Hi,

That seems to be the wp admin bar. It should not be showing up if the user is not logged in. That is a strange issue. It could also be a caching issue. Please use wp super cache and these settings:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and for a cdn server: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hi there,

Strangely I have this H1 META on all pages : <h1 style=”display: none;”>Guide de l’emprunteur malin</h1>. It makes a double with the H1 META that I add myself for each pages.

For exemple, please see here : view-source:http://www.emprunter-malin.com/acheter-ou-louer/.

You will see 2 meta : <h1 style=”display: none;”>Guide de l’emprunteur malin</h1> and <h1 class=”entry-title td-page-title”><span>Vaut-il mieux acheter ou louer ?</span></h1>.

Now that might be responsable for my loss of trafic, so how do I remove the <h1 style=”display: none;”>Guide de l’emprunteur malin</h1> ?

Thanks in advanced.

For some strange reason I can’t figure out, it will not work. I have the shop page (editor shows no content). It shows 4 products (and sidebar). So I made a new page called store and copied the code from your demo in it. Nothing shows up except those 4 products. It’s like it’s not paying attention to what’s the the content area of the page editor at all. Completely ignoring it. The shop page is here (empty content): http://dumpdonaldtrump.net/shop/ The store page I made using what I copied from your demo page is here: http://dumpdonaldtrump.net/store/

It’s not displaying what’s in the content area of the editor.

Hi,

Well Chris provides proper answers and in most cases we do not need to interfere 🙂 (Thanks Chris) If the provided answer is the right one, we simply mark the topic as ‘resolved’ as there is no sense in only confirming a provided solution.
If we consider that we need to add anything we will.
For the featured video thumb you will probably have to use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hello,

Unfortunately the theme will not stretch images. Your image will have to be bigger than the grid size in order for your images to display properly inside the grid. The theme only crops images, it does not enlarge them. If your images are larger than the grids but still so not show up properly, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thank you!

Well, yeah, I thought it was strange, too. Apparently is more common than we think, in live news sites, especially for hot topics that can last a few hours – eg. reporting and commenting on election results as they come. 😉

To make it more clear, these are the strange redirecting files:

Kindly help me to know , what are these?

Thank you.

Hello,

I see there are no thumbs active on your site. They are the full images shown and some get the 1 pixel width. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
And use the force regenerate plugin to regenerate your thumbs.
Also make sure thumbnails are active in the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/2CBpcsFU

Thank you!

— An update – I found some postview leakage.

During a parallel investigation of why the views are generally lower while they used to be really high before the redesign, and google analytics even showing more that the ajax view counter, I realized one unpredicted case that causes views to disappear.

So my client has a method of writing an article: He begins it, publishing it for the people to see that something is happening, then keeps updating it with all details as they happen. The strange thing, was that he got a comment that the post views one moment were 80, the other moment were a mere 30 on a certain article.

It got me thinking. And I found the culprit: That custom field in Editing mode, doesn’t get Ajax updates as they happen. So when the client updates the article, he unknowingly updates it to the number of views it had when he first clicked to edit it.

I’m reporting it just in case you are interested in doing something about it, And maybe it solves another fellow’s wondering as to why their pageviews get lost.

Hi Guys,

I’d like to use the below CSS code to replace my header image with one that runs across the whole page:

.td-logo-wrap-full {
background-image: url(“http://www.irreverentgent.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Make-Yourself-Esteemed2.jpg&#8221;);
background-repeat: repeat-x;
}

When I tried this, I removed my current logo, but got a strange error. Is there something I’m not doing?

Thanks!

Hi Catalin,

Thanks for the quick reply! What I mean is the strange code here: Picture
For me it seams, that the theme renders the VC or slider code to a stange line of symbols. Any suggestion for that?

Thanks. We seem to have version 3.2 and the link is to documentation for v7. We don’t seem to have that global post option in v3.2.

On individual posts we have the primary category as a place, featured is not the primary category but the navigation is still defaulting to use /featured/ in the url rather than the primary category. Strangely /featured/ is used for posts where the primary category both precedes and follows the word ‘featured’ alphabetically.

Any other ideas?

Hello hadharm,

It seems to be a caching problem. If your caching plugin is too strange it may occur this. Try to clear all your caches, purge CDN files and check the results. First of all, please ensure that you have added your code to the correct section and also, make sure if the style has been successfully added to your panel.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hello.

I got a strange request from my client. He asked me to tamper with the post views in order to “keep the counted pageviews in the database, but augment the numbers the visitors see”.

Apparently his major competitors either tamper with their pageview numbers, or are heard of having created bots crawling their pages every few minutes – so that local shop owners see high numbers in pageviews and pay for advertising in their websites. And as long as everyone does it, ‘we gotta keep up with the competition’, he says. Although I personally wouldn’t go down this road, he is the boss..

So, how could I possibly perform this task?

