Hello !
Yes ! You can update but make sure that you’ve deleted the old version first. Do not overwrite the files because it will cause a lot of issues. If you make a clean install of the theme and update your plugins everything will work perfect.
Here are some tips and tricks on how to update your theme and plugins. Also we do recommend updating via http://ftp.: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
Thank you !

I guess that you have forgotten to provide it.

Hi Fanpula,
Unfortunately, I cannot access your website so I can find the source of your problem. Make sure if you have correctly installed the theme via FTP way according to our documentation. The first step for WordPress debugging, please remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

What is the safest method to update the theme? Previously, the method recommended by TagDiv is to overwrite the theme files via FTP, but now I have come to know that you are not recommended this method anywhere. So, how can I safely update the theme? Should I update the theme via wordpress by deleting the old theme and install the new theme?
Administrator and plug-in installation error~!

Updated with http://ftp..
Hi,
The empty page template has been removed, now you can remove the header per page, using the header manager. An option will be added for the footer. If you require it, you can download it from here – http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/page-empty.zip
Place it in the main theme folder, upload it by FTP for example
– http://prntscr.com/mo17zp
Then select it for the pages you want. The footer will be removed and the header can be disabled
– http://prntscr.com/mo17bw
Editing the revolution slider blank template with the composer will cause problems. That would be useful if you wish to display only a slider provided by the plugin, by entering it’s shortcode in the page content, in the backend – http://prntscr.com/mo18vk
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi,
Please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,
I believe the hosting provider should be able to fix that, seems to be an issue with cURL. Maybe cURL is not installed on the server. Also if possible use PHP versions 7, 7.1 or 7.2.
Or you could install the plugins by FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/installation-failed-for-newspaper-tagdiv-composer-plugin/
Thanks
Hi,
From what I can see there is a problem with the homepage at the moment
– http://prntscr.com/nsnt3k
The rest of the website seems to work fine however. Looks like the theme stylesheet is not loading for some reason – http://prntscr.com/nsnv07
Maybe it is caused by plugins, try deactivating all non-theme plugins and clear the cache and CDN if used. If that does not solve it, you could try reinstalling the theme by FTP if possible. Delete the old theme and upload the new one (make a backup before)
It could also be an issue with the server, worth trying to contact the hosting provider and mention the issue to them.
Thanks

Hi,
@yannc04 Reinstalling the theme and then the mobile plugin from the theme plugins panel should work – http://prntscr.com/nrpqcz
However we could take a look at it if that doesn’t work, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login as well as cPanel or FTP. Include a link to this topic in the email.

I just updated my amazing Newsmag Theme from 4.8 to 4.9 via FTP way and… it’s a drama!
It seems that the backend works fine… and the homepage too…
But the rest of the site has some problems (menu problem, column not shown, Banner Google ADS not shown)! (Screenshot here: https://www.sgommo.it/vari/sgommo_problems.png)
The site is in the Maintenance Mode at the moment!
I have only Newsmag theme installed.
I hope you can help me!
Thanks so much!
