Hi. Hoy can I disable Google Fonts on my website? It’s because I want to optimize my website and improve my Google PageSpeed Insights 😉

Hello,
I would like to maximize my website, so I used your tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

however, doing a scan with google pagespeed tells me that two css resources are blocking the display of above-the-fold content.

https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300italic,400,400italic,600,600italic,700%7CRoboto:300,400,400italic,500,500italic,700,900

and

https://bpe.fun/wp-content/cache/min/1/5de17f7f6e9875f928f344da488ff29d.css

is it possible to include both of its files in the td-speed-booster.php file

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey guys,

The newspaper theme doesn’t seem to be the best when it comes to mobile optimization?

For reference my site is called startforart.com

When scrolling down any page, it can awkwardly scroll left and right aswell, instead of straight down.

Also 5 of the 7 navigation links on the navigation button are not working.

I am confused on how to solve this problem, can i get any help from someone?

Thanks

Also use wp-optimize plugin regularly.

a) ideally you should have made backup to roll back before trying a new plugin

b) after disabling the rogue plugin, you can try
– a — clear transients with wp-optimize plugin
– b — resave permalinks to also clear micro-transients
– c — fully clear cache in your web browser
– d — try testing page in diff. web browser after all of the above

(I don’t work here; just food for thought)

Note that your web browser has caching (e.g., Chrome); and also WP does have some micro caching (‘transients’) in place which can be cleared using WP Optimize to clear those transients (I use it once a day here to clear cobwebs per site).

Also, technically most modern versions of PHP 5.6 and up have ‘opcache’ running which helps to do caching of stuff like pages with many requests.

So, if you view home page — all those things cache the page in your browser — and then you do new post, go back and look, new post not there. This is normal. However, a NEW visitor would only see the newly updated content.

(short answer was YES! and NO! — theme not doing that; it’s WP, PHP/Server side, and browser cache… )

Hi,

If you should decide to switch to the tagDiv composer, all pages created with Visual composer will have to be recreated. This composer is created specially for our themes, meaning it is more optimized and tuned.
Elements specific to Visual composer are not available in the tagDiv composer. We plan to add more original elements, options and features added exclusively for the tagDiv composer. This will happen in future updates.
You could wait and see what these updates will bring and make a decision then.
Maybe set up a sub-domain and install the theme there, and make tests with the tagDiv composer.

Thanks

Hello meri,

You should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at your console so I can saw the loaded resources. Notice that thing does not depend on our theme because it’s just a loading from Instagram and Pinterest. Also, if your website is not well optimized is there are great chances to get a small score at the page speed. Please begin to optimize your website from this useful manual here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Simion,

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, it wasn’t any of the plugins and I have limited access to php.ini because I’m on an optimized wordpress plan (regretfully) that doesn’t allow changes to the php.ini or .htaccess.

Instead, I’d like to make another request. Instead of showing the Prev / Next buttons, can I replace it with a simple button that says: View More? and links to the Category page?

Also, is there a way to show the post date below the Post title in the mega menu?

Thanks!

General tip:
make backups of site and plugins periodically, and BEFORE updating plugins in case the plugin is broken or buggy. This way you can ‘roll back’ immediately to restore working site.

Also with Yoast, I find it useful to
a) clear transients with WP Optimize plugin
b) resave permalinks

Hello Fabio Russo,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/

Working for me, but my setup is highly optimized and i avoid funky plugins, dont use speedbooster, dont use multiple pagebuilders, etc.

Always remember when doing updates you seriously need to clear all caching, clear transients, and browser cache cleared. Many java issues are client side.

Hello,
I need to speed up my website and the theme.
How can I do?

I already use wp rocket and wp optimize, but not enough to speed up the website.

Hi,

Infinite loading pagination is available for category pages on mobile, if you do not use the mobile theme plugin. The mobile theme plugin is optional, you can choose not to activate it. Then the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile devices
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The plugin is optimized for performance on mobile, it does not feature advanced options like on desktop devices.

Thanks

Hello again!

My apology for sending 2~3 emails a day, sometime 4 seeking for your help.

However, this is all brand new to me, and I got another huge question from Bing.

Can you please tell me what to do? I don’t even know where to go to operate these commends.

