- TutorialsDefault Block Settings Guide
Hi,
Each theme version works with the composer version provided with it. The composer will try to update itself, but if this fails it will remain deactivated.
There will be a message mentioning if the plugins were deactivated and that you should update them
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1EFP3tx1nE
In that case you have to update it manually (by update button) in the theme plugins panel, like this example for some plugins that were deactivated
– https://www.screencast.com/t/8jMMCjOg7y1W
@Jair Prandi In some cases login issues (I believe you get a 500 error) were solved by increasing the WP memory to a higher value. For most users a 256M value would be enough
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
@Sydney Archdiocese If you would create a new topic and mention the problems you are facing in detail, it would be very helpful. Also we will be able to help you in that case.
If shortcodes are displayed in pages, please check if the tagDiv composer plugin is active after the update.
Thanks
Hello Kennplus,
Please make sure that your theme has been correctly updated to the latest version of it via FTP way and also, ensure that you respected the theme’s requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
i have gone through all of these and no luck. I disabled the server side cache, renamed the file and upgraded all of the resource requirements beyond the specified minimums and still nothing. All other plugins are disabled and I don’t have wordfence or any other security running on the site as I am working thru this. Any other thoughts?
Hi,
Please make shore you have set all the Requirements for Newspaper from here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also make shore you upload just the folder themehttps://www.screencast.com/t/NFbXktQAvskP ( theme folder unzip ).
Lets us know how it works.
Thank you.
Hi,
Also in some cases this was caused by insufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/
Also if you use Wordfence try to set it on learning more
– https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/
Thanks
Hi,
That could be caused by limited or insufficient resources, the theme has these requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In some cases 500 errors were solved by increasing the WP memory, for most users 256M would be enough.
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe the execution time is limited by the server, you could try and increase the max execution time and WP memory

Hi,
Please make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks.
I’ve done all suggested fixes I’ve found on the forum for the error “Error at rows: 1(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content” and nothing has fixed the issue.
*Updating php.ini and .htaccess according to system requirements listed in https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
*Adding to .htaccess:
<IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule>
*Adding to wp-config.php file:
define ( ‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, true );
The only issue still popping up in the system status is WP MEMORY LIMIT, which says is set at 40MB but all of my settings are actually set to 256MB (even got my host involved to make sure and they confirmed).
I have also created a different posts page and have the same problem; the previous post page would then be opened for editing without a problem.
So I am not too sure what the ultimate problem is here, but I am not able to edit any page designated as a posts page.
Hi,
Newspaper theme panel settings will not save. Just spins. Hosted on Siteground shared plan. All parameters meet the requirements for Newspaper Theme. Can you please advise – I have seen same issue in forum with others using Siteground but it always results in direct contact with support and no resolution listed in forum. Thanks!
Hi,
There seems to be an ad that is no longer working.
Please check if you have some ad in Newspaper>Theme panel>Ads >Article top ad ( https://www.screencast.com/t/qSwFJWeKSi ).
Also check if your WP_DEBUG is set on false ( documentation ).
Let me know how it work.
Hi,
Please make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also please add this code in your .htaccess file.
<IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule>
Thank you.
Hi,
You could make tests with plugins you find and have the requirements you need, best to try free plugins or demo versions to for testing. I can’t make any recommendations because we haven’t made any tests with such plugins. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The theme uses the default WordPress login/register, just ads some style to it with the modal.
Maybe some theme users could share their recommendations with membership plugins they tested or use succesfully.
Thanks
Hi,
This happen only on homepage? or in all pages.
Please check the Requirements for Newspaper ( https://www.screencast.com/t/ZvHNhdQI ).
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi spu,
Please check the Requirements for Newspaper ( https://www.screencast.com/t/ZvHNhdQI ).
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
Seems to work now from what I can see, I zoomed in and out for quite a while
– https://www.screencast.com/t/DdIAmB1DZ
If there are problems sometimes, unfortunately there would be no solution I can provide. Such is the case with premium themes, some plugins work with them others do not and there will be conflicts. We can’t test all of them or adjust the theme to work with all of them.
If possible try with more plugins which have the requirements you need and make tests. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks
1. Search in Google: “http error 500” (this issue does not apply to the theme)
1. Check Requirements for Newspaper: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
2. Install the theme via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hi,
Please check this steps:
1. Make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also pay attention on this part https://www.screencast.com/t/atq8NTapw1v
2. Use just one Composer for build( if you have TD Composer and V Composer, please deactivate one of them).
3. Deactivate the Composer, delete it from theme plugin, download it from themeforest and install it again.
Thank you for your understanding.
Glad you fixed it. I have inspected your website, from what I can see there are many images which do not load, they have a status of 400
– https://www.screencast.com/t/9MgimjUoWg
If you use an image delivery system you could check why this is happening.
Also be sure to check the theme requirements guide and increase the allocated resources if needed

Hello Vlad111,
Please notice that we do not have any bad reports until now, regarding this process of post-publication. I have made some tests on my website and works as expected. Ensure that your theme has been correctly installed via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, ensure that you have respected all the theme’s requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello dipulhasan,
You should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Also, ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check if you respect all the theme’s requirements according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Gilson,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.
Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
Also, check all of your Ad Spots and if you have entered any suspicious code through them, remove all of them and check the results without them.
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
Basically, these are the theme requirements

Another useful guide for increasing the page speed can be found here -> https://kinsta.com/blog/google-pagespeed-insights/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Can’t say what would be better here, with a multisite environment we have not made any testing unfortunately. Basically the theme requirements for most users would be these
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Make more tests to see what the issues are and focus on them. Check some online tips
– https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/speed-up-my-slow-multisite-network
– https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2017/06/better-faster-optimized-wordpress-websites/
Maybe some users which have multisites can share their experiences in the matter.
Thanks
