Hey, first of all, a great theme you’ve created. Now to the issue. Since updating the theme and enabling both mobile theme as well as the AMP plugin, post views are not counted on AMP pages. We use WP Post Views plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-postviews/) for that. The theme’s native Ajax counter doesn’t work either. Any help would be appreciated.

I already do the above steps. First I select Paired in AMP plugin, then activate tagdiv Mobile Theme. But still it shows broken internal pages like this-

https://www.gkkhoj.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Screenshot_20190307-193710_Chrome.jpg

on one of site – itkhoj.com, it works, but on https://www.gkkhoj.com it doesn’t.

3- I already tried that but the mobile theme is to limited. I can’t control anything. There’s no filters, no page customization and above all it automatically deactivates some plugins that I need like here https://labussolanews.com/eventi/.
However I think it is not normal to have a score of 20 or less without activating the mobile theme. There must be something wrong.
I tried PageSpeed Insights in that page https://labussolanews.com/la-redazione/ where there is practically nothing. No articles, no filters or something that can slow down the site. The score is 17 here… I’m considering to move on to another theme

5- Ok i’ll try. Thanks.
7- you can find the ads at the top of every article like here (only on mobile, in desktop ver. looks fine.)
https://labussolanews.com/cultura/donne-e-lavoro-al-fulgor/

8- this is my adsense ad code
<script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– 002- 300×250 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:inline-block;width:300px;height:250px”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-8390561613148257″
data-ad-slot=”7639744078″></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
How can i add that background?

Hi,
I was wondering, how can I make the mobile theme plugin ( the separate mobile theme not the responsive version of course ) use custom fonts? Specifically I am interested in changing the post titles and body text to use a google font like open sans for example, or maybe change the font size even ?

In case you were wondering, yes google fonts are accepted on amp pages : https://www.ampproject.org/docs/design/responsive/custom_fonts

By choosing the default size and font type in theme’s settings does not influence the mobile version

Thank you

Thanks! It’s working fine. Also, I want to remove the footer logo & About US text (https://prnt.sc/mv40r3) on mobile theme.

Can I enable default social share button only mobile or mobile theme or AMP version?

Let me explain what I mean by limited
I wanted to disable breadcrumbs, i wanted to disable author name, I wanted to disable categories to show on the post page
However even though i disabled them in the theme settings … they did not carry over to the mobile theme as I was expecting.

Are there really no customization available for the mobile version of the theme expect for changing the color in 1-2 places ?

Hi there,

So when I disable the AMP settings (theme panel), than I have the option to enable or disbale the AMP on pages and keep AMP active on blog posts?

Did some tests and whatever I put the button in the theme panel (mobile theme amp), doesn’t make any difference.

I think there is still some work to do on the AMP functionality. Also the 3 posts and latest articles are a bit boring.

However is it even a question, … is there a future for AMP? If you ask me, stripping down pages to perform well = same result in performance. But AMP is not user friendly for content … if you ask me.

So my testing is just contribution to the theme development. I’m not into using AMP on production websites.

Hello,
Sorry Thomas but unfortunately if you do not like the mobile theme implementation you will need to use an external amp plugin. Use the official amp plugin and disable the mobile theme. It will provide the default amp template originally provided by WordPress. If you need more option there are lots of free alternative AMP plugins to choose from. I’s sure you will find one that will suit your needs

Thank you!

Hi,
Any plans to re-work the mobile theme ? With the latest amp changes I am forced to use the mobile theme to enable proper amp functionality. But, the mobile theme is NOT customizable. I have wanted to use the custom pages I created with the tagdiv composer…. however now I am somehow forced to use the mobile plugin but it does not have any customization possibilities.

This was not a good idea.

Any plans to change this ?

Hi,

Unfortunately, I feel sorry about hearing this from you! Please notice that’s not mandatory to use this plugin if you do not like the layout and this configuration. You are free to search for another plugin and surely you will find one that will satisfy you, sorry!
The initial AMP plugin we released was designed based on the first version of the official AMP plugin for WordPress. Even though it was a tagDiv plugin, it still required the API of the official plugin. The changes came from the official plugin as they limited the theme support in the version we used and instead of updating it, they launched a new version with another, better implementation. They also announced the initial release will shortly become deprecated. This is why we decided to abandon our initial AMP plugin and use the new AMP implementation through the mobile theme. The new version required a specific theme for it as it would not have worked through the standard theme. There was no decision to take, unfortunately. If we have not made this step, soon the AMP plugin would have stopped working once the official AMP plugin implementation we used became deprecated.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Besides the fact that you have activated the amp, you also have to activate the mobile theme and then activate the AMP functionality from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/7iyT8SMWnkVB

Hi,

You mean this new AMP ads option added in the mobile theme plugin?
http://prntscr.com/mv2dq5
That option will show if the mobile theme if active for AMP – http://prntscr.com/mv2ev5

You would have to deactivate the mobile theme in order for that setting to not be loaded.