Verify ownership for: jazko.com
Option 1: Place an XML file on your web server

Download BingSiteAuth.xml
Upload the file to http://jazko.com/BingSiteAuth.xml
Confirm successful upload by visiting http://jazko.com/BingSiteAuth.xml in your browser
Click the verify button below

Option 2: Copy and paste a <meta> tag in your default webpage
You can add a <meta> tag containing the authentication code to the <head> section of your default webpage.
<meta name=”msvalidate.01″ content=”23D518B6F43448754E67E202E536BA23″ />
An example:

<html>
<head>
<meta name=”msvalidate.01″ content=”23D518B6F43448754E67E202E536BA23″ />
<title>Your SEO optimized title</title>
</head>
<body>
page contents
</body>
</html>

Option 3: Add CNAME record to DNS
Add CNAME (alias) record with name c89e928f523800c2a4cd246e7c22896b and value verify.bing.com.
So your DNS provider will resolve host c89e928f523800c2a4cd246e7c22896b.jazko.com to verify.bing.com.
How to add a CNAME record to:

Hello cecil_l,

I’m sorry but please notice that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change the Mobile Theme and also, only the General Responsive Mobile mode, sorry! As you can probably know, our theme has two way for displaying the website in mobile mode. The first one is General Responsive Mobile mode which displays the exact theme’s layout which is displayed on desktop but optimized for mobile to be responsive and the second way is through Mobile Theme which is a special plugin for mobile and which has a default layout according to the following useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Did you do normal practice of clearing transients after update, e.g., with WP Optimize, and resaving permalinks to clear WP micro caching; clear any caching / CDN buckets, and clear browser cache before re-logging in ?

Just food for thought. Also useful to review changelog and posts about changes, as you likely could have just edited the one ajax file to modify the XSS issue and be done with it for the day.

( I don’t work here. But feel your pain ! )

In addition, I checked YOAST SEO plugin, and it said as below:

XML Sitemap

Generated by YoastSEO, this is an XML Sitemap, meant for consumption by search engines.

You can find more information about XML sitemaps on sitemaps.org.

This XML Sitemap Index file contains 4 sitemaps.

http://jazko.com/post_tag-sitemap.xml 2017-10-22 10:35 +08:00

My question is, how many xml site maps should I register? the more the better? In general, how many should search engines to look at , in order to maximize or optimize the visibility of this website to the world? Just a general idea, if you are not certain of this as the rules changes everyday…i heard? not sure if it’s true.

It means that it’s not on the built-in list of plugins which get automatically moved and optimized by the plugin.

if you read the docs, you can manually add that to the plugin to use them together.

WooCommerce did a notable update this month. Might have a bug.

After updating I usually do this
a) clear transients with WP-Optimize plugin
b) resave permalinks

I have an issue with the last version of WooCommerce where the coupon setting won’t let me pick a single item to exclude … supposedly fixed in new version, but have not yet updated (doing that on Saturday).

Woo keeps updating with stuff, but then fixing bug, but then introducing new bugs that break plugins and other stuff. Annoying.

That was probably just “I know how you feel….” comment there, sorry 🙂

Clear it?

https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/understand-caching-in-wordpress-part-1-the-basics/

see if your hosting platform using cache plugin (e.g., GoDaddy); see if you have a caching plugin installed/active (good to know WHAT plugins you’re running); clear your browser cache.

You can also try
a) clear transients with free WP-Optimize plugin (I use it literally every day!)
b) resave permalinks

But, see the article link to understand what caching is.

Theme has nothing to do with your content on instagram — perhaps optimize the images you upload to instagram before you upload them?

Theme can’t change images on other sites; if it’s loading from the cdn, that’s where the images are. See the instagram website for developers, to learn more. 🙂

There might be some ‘preview’ plugin you can use which loads preview images locally of your instagram feed, and saves those images locally .. which might be faster, although would load up your local storage, and might actually be slower … but don’t have recommendation on that.

(I don’t work here; just veteran/dinosaur in this industry)

Hi,

I am using SiteGround hosting for my wordpress.
They have their own caching system called SG Optimizer with static, dynamic and memcached.
I would like to know that shall I install w3 total chache plugin too or this enough for caching?
And what about memcached system? Do you recommend me to active that?

Regards.
