Writing out of curiosity regarding the frequency of updates coming through different plugins that come bundled with the Newspaper Theme.
It appears that we see quite a regular set of updates coming from ThemePunch and the Revolution Slider. To make things a bit more clear here, the last update to the files for the theme was made on the 18th of October which included the Revolution slider version 5.0.3.2 to which it’s been just over a week and ThemePunch has updated this plugin to version 5.4.6.2.
I was hoping to find out more information as to what frequency we should expect to see from the TagDiv side and urgency to provide theme users with the most recent and up to date version of this plugin? This would help to determine whether or not it would just be easier to purchase the actual plugin from ThemePunch in the event that the updates aren’t a priority on the theme level.

I’m about done with this theme. Seems every time there is an update there are many issues. Was working fine and after the update, I cannot log in from the sign in/logout on the top bar, Weather gadget is stuck on 47.4 degrees and it is 69 outside. And that is just what I have seen so far.
My client has several products – and each of them have a few images. We want the images that appear in the Product Gallery to appear in the Product Image container when the user either clicks or hovers on the gallery items.
I think WooCommerce enabled this feature with their 2.7 update in late 2016? It’s not working with the Newspaper theme though. Or, I’m missing something obvious.

I deleted menu container in header, but it worked ok with version 7.0. After i updated to 7.8 i got this problem.
Now i set menu back and hid it with css, but without your code it still didn’t work well.

I am facing the same issue. The UPDATE THEME option does not do anything. I am not keen to use FTP.
I tried to use the 3rd method (delete the theme and reactivate it) but it made the website look miserably.

Thanks for answering those questions earlier. I’d like to ask for Footer or anywhere on the website, is there an option for me to choose which social media I’d like to use or put up with. I don’t want a package of everything as I won’t be using all those. If I want to narrow them down to Facebook/Instagram/WeChat(Chinese)/Weibo(Chinese)/Youtube , is there a place where I can choose this?
Another question is, if I want to embed a video from Youtube, and I know where to copy the code, with Newspaper Theme, can I switch to Text in the article and just copy and paste that embedded code, and then it’d embed a youtube video in that article? It works for other wordpress site before, but when I tried them this morning, it works before I updated it ( run the preview and its working), however, it kinda messed up the whole thing after I hit updated.
I wonder if the only safe way to embed or to show a video (not a link), but a screen that can hit and play video in the article would be choosing the function and key your team created? Please help me out here.

Hi,
This is not the only suggestion that needs implementation. There are many other recommendations and suggestion, and each one is taken into consideration. The developer team is analyzing all of them, it is hard to decide which one gets introduced first. I believe there are other priorities at the moment. We will just have to wait and see what the theme updates will bring.

The post sharing in socials is handled by the Yoast SEO plugin (this is the recommended plugin), the theme has no control over this

Something like that could be available in a future theme update, but for the moment the functionality is that some modules display an excerpt, others do not. The modules can be customized through a child theme. So you could make the customization in a child theme, that way you will not lose theme in case of theme update

I could not say if there are any plans in this matter. The team is working continuously to provide the latest features in the theme, there are many possible implementations considered. This could be one of them in a future update. We will just have to wait and see.

Chris, Amit just told me ACF is a premium function in AMP for WP. So this is not an option either. This is excactly why TagDiv need to bring an update soon. For all news publishers using newspaper this is very important.

AMP is coming up rapidly and is growing super fast. Google is pushing AMP pages heavely, especialy in Google News.
Especialy when you run a newswebsite, AMP becomes more and more important.
I use AMP for WP now, which works fine, but it wont show the source field bij default. This is s premium function. I dont like paying 50 dollars a year for just a source field.
Since this is a newspaper theme, can we expect full AMP support in the next coming updates? I really hope this is high on the agenda, for all the news writers out here.

Please tell me if I must disable Yoast SEO plugin before update Newspaper theme from 8.1 to 8.1.1? I was try install 8.1.1 update on the development domain (the same version WordPress and the same version Newspaper theme 8.1 as the official domain, but Yoast SEO has been deactivated) and everything passed without any issue. But install 8.1.1 update to the official domain (with activated Yoast SEO) has been broken at the moment change of theme before update (Internal Server Error 500) and I lost every access to the site both in user and administrator mode (Internal Server Error 500). Fortunately somehow I did restore access to the site by compare the databases (from the development and the official domains) and manually overwriting the changed data. Is this problem Yoast SEO related or web hosting services provider related at that moment?

I keep getting warnings about the speed being an issue in Pingdom and elsewhere. Basically, as you know, the JS is blocking the CSS, supposedly. I am using the Newspaper 8 version and the Speed plugin no longer appears in the zip file. My speed is presently 3-4 seconds, and I’d like to get it back down with the resources I am paying for.
Is there an updated article on improving speed? Is there a contractor or company TagDiv recommends for work?
Looks like it is like the google maps change and they are forcing site specific API keys to be installed. Is there a specific place we we can change this until an update is rereleased?
How can I update a a Newspaper to the newest version since I don’t have a Themeforest account? My client has bought a theme last year and he does not have access to themeforest anymore. I have a purchase code.