Thanks

3. You should use the mobile theme which is created specially for mobile. For example this theme demo uses the mobile theme plugin with these results – http://prntscr.com/mv1xwa
Now the mobile theme can also be integrated with the official AMP plugin as well
https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

4. I see the problem, I will add it on the list so it can be investigated. Sorry for the inconvenience.

5. You can use a cloud post template – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Here you can preview and experiment with cloud templates
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/All
Within a cloud post template you can arrange the post elements as needed. With the predefined post templates it is not possible.

6. For standard Adsense ads, in the theme panel you can choose a specific size per device if that is what you want to do, for example – http://prntscr.com/mv27a7
https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-adsense-overview/
For different kind of ads like auto ads we don’t have any documentation I can provide. I haven’t made testing with such ads, maybe try searching online for some tips or suggestions.

7. I remember seeing something like that on another website, quite unusual. In that case the ad code seemed to have an inline negative margin left for some reason. This resulted in the ad not being centered anymore. I believe we fixed it with CSS at the time. I could take a look if you can post a link to where this happens.

8. Maybe by surrounding the ad code with a div container and add style to it, like a background color. Some padding or additional CSS may be needed. Or with CSS directly, something like this – http://prntscr.com/mv2cck

Hi Guys,

I have updated to the latest version of Newspaper v9.6. After the latest update, i have enabled mobile theme & amp plugin as per your suggestion.

Now i am receiving an amp validation issues of “The mandatory tag ‘head > style[amp-boilerplate]’ is missing or incorrect.” when mobile theme is enabled. I tried deactivating the mobile theme, there is no validation error. Can you help resolve this issue caused by the mobile theme plugin.

Hi,

This https://www.screencast.com/t/s9vhLEx8Smx is a advertisement/remember that you have activate this option -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6DWH6xgV8 and you can not longer deactivate the amp on post/page, this will do automatic, if you deactivate this option https://www.screencast.com/t/6DWH6xgV8 you’ll have again this option -> https://www.screencast.com/t/53Lam7ZfRh -> https://www.screencast.com/t/lT8KVP3FqyT

For this error https://prnt.sc/mupdgl here is the fix.
You’ll need to go in wp-content/plugins/td-mobile-plugin/td-mobile-plugin.php
and at the bottom of file set this code $theme_options = get_option( 'td_011' );
https://prnt.sc/mv165e
https://www.screencast.com/t/NclX3sIf

Relented topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/errors-after-update-2/

Thanks, Simon, It is good if there’s an option available to edit or modify the homepage layout on the Mobile Theme & ability to add more inline ads in-between the paragraphs on single template TD-Cloud library. Please Add this in the suggestion for an upcoming update.

Hello

I was very happy with your theme for years.

But the last update is not a cool things.

New AMP features break all. Nothing shows correctlu as previously.
We deactivated it.

Fact that the plugin extension show nothing on page is a big mistake.
We have to duplicate so many info in all pages, is insane!
You must put a automatic duplicate content when it is activate.
And after could change the mobile content if there awant or not.

+ homepage only showw last articles and when I paste the VC code… it show in front the code!

+ we use for years the plugin UserPro to manage access memberq and there access to some content pages.
Now the profil page don’t show anything in mobile.

So we have to deactivate mobile plugin plugin too!

Really not happy with all the major problems!

Hope you will fix this quickly and properly meaning:

AMP page showing nicely as previously
mobile theme duplicate automaticaly code already existing
possibility to create a specific homepage
possibility to duplicate existing menus for change some few change for the mobile versions

Hi,

Please check the Theme panel, AMP section and try to change the settings from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QT7zLnVM8 to Native or Paired. Hi,

Please use only this option -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rdGNpNA8
How to Make an AMP ready Website with Newspaper Theme ->https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

If you want to disable the amp you can check this settings from here and use another amp plugin -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CRvuTCVj delete it from theme will also work; after that you can install a new plugin for AMP.

Thank you!

Hi,

That is how the official AMP plugin template looks. This plugin doesn’t have many customization settings, except some color settings in Appearance->AMP. More can only be done with code manually, for example
https://fewerthanthree.com/tutorial/customizing-google-amp-for-wordpress-styling-your-amp-pages/

If you don’t want to use the mobile theme you can use the AMP plugin on it’s own and customize it. Or use a different AMP plugin that has more options.

When the mobile theme is active content in pages that you created with the composer for example, will be blank on mobile (except the homepage which has a predefined layout)
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Each page will require two versions, one for desktop and one for mobile (the mobile editor must be used).

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
