Hello drhitender,
Try to install the latest version of the theme which is Newspaper 7.4. All required plugins come bundled with the theme, like as Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1. Update the theme to the latest version of it, clear all your caches and check the results. I have the newsmag theme installed on my wordpress website. Lately i’ve noticed I have been having trouble posting embeded social media posts mostly for twitter. For example if I want to copy an embed twitter post into the editor, usually wordpress recognizes it and embeds it automatically. Lately i’ve been having problems where if I want to embed this https://twitter.com/Politicodivers2/status/782407010348326912 on a post, wordpress doesn’t recognizes it and just leaves it as is. I think it might be a theme issue since I disabled all active plugins and I still had that problem. I am using the latest wordpress version 4.6.1 and using the latest theme version 3.1.
Please help as this is very frustrating.

Hi:
I have been trying to install quick adsense plugin ( the WP Quad version) on newspaper 6.3 and it gives me a 404 error.
Yesterday I updated to Newspaper 7.4 and although it doesn’t gives any error at all it does not show any ads.
I also tried Adsensei plugin and it’s the same problem. Neither of them show any ads at all.
Does anybody had this problem? Any suggestion?

I just purchased this theme and have followed the standard theme upload through WordPress Admin CP but I keep getting the following message:
“Are you sure you want to do this?
Please try again”
This has never happened with a theme install before. The address is http://blog.mp3unsigned.com
I’ve deactivated all plugins just incase and have changed the theme to a few different options without any problems, the only problem I am having is getting Newspaper to install.
Please let me know what I have to do to get this working.

You have numerous errors, apparently introduced by Cloudflare. Test one of your posts with F12/console view in Chrome.
E.g.,

FastCGI, suEXEC and OpCache
Suexec is a part of the apache webserver that allows cgi scripts run as the user in whose directory they are installed, rather than as the user ‘nobody’ or ‘apache’. This can be convenient both for security and practical reasons. The security restrictions imposed by suexec are documented at httpd.apache.org.
But good conversation to have with host .. “I want best setup for WordPress sites…. ” — if they don’t know what that means, get a new host 🙂
I was able to finally reinstall visual composer and all is working well, now. Not sure what happened. Magic, I guess.
That is entirely up to you and your web host and has nothing to do with the theme.
Basically you want to work with host to “optimize for wordpress….”
You do not have to have OpCache installed … it’s “recommended” — and is part of server setup and not part of WordPress or the theme.

I have been reading some of the speed optimizing threads and many recommend to install/activate: OpCache.
So I contacted my host provider to have in installed on our VPS.
However, the replied that we currently have suPHP installed and its not compatible with OpCache.
IF we wish to have OpCache installed then they have to switch from suPHP to DSO mod_ruid2.
Is this advisable ? Switching to : DSO mod_ruid2 ?

Updated to WP 4.6.1 then theme 7.3.
Uninstall the vb plugin. Then upload it from your themefile (download it from themeforest account and unzip)

Been using AMP with theme since Nov. 2015.
Simply install the official Automattic (people who make WordPress) AMP plugin.

If using Yoast SEO, add the Yoast ‘Glue for AMP’ addon.
Ensure your site doesn’t break /amp/ endpoints by minifying, compressing, or rewriting the amp css (e.g., cloudflare, etc.).
I think that is about as “definite” an answer that you will get, as posted previously by the TagDiv theme. You could set up AMP yourself right now in 10 minutes. 🙂

To access theme panel any user would have access to entire theme panel. I don’t think you can limit just one panel to a “user role” — but TagDiv might have answer, but might require programming something with a consultant via the API/CLI.
Best bet is to install an ad management plugin that has user roles, and then use that instead of the built-in simple theme ad manager version, which is intended only for admins.
First of all, I would like to say that the widget tagDiv Slide works great since the first day I installed the theme, but eventually yesterday I installed 2 plugin, namely ‘Hide Widget’ and ‘WP Subscribe’. Today I saw the image in tagDiv Slide is ‘droping’ like this: image problem
I used ‘Hide Widget’ plugin because I only want people to see the mail subscription from ‘WP Subscribe’ in single post, etc only, but not on the front page. When I installed both plugin yesterday, everything looks fine and still in one place.

I don’t make any drastic changes except when I installed the 2 plugins above.
I remove tagDiv Slide widget and the mail subscription widget for a while, and I also deactivate ‘Hide Widget’ plugin.
I really like the slide and want to put it back 🙂

I have recently installed Newspaper7 on http://www.burgundygirl.com and am having an issue with a tabs section with Big Grid 5.
I currently have 4 tabs created on the homepage and want each to show posts from 1 single category. How do I link the tabs to a Big Grid 5 with 1 category showing?
That is not a safe method for my site. As I said, deactivating VC crashes the site because of the coding in functions.php. So there is no way to get to Step 2 when Step 1 crashes the site. I have to remove lines 205-207 from functionsphp, reupload the file, then reinstall VC, then put back the original functions.
What version of VC should we be using right now? I’m at 4.11.2, which is the most recent on Envato.

Yes @snaxzer I don’t minify CSS with any plugin except the one done in my CloudFlare account as explained in your article. Though I was using W3 Total Cache before but I have uninstalled it to follow your tutorial.
What could be happening???
Hi sorry for late response. Regarding your queries-
1. Visual composer is installed and active.
2. Newspaper v 7.3 is used
3. Dnt know version of visual composer. It was inbuilt with the theme when I purchased.
4. I am only using newspaper 7.3 theme. I believe this is mobile friendly. Not installed any other plugin related to mobile theme.
5. Tried with disabling all the plugins except visual composer, still problem remains same.
Am I missing something? ?

First of all, please try to update the theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.4), clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. I experience several problems with Newspaper 7.3
I couldn’t find anyway to fix them, so here I am.
First, I use Big Grid 7 from visual composer for my homepage.
Looks good on the desktop, but not appear on mobile.
Second, I use post template style #8.
The header background looks good on the desktop but not appear on mobile.
In fact, the author name falls behind the social buttons so it’s not visible to the readers.
Third, the sidebar in posts not appear on mobile.
I installed the theme on 2 different websites and they both have the same problem.
I’m using Newspaper child theme.

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test the site again and check if the problem is still there.