Manually updating post views by hand won’t work – the website has a lot of traffic already and 20-30 new articles each day. I even need to have caching mechanisms to keep the site up, so I’m using the AJAX counter. I need to do this algorithmically.

I tried manipulating some files eg. the ../includes/wp-booster/td_module_single_base.php, to display a mathematically reapproached number of pageviews.

Specifically, I changed the line:
$buffy .= '<span class="td-nr-views-' . $this->post->ID . '">' . td_page_views::get_page_views($this->post->ID) .'</span>';
into the line:
$buffy .= '<span class="td-nr-views-' . $this->post->ID . '">' . floor((td_page_views::get_page_views($this->post->ID))*1.5) .'</span>';

But little did I know that this approach wouldn’t really work. Ajax counter restored the original hits plus one on each impression.

So I updated the td_ajax.php file, on that same folder. In the last function that gets the views count, I changed:

$buffy[$post_id] = td_page_views::get_page_views($post_id);
into
$buffy[$post_id] = floor(td_page_views::get_page_views($post_id)*1.5);

Do I need to spell d i s a s t e r ? 😛 With each impression of the page, the total views were multiplied by 1.5! Thankfully the experiment was contained.

So now I am out of options and I’d love to know if you have any ideas on the matter. I know that providing the final solution to this headache is probably out of scope in this forum (unless ofc there is an easy and obvious one that I can’t see), but mere suggestions that I could pursue on my own, would really really help.

Thanks for reading my long question!

Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also disable any image optimization tools you might have in place. It seems your thumbnail for those posts gets converted to a 1 x 0 pixels image. That is why you cannot see it.
After you disable all plugins and check any custom code please make sure thumbs are active on your site: http://screencast.com/t/jIv2BXrCM5hW and then use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/strange/

Thank you!

Hello,

There is a strange issue in the current version of the theme regarding the translation and we have not yet been able to identify what exactly affects the translations. We got quite a few reports of this issue but each time we logged in to our users that reported this, we were able to change the translation without errors on our first try. But not being able to see the error we are not able to provide an answer to what exactly causes this issue. Maybe it;s a browser setting…we cannot say for sure. Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.

Thank you!

Hi,

If you say your theme is brand new ad you did not add that text there, it is very strange indeed. Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate this issue.
Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you. We can assure you that does not come from the theme. Wer do not even know what NT&RC is.

Thanks

Dear TagDiv Developers

I made our website by using Newpaper 7 Theme (Version 7.5)

A strange thing happened to us.

As often as it connects by using smartphone, front Page is changing randomly.
(PC version didn’t find this problem)

it sometimes loads resposive page, it sometimes mobile page.

Two pages turn alternatively every loading.

Our site :

http://60.205.212.125/mzfamily/

Would you like to check it about this weird index page?

http://www.2xlife.com/mzfamily/images/pageA.png -> I want to make it just like this.

http://www.2xlife.com/mzfamily/images/pageB.png -> I don’t want this style

Please help to let me find error source code.

I always want to be Page A in mobile browser.

As source code it too complex, I can’t find the reason.

If you want to connect this FTP, I am willing to give you.

Best regard.

Hello,

Please do not use photon as it is known to cause issues. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hello Roman22,

Please notice that our theme uses thumbs and all the images will be cut from center to top, according to what type of thumbs are used by your modules/blocks. You should use big size for images because the theme only cut them and not enlarge them and if you are using an image which has a small size than the thumb you will see these problems. For more information in this regard, please consult our useful tutorial here and follow the steps from there, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

A couple of questions:

1. I have version 7.3 of the theme. I spent about a week customizing it and as I’m very untechnical, I had many difficulties. I’m finally happy with how my website looks now, but if I update to the latest version will I lose all my customizations? Doing it all again is a scary thought for me…!

2. For images, when I use ‘right align’ it doesnt work when viewing on mobile.

On desktop it shows the photo right aligned, but on mobile the photos appear above the text and in large size which looks strange. Do you know why this might be happening?

Using mobile with landscape view also shows the photo right-aligned. Vertical view does not — even for very small images. As most people use their phone in vertical view I’d really like to find a fix for this.

Thanks!

Hi, Id like to update to the latest newsmag version and for that I am trying to delete the actual one. But it says it cant delete because theme “doesnt exist”. I tried it through wordpress. I also tried it without deleting it, but than it couldnt be uploaded because “theme already exist”. Very strange.
Any idea?

Ive used the steps as youve described it:

Step 1 – Deactivate the current “Newsmag” theme from the Appearance > Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, delete the Newsmag theme. Don’t worry, your content will not be lost.

Hi,
If you still cannot get the translations to work, please send us an email with your wp-admin so we can login and check it out. The strange thing is we had quite a few of these requests but when we accessed each and every one of these sites, the translations loaded on our first try. No errors were found on either cases.
Thanks.

Hello fbcv,

I am glad that you could manage your problem. Also, you can try to regenerate all your thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails with Force Regenerate. For more information about this, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
