Hello Eric_Vie,

First of all, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
I have checked your website in the mobile mode and I saw that you have the Chinese symbols instead of social icons and mobile menu. Usually, this kind of error appears when using CDN or loading fonts from a different source.
The solution to this issue is simple. You will need to add some code to your .htaccess file like this post suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

What theme version do you use? To have the same layout for mobile menu as on our demo you have to use V 3.0 of Newsmag. Try to update the theme at last version available on themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches then test again.

Thanks!

Hi Bogdan,

I’ve just cleared the cache and checked on my phone again, the front page still doesn’t seem to be working with the menu on mobile. It doesn’t slide out, still just adds the “#” after http://www.domain.com/

Thanks

Hi

Please make sure that you updated the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also deactivate all plugins, deactivate the child theme if you’re using, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again.
Also make sure that you have a menu set in theme panel > mobile theme > mobile settings: http://screencast.com/t/leHREem6tND

Thanks!

I’m okay with the sub-items showing on desktop, since I was able to use CSS to hide the sub-items there.

I pasted the links to my social networks in two of those fields, but they do not show up in my mobile menu. They work in the footer. This is what my mobile menu looks like:

It looks nothing like the demo menu.

Hello, I’m Giuliano from GExperience.it. We bought your theme Newsmag, but we found some problems and errors. As you can see from the screenshots, sometimes happens that featured images creates this problem.

Home problem
Youtube problem

Furthermore, in some articles with video featured, YouTube’s window does not resized correctly. Sometimes “modal image” doesn’t works and often we have problems with mobile menu & search buttons.
These problems happens randomly and often resolves by refreshing the page many and many times.
I thank you in advance for yours answers.

HI

Use this css to hide the social icons on mobile: http://screencast.com/t/IqydRn9o

.td-menu-socials{
display: none;
}

The old menu won’t work on V 3 because the html/css and js were changed. You will have to adapt it to new theme’s structure and this is not just a copy paste task.
Thanks!

Hi

Using that configuration for menu will create a similar result on desktop: http://screencast.com/t/cBGPbFZVBqhttp://screencast.com/t/X9AUW41jev The sub-items will be displayed under mega menu page and if that is ok you can use them like this.

Are you referring at social networks from theme panel http://screencast.com/t/ISmdXd4Q ? If so you just have to paste the link to desired networks in these fields and the icons will appear on both desktop and mobile devices. If this is not what you mean please provide more detail about what you’re trying to do so I can inspect it closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.

Thanks!

Hello muggi15,

The homepage when you are using the mobile theme will display you a Big Brid with 3 posts which come from your Featured Category sorted by latest and not RANDOM and then you will see the latest articles which display all the latest posts. Also, please notice that the mobile theme will do not render any Visual Composer shortcode than just only these two ->Big Grid Mob 1 and Mob 2 for latest articles modules. For your Page X and Page Y, you will do not get any content because you do not add it in Mobile Editor like this -> http://screencast.com/t/JRHwMcXY
On our video here -> http://screencast.com/t/BwWcHpUNk we wanted to highlight the sticky menu functionality. As you can see, there appear some blocks but it’s only for default mobile mode and not for the mobile theme because, at the moment, mobile theme does not render the blocks. On the future, we will make some improvements in this regard and we will add more option for our mobile theme because now it has very basic structure.
Unfortunately, we cannot say for sure where it is will be because this will depends only by our developers.
So, if you are not happy with our mobile theme and customizability for it, you can simply disable the mobile plugin and the theme will be switched to the normal/default mobile mode.

Thanks for your understanding!

hi,

is there a way to hide all social icons on mobile sub menu? (as far I know I hid all the social icons through theme panel)

these social icons http://www.screencast.com/t/voH9yPjC5Bo

I couldn’t find how to get those things off on theme panel.

if I can’t..

could you help me to revert back to mobile menu on newsmag 2.x ?
(what file to upload or any other ways)

thanks

Ah, I see there’s no simple way to make the mobile menu pull from a different menu than the desktop menu. I can use a mega page menu and place items under it, right? Only those items show in the mobile menu, but I can hide those items in the mega menu. Will this approach cause any problems? This is how I set up the menu:

But what about social icons in the mobile menu? They appear in the demo so I should be able to get that without any additional help.

My site has stopped displaying the mobile menu, when I click it on mobile – it just displays “#” in the search bar after the domain name.

How do I fix this?

Thanks for the quick response. We reactivated the mobile plugin and it seems to do the trick.

However, neither the menu icon nor the search icon appear in the header now after reactivated the mobile plugin, please assist.

Cheers.

(1) How to change which social media icons to show on mobile menu?

Thanks for the screencast.

Hi

1. What exactly do you want to change in mobile menu? The settings for colors can be found in theme panel > theme colors: http://screencast.com/t/LIPUyEomQQ
Please provide some exact detail about the desired result so I can inspect it closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.

2. The functionality of search buttons is the same, the only difference is in layout. However the response time may be influenced by how well your site is optimized and how fast queries are made.
make sure that your server meets the requirements specified in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/ also check if the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

3. We always include in theme’s path last version of Visual Composer available when the update is released. You can’t directly download Visual Composer from themeforest unless you bought it. Currently we test V 4.12 and after everything is ready a new update will be released.

4. I’ve checked your site and you’re using the default thumb for block 6: http://screencast.com/t/jPzMgHEOkcn if you want tu use a higher value for the thumb make sure that after the code is modified you regenerate the thumbnails.

Thanks!

Hmm.. OK.. I changed my colour scheme in Version 2 of this theme, and they disappeared on the login modal box only when I updated to Version 3… Was it accidental that my login modal box was taking on colours from the theme’s color panel in version 2?

I realise a few extra parts were added / split off with the new mobile menu that has been created, but I guess I just assumed whoever recoded the login box simply used a new range of style tags that had not been included in the color lists… but if you say it was never meant to be like that, fair enough.

It seems weird to me that the overide CSS that gets applied on the same page as the login window includes “.td-login-wrap” as an overide (it never applies, because it’s not specific enough) – even in your version 3 color code overrides…..

..”.td-login-wrap” was the old class that was used in V2’s old login box used to use before you introduced .mfp-content in front of that selector….. Are you sure? If so, that’s a waste of a css tag if it’s not meant to do anything..
