database. First of all, please do a backup to your database for greater safety. http://screencast.com/t/clN9dB2U
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
Unfortunately these errors were caused by wordpress 4.4 and were fixed in the latest version of the theme. You will need to update in order to fix them. Please update your theme via ftp and check again. It could have been a temporary glitch. You can also try it without plugins and clear cache to rule out a plugin conflict.
If the problem is still there after the update and after you disable the plugins, then please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look. Also include a link to this topic.
Thank you.
Hello,
Please try to reinstall the theme via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and make sure you try it without other plugins. Disable all of them and then install visual composer. You can also check for hosting settings. Please use this guide to see if your settings are in order: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thank you!
Hello,
You will have to access the files via ftp and use a text editor to add the line in the php files. It cannot be done through wordpress. You can update your theme to the latest version as this issue was fixed in the current version.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’m using the WP RSS Aggregator and have applied the following line of code:
add_filter( ‘wprss_ftp_link_post_title’, ‘__return_true’ );
This works fine on all the category pages but the only place it DOES NOT WORK is the homepage. This is currently blocking my site from going live and I’ve been told it’s theme related.
The instructions I followed were:
1. Go to ‘Installed Plugins’.
2. Click on ‘edit’ under ‘WP RSS Aggregator -Feed to Post’.
3. Paste add_filter( ‘wprss_ftp_link_post_title’, ‘__return_true’ ); before the first line of code and you’re done. Everything should work as you want it, ie, click on the link and it goes to the original article.
Is there anywhere I can also add that line of code within the Theme Editor that will fix the homepage? (I’m not a developer/coder at all so please bare that in mind when replying.)
Thanks!

Hello,
Lucian replied via email and asked for FTP access: http://screencast.com/t/5fDCsaigce
Please provide it as soon as possible because the support will be on a halt due to the winter holidays. So if you cannot provide it today, only Monday will we be able to provide an answer. (see the support holiday schedule at the top.)
Thank you for your understanding.
Happy Holidays!
Hello,
Unfortunately we have no reports of this issue and we could not recreate it on our end. If you tried disabling all plugins except visual composer and the problem is still there, please check any custom modification you made to make sure all tags are closed so your code will not affect the functionality of the theme. If the code is OK or there is no custom code, then please install the theme again via ftp (install the latest version 6.6.3) as something might have gone wrong upon install.
You can also check your system status to see if all parameters are set properly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thank you!
After installing the latest version 5.1.5 of revolution slider, it cause a serious internal server error when activating the plugin, and I had to rename the plugin folder manually by FTP client software to bring back the admin console. Have I missed something about installing this plugin or anyone can help to solve this problem? Thanks!

I DID IT! OMG I ACTUALLY DID IT!
Seriously, you don’t even understand what a feat this was. I’m not the most technologically savvy person and have never done any coding in my life. The apex of any coding I’ve ever done was the changes to my site’s copyright in the footer, that’s the most complicated thing I’ve ever done. I really thought this FTP stuff was going to be over my head, and I’m even using a CHROMEBOOK as my main computer right now, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t just figure it out… almost by accident!
Anyway, thank you very much for your help. You too, @neotrope. You’ve both been extremely helpful. I’m still in complete shock that I was able to do this.
Hi
You need to switch the function position like here: http://screencast.com/t/NsQ0pEGSd
Regarding the file editing you should consider Chris’s suggestion to make a full back-up before making any changes. In case somethings goes wrong you can get back and restore the site to the functional install. The WordPress editor doesn’t include all theme’s files, for security reasons I believe. To apply your customizations just edit the indicated file on your computer using a text editor, then upload it via FTP on your server.
Hope this help.
Thanks!
For Windows I use TextPad to edit php files. on Mac BBEdit.
FileZilla best all around FTP tool.
You should ideally not edit files via the WordPress editor since you then have no backups. You should download theme via FTP, then on your PC/Mac, edit the files, keeping backup in case you mess something up. And keep track of changed files, as they will be over-written with theme updates.
As security measure you should also ideally disable the editor in WP so folks who get access to system through a vulnerability cannot rewrite core files or theme files.
Just some food for thought 🙂
Hi ihora,
Sorry for the late replay!
The td_011 field stores theme’s options, not sure to which hardcoded url you refer too however you shouldn’t have any issues concerning this as the theme has ssl support implemented so it should work. I have also tested this on my side and found no issues.
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com adn also provide wp admin and ftp access so we can check your site’s configuration and we will get back with a more accurate answer on this as soon as possible. Please also provide all necessary info so we can investigate this and also include a link to this conversation.
Thanks!
Hi
I’ve tested the latest version of the theme and also the child theme witout any customizations and works fine. Try to deactivate the child theme, deactivate all others plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also check if the changes made in child theme files are compatible with the main theme functionality.
Let us know how it goes please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your login information and and ftp access so we can take a closer look at the problem, also include a link to this topic. Before that make sure you back up the database and your site: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Thanks!
This is what I did:
I tried to update my News Mag theme to the latest, which I was running 1.7.1 I believe. I dragged and dropped the folder into my FTP (made a backup of everything). My website started to show a bunch of errors, so I decided to go back to the old version.
From there, I dragged and dropped the 1.7.1 back into FTP which returned the site back to normal. But the theme dashboard is now grey instead of blue and I can’t save anything. The save button no longer shows. Also when I go to custom javascript or css area, nothing comes up.
