I know you’ve had a couple of threads like this already: this one and this one, for example.

I just had the same issue, and decided to investigate cron schedules. Sure enough, by page load, all custom cron schedules are wiped out except for the “three_days” one that Newspaper adds.

The issue is in your cron schedule filter.

In td_js.php in the constructor for td_version_check you add the filter:

add_filter( 'cron_schedules', array($this, '_schedule_modify_add_three_days') );

Here is your callback:

function _schedule_modify_add_three_days() {
    $schedules['three_days'] = array(
        'interval' => 259200, // 3 days in seconds
        'display' => 'three_days'
    );
    return $schedules;
}

As you can see, you are missing the $schedules parameter. This would bring it in line with WP’s reference for the filter.

(Ironically, in version 7.8.1, this filter with the same bug appeared in td_cake.php. In 8.1, td_cake.php has the correct filter but the file is commented out. I guess you lost track of this bugfix!)

Temporary fix for other users: Either modify the theme file directly by pasting this code into Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_js.php … or set any add_filter calls for the cron_schedules hook to priority 11 or greater so that they take place after the one in td_js.

Maybe I’m wrong, but once updated to 8.1 (I’ve updated my old 7.8.1 using the available patches) on the frontend a “Live CSS” div is available even for not logged users.
Its id is “tdw-css-writer” and its title reads “Edit with Live CSS”.
Its display property is obviously set to none, but in the source still appears, IMHO, with no reason.
I haven’t investigated on other not necessary code lines so far.

Could you please give it a check? I’ve searched for info here in the Support Forum, but it seems like nobody noticed it (or maybe didn’t care of such a detail!).

When anyone copies a link to my website URL, and posts it say on FB. It shows a picture from the slider on the home page (not the photo I want from that slider, but I can live with the one its sharing), but the text is reading as pic credit to another random business that has an old event in my event calendar! So it reads as though that picture has been submitted by that business which is not the case, and i really don’t want the short text to show any credit anyway as it should show a short intro about the business which it is not.

Help!

I have this page, which is using smart list 1 template. And because of that there are no ads in the post – no top, no inline, no bottom. The ads work on other types of posts.

Hi, is it possible to insert a shortcode from another plugin (thrive leads) into the page using the tagDiv composer?
I have tried using raw html and text element but neither seem to work. Is there another way or insert shortcodes or do they not work with tagDiv composer due to being a shortcode within a shortcode?

I’ve read in these forums that AdGlare is a good solution for running custom ads and using non-Adsense networks inside the Newspaper theme, however I’m unable to get the ads to show up. Currently the site is in staging, but I’ve tested in other websites that are live and the AdGlare tags show the ads as intended.

Questions:
1) Will those ads show up in a staging environment, or does the site need to be live?
2) Anyone else having similar issues and how did you overcome them?
3) Any other ad networks or ad systems (like DFP or AdGlare) that you’ve found to work well?

Thanks, and really need this to work. Adsense is not an option for our site because we sell advertising directly and rely on premium networks that pay better to backfill unsold inventory.

Hi, I have this issue where my view count isn’t working when we are using mobile and different PC.
To be specific, whenever we posted a content in our website, only certain PCs show the accurate number of views (viewers and social counter). In mobile and in other PCs, the amount of views is static and does not show any changes.

Hi,

Quick question about header ads. I’m currently using the default header style (number 1) on my website mmacentral.nl. However if I clear the code in the theme panel it shows up on mobile as a “missing image” icon and presses the main menu down. What I want is for it to just disappear completely and have no white space above the main menu at all.

Do I have to use another header style for it? Because I installed the default newsmag theme demo before and it didnt have the white space (but it does use header style 1 if I’m not mistaken)

I know there has been a lot of talk regarding however you´re allowed (or not) to place AdSense ads in the sticky sidebar. Regardless of the discussion I was thinking that maybe it would be possible to use some kind of double sidebar trick (CSS or with code or settings)?

My thought is to place a not-sticky sidebar containing an adsense ad (and some other content) first. Then below that place a sticky sidebar (with other information and affiliate ads etc.) that follows the user as he/she scrolls.

Could this be possible? It feels so empty when you scroll down not having the sticky sidebar to fill up the space on the right 😀

Hi Team, I found that my Newspaper-Theme Panel. it auto added in unknown ads under “your header ad” section.

May i know, how to remove entire ADS fuction in the theme panel? or other solutions? Thanks.
