Hello valnyc2016,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and required plugins (Newspaper 7.1.1 and Social Counter 4.1 and Visual Composer 4.11.2) via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ , clear all your caches (server caches), purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. The Visual Composer is fully tested with the latest version of the theme and works perfectly.
If your problem is still there after this, please try to make a new clean install with the latest version of theme and check how it will work.
Thanks for your message!
Hi,
Please contact your host and make sure that php multibyte module is installed and activated – http://php.net/manual/en/mbstring.installation.php
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hello pixelonline,
Please ensure that you have fully downloaded the packet from Theme Forest with our latest update and then make sure if you have fully updated your theme only via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ because this is the surest method in this regard. If your problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of theme and without any untested plugins and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hello Lawzing,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme with the latest version of the required plugins and also, you have fully updated your theme only via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ because this is the surest method in this regard. Try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches (and caches from your dedicated server -> contact your hosting provider if you do not have access), purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, if your problem will still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and let us know how it goes.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi, I just re installed the theme as suggested, however the problem still persist? is there any way to solve?
thanks advance.
Hello Gorobets,
I suspect this issue comes from your untested plugins. Please try to clear all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. You will have to clear all your caches, (server caches), purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and check it again and see how it will work.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!

If your problem is still there after this, please try to make a new clean install and install from scratch the theme with the latest version and check how it will go.

Hello. I installed this theme today and have been trying now for hours to get the visual composer work. Nothing happens. Also, mobile version shows me just one column of my website instead of all of it. Seems very difficult to get this theme work. Any other theme is easier than this one.

Hi Team,
Just couple of hours ago I have purchased Newspaper 7 theme. I am trying install this theme but getting the following error.
” Are you sure you want to do this?
Please try again.”
This occurs when I browse newspaper.zip to select for installation from wp-admin. Could you please pin point the error?
I installed Newspaper theme in my website lawzing.com. It was working fine for some time and now it is not showing up. Please kindly let me know.
Thank you
Hello gomerblog,
I suspect your problem comes from your untested plugins which you are using in our theme. Please notice this is not the default behaviour of our theme…the layout will have to be centred. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello paolobabaglioni,
After updated the theme, please ensure that you have deleted the old version of plugin from plugin area and then you will have to install in from the Premium Plugins from theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pbySxrlIIxDV and then activate from here -> http://screencast.com/t/A8Ly3rhes7v
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your message!
Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear all caches and purge cdn files. Then test again. This issue was caused in the past either by plugins or an incorrect setting on the server. if the problem persists please try to re-install the theme by following this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes and if the problem is still there, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look.
Thank you!
Hi
Have you made in changes in theme’s core files? If so you will have to keep track your changes and after the update it’s made re-add them in new files. If you didn’t made changes in theme’s files then you can’t update without any risks. Theme’s settings are saved in database not in theme’s files so they won’t be lost during the update.
However as a security measure make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Hi,
1) your social counter is not updated that is why it does not show up. Newspaper 7 requires version 4.1 of the social counter. Please disable and delete files for your current social counter plugin and then install it again from here: http://screencast.com/t/SZshTPHj
2) Please remove any custom css you might have regarding the header or the logo and restore the header to the theme default.
Thank you!
Hi,
If you switch your theme, there should not be any trace of the previous theme unless you have a strong cache in which case you need to clear all caches after you switch themes.
Please install the theme by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ or https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
The best thing to do when trying to learn a theme;s options and features is read the docs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hi,
For the icons, please remove any custom css you might have in place as the header css has been changed a bit and a h1 tag was added to the logo for seo purposes.
As for the social counter, you have not updated it. Please make sure you update your plugin by removing you currently installed one (disable and delete files) and install the new version from here: http://screencast.com/t/SZshTPHj
Thank you!
Hi, I just installed newspaper theme and demo, and found error Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_convert_encoding() in /home/acehjurn/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_video_playlist_render.php on line 164

Hello ikidolanan,
First of all, please ensure that you have fully updated your theme using the FTP method because this is the surest method in this regard and then you will have to increase the system status parameters according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/. So, if you cannot increase these parameters, please consult your hosting provider and ask them to do this thing. Try to disable all the active plugins and leave just Visual Compser to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello kanstan,
Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is important to do this because your untested plugins which you are using in the theme could interfere with the theme and might cause a lot of unknown issues.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello mflee,

Also, please try the theme without any untested plugins which might interfere with the theme and cause a lot of unknown issues.

Hi all,
I have purchased the Newspaper theme and have installed it on WordPress. I have a current custom theme active and whenever I go to edit the Newspaper theme all it has is a header and some post topics from my previous theme.
I am extremely new to buying and installing themes. Do I have to remove all my previous theme contents to make it work? Any help/pointing towards tutorials would be fantastic.
Thanks!
