As for the featured images, there is no recommended size. The bigger the size of the image, the better the quality will be. But you will need to find a size that does not become a big burden for your website as bigger images will mean larger amounts of space occupied on the server and higher loading times. Usually about 800×600 or 1920x1080px will do. You can use the tagDiv Composer and set your thumb sizes as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/CJUsauI9KSd
Thank you!
Hi,
What would you say is the perfect feature image size I should tell my client to upload images as?. They’re worried about odd cropping (they aren’t the best photo takers for their stories), so I want to give them a good safe size to stick with and I’ll also tell them that they are cropped by the theme Centre Top as it says here.
Do I need to change the recommended sizes in the Media settings of WordPress too?
Thanks
Andy
Hi Team,
How to make all image post tile size of same size. ?
I have attached the image
check on left side of the image, its all are different sizes
Hi there,
I designed a page where I wanted to show several squares of photos. For this I used “Single background images” and chose not the original size of the picture but smaller sizes. This is very important for me due to the page load time.
Unfortunately “single background images” never uses the smaller size that I chose. It always takes the original one. I think this is a bug?
When I tried to make it with “single image” and chose the smaller size – this works. But unfortunately I can’t make squres with “single image”, it always stays the original aspect ratio.
all the best
Hello
I have just brought the full licensed version of newspaper. My test versions were working fine. However, with the full registered version all my images sizes are different in the category pages. I have a test staging site operating at the moment before I complete the site and cut it over to live.
As you will see here. All the images a different sizes even when setting them to uniform
https://www.techpressmedia.com/techbusinessnews/category/local-news/
How do I correct this?
I would like to add, I am getting the same issue but for the rest of my pages (categories, search page etc.)
https://www.gymtechreview.com/?s=reebok+jet+100
In the DivTag builder you can set the image height and image width (percentage based). It looks like something has gone wrong here, it should be minimum image height and width, not depending on the image size and width of your initial image. Which is why they are all different sizes.
I can fix this with CSS, but it would mean writing it all again for desktop/tablet/mobile, but there should be a fix for this soon.
It’s also an issue on your demo theme.

The images are all different sizes.

I came back to this to improve my page but I am unable to change the width of a single image beyond 240px. I am using the General tab “image width” for the Single image block.
It resizes smaller, but not larger, than 240px, which is the same size as “auto” makes it.
If you increase the size incrementally above 240px, it stops resizing while the border increases. Saving and viewing does not show any difference to within the editor.
No value entered into the General tab “image width” for the Single image block alters the width beyond 240px, although it does indicate a wider frame with a hatched margin, which alters with width change. This can be seen in the screen shot below, where I put in 700px for demonstration purposes.
TagDiv_single_image_resizing_issue_03-03-22.jpg
In the screenshot, below the single image is a Single background image block indicating the size I require. I’d prefer to use single image.
Can you help?

Hello @fwoedit!
They are cropped automatically: https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/ ; that’s why you can disable the thumbs you are not using. Set up your thumbs from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Block settings -> Thumbs on modules/blocks. If you deactivate a dimension from there, next time when you will upload an image, it will not be resized to that dimension.
After changing the thumbnail sizes you need to regenerate your thumbnails using a plugin. Check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
Thank you!
Newspaper seems to be making roughly 30 versions of each image that is uploaded. I disabled all plug-ins, so I believe it’s coming from the theme. Can you let me know how I can stop this from happening, as I have over 1.5 million files now?
I’m also running an outdated version of the theme; my plan is to update it in late March, because now is our busy season and I have been unable to upload it except via FTP, and I have been afraid of data loss.
Would appreciate any advice.
Hello @jose!
I just showed you how you can achieve an element with the features over image and the border radius on image. Of course you can achieve something like that, but it will require some time to arrange them how is in your screenshot, but is not impossible. You need to set up the image sizes and some settings regarding to the rows and columns.
Unfortunately, we do not have an element already set up exactly like in your screenshot.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi @bettina,
Unfortunately the topic at: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/the-image-2-could-not-be-loaded-2/ didn’t help, but it got me thinking!
The second image pops out correctly as a modal image when I (a) Set ‘General Modal Image’ ON and (b) set ‘Modal image’ OFF in the Image details when I edit the post.
You can see the settings at https://imgur.com/a/mU83OHr
BUT when I click on the Featured Image in the post, I get an error message “The image #1 could not be loaded”.
Here’s the code for the featured image that does not work correctly:

Hello @pmarxbraun!
I see that your images are so tall, unfortunately, there are no blocks sizes to fit your images. To build a new block with the sizes you need, this will require custom work which is not covered by the support team, sorry.
Thank you for understanding!
Hello @pmarxbraun!
Then please change the thumbnails sizes and regenerate again. Check these guides too: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hope that helps you!

Hello,
The mobile theme comes with its own templates/design for pages, posts, categories, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/3
The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.
This can be found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also, please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose what mobile version you want.
Thank you!
Hello,
In order to avoid misunderstandings, please provide more information about the issue (point me directly to the issue) or what you need to achieve, screenshots or a video.
Also, please make sure that you have enabled the proper thumbs with these sizes in order to show the featured images properly, check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ -> https://i.imgur.com/8rs5E6P.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/

Just removed a image optimizer and added the EWW image optimization – in the settings i was looking for the lower two options via the point 3 you mentioned above –
Web P Conversion & JS WebP Rewriting
However in the new or current EWW – it shows under WebP Conversion it shows:
WebP images are served automatically by Easy IO.
I have Easy IO turned on – but is there anything else I am to do.
Thanks
Also – as for image sizes on mobile / desktop – if i have a category x – and have single post template – is it possible to make it so the image always shows as a x wide by x tall image?
Hello @crodexter!
Please check this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ ; Some screenshots where you can change the image sizes: https://i.imgur.com/OYxNzc9.jpg ; https://i.imgur.com/UpGKfGv.jpg
Please note that these settings are not available for the standard templates or Mobile theme plugin.
Regardless of image size used for featured images, the theme will create thumbnails from them. These thumbnails will be loaded, not the full image. Still there are methods to optimize the thumbnails, see point 3 in this guide for example

Hello Bettina,
Thank you for the quick repaly.
I don’t understand what you mean that during the upload image size can be chosen.
Isn’t the size defined in theme? During the upload different image sizes are generated and that is defined in theme panel.
I wonder how to avoid different image sizes for different screen width since in html code image size depends on screen width.
Hello @crodexter!
Normally, the featured images from normal posts have the same sizes. Also, they have same sizes after you activate the mobile theme plugin. When you upload the images, you can choose the sizes how you’ll like to display for the featured images.
Thank you!
Here is example of code with multiple sizes for featured image
We have had to deactivate your mobile theme. After removing the mobile theme plugin see below :
Home page: https://www.appmysite.com/blog/
Image sizes on mobile: 636×392 and 150×84
Category page: https://www.appmysite.com/blog/category/mobile-app-builder/
Image sizes on mobile: 636×392 and 150×84
Why are 2 sizes being loaded on both the above page types? Are these the expected sizes?
