Any update on locating the problem ?

This seems to be a site wide issue.. it does it on archive pages, related posts, basically everything..

I’ve tried to look, i’m hoping that you can locate the issue.. since i disabled all plugins and tested and it was still there, does it mean it would be a theme issue?

Yesterday i sent you FTP details and admin details, i hope you received the information.

Try renaming your plugin folder via FTP to xplugins, then login via admin. You should be back to your website.

Delete the plugin which appears to conflict with something ELSE you’re using and not the theme.

Then try renaming the plugin folder back.

Try logging in again. Then DISABLE all plugins except Visual Composer; re-upload via FTP fresh copy of the tag div speed booster which comes with NP6 (LATEST VERSION); then activate speed booster plugin.

If site works, then turn on other plugins one by one to see which one is the problem.

If you’re using caching plugin, caching service, you have to turn those *OFF* whenever you do major updates to your site or turn on new plugins which “rewrite” page content.

YOU ALSO DON”T NEED TO TYPE ALL CAPS AS THAT CAN GET A BIT ANNOYING TO READ FOR FOLKS HERE.

Hi,

Please deactivate and delete the Social Counter plugin, then install it using this panel – http://screencast.com/t/Q58ToflL and then check the version of the plugin – http://screencast.com/t/lLnUnUIWXO
If this doesn’t help try to connect via FTP and delete the old version of the plugin and upload the new one from the package that you have downloaded from themeforest.

Hi,

Please check the browser console while saving the settings in Theme Panel – http://screencast.com/t/Sw8EcYY3rB
The errors appear in red, to open the console(on google chrome browser) right click on the window and select inspect, then open the console tab – http://screencast.com/t/MDBxTAId9 – and save the settings.

Another solution would be to check the error.log file for clues. Usually you can access it via ftp or C-panel – http://screencast.com/t/oyIKg6c4V

Also try to disable all plugins and see if the issue is still there.

If nothing works send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look.

If you don’t want to share this information, the alternative would be to look for a professional (a friend who knows more about this) to help you identify the cause of this.

Hi,

You can update using patch files only if you use previous version for example update from 6.2 to 6.3.

Having issues uploading images now. Get error that says try again later. I changed a couple things, so Im not sure what it could be. I was trying to optimize the speed of the site and was changing some files but I think the more likely cause was I went from having my domain as http://www.21stkitchen.com/wp to http://www.21stkitchen.com, so Im thinking somehow the database is screwed up? Im not sure how to change the Media URL path, I could use FTP to directly insert the images into the folder, but then I’m not sure they would be formatted in to all the different sizes.

I have checked you site and did not found smooth scroll error in the console, but you have another js error – http://screencast.com/t/pxtj8Rw6ZI Did you have activated this feature from Theme Panel?
Please check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this error, also disable any js/css minifications and deactivate also cloudflare. Like I said there was an issue with smooth scroll but it was fixed in the latest version. Please make sure that you have updated your theme properly, also you can try to do this via FTP to make sure that all the modified files are overwritten – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hi,

You can deactivate the plugin and delete it via FTP and install the new version provided with the theme, you can find it in the /plugins folder.

I get this “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”, when activating Visual Composer screen and I have to load my website then back to dashboard and then that button is stuck on the dashboard. So something is up with the Visual Composer install. I have tried all different ways to install Visual Composer. FTP the install plugins under appearance and under the Newsmag settings and with the Plugins upload way. That is 4 different ways of installing the plugin and I still get this screen with “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

After going back to the dashboard it shows active with that open design options button on top.

Proper way to update Newspaper - reply

Hi,

It is specified in the documentation how to update your theme(A, B, C) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also check this video for FTP update(if you update via FTP) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ you will not lose any customizations, settings from Theme Panel, but the files modifications will be lost as all the files will be overwritten. If you use child theme for files customizations you will have to check update_log.txt file for each update and see what files had been modified so if those specific files are used in the child theme you will have to check your customizations to not break the functionality of the theme. Hi,

Please provide your site URL so we can take a look. Also please make sure that no files from version 4 of the theme remain after update like it is specified in the docs(this depends how did you updated FTP,wordpress..) and check if you updated also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder and check the version – http://screencast.com/t/nn2stdsARkr
If you follow all these steps from “how to update 4-6” guide and run the script check your page only with Visual Composer active an also clear cache. You need also to regenerate the thumbnails after update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Newspaper 6 should be regarded as a new theme, that’s why we recommend to make a clean install(I recommend FTP method) and make sure that no files from old version will remain there. Please note that in version 6 any customization(to the theme files, custom css) from old version will not work and you will have to re-add them.

Hi,

When you update your theme, you will lose all custom modifications to the theme files, you will not lose any theme settings/option/colors/custom css from Theme Panel.

Hey, I think it would be useful for the next version of Newsmag to customize the default image for when you have no thumbnail. Well, I know it can be done by replacing the image via FTP, but, c’mon, there should be an easy way.

RTE bug after applying child theme - reply

Hi!

I have done like you said:

* activated theme twothousandfifteen: same issue
* activated theme Newspaper 6 (since I am runing child theme): same issue
* deactivated the only plugins that I had installed (MCE Table Buttons, Visual Composer Widgets, Widget Builder) since I noticed this problem: same issue

This is definately not specific from my browser or machine since my customer has the same problem. Perhaps this is a stupid question but… could this be done by the server?

I can provide you the FTP and admin credentials so you can take a look if you want to. It’s not a live site yet so you can do whatever you want, I have backup copies. In that case, the only thing I need to know is when you are doing something there so that I don’t work with the site, so we don’t override each other’s work.

So… any other suggestions?

Yes we fixed the SEO problem in version 6.2.1, unfortunately we forgot to change the version of the theme, so you will have to download the latest version from themeforest and update using ftp method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also if you don’t want to update for the moment, here you can find a quick fix – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/urgent-title-changues-newspaper-6-2-bug/#post-57451
