Unfortunately there is no update proof method of adding custom code. If you altered the theme files, you will need to back-up your modification and re-apply it after the update. In order to update, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also make sure you update visual composer and social counter by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

I assume that you’re referring at this categories tags: http://screencast.com/t/YiflVNCtcapK If so they can be moved to the bottom of the post by editing the file corresponding with post template used. Here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/1y2CEx95i2vZ You can use the child theme to edit post templates, but you will have to check your changes after each theme update to make sure that they don’t break the layout.
2. I am not sure what you mean so please provide more detail about what you’re trying to do, also a screen pointing the desired result would help.

Our theme does come with demo content. If you updated to newspaper 7, you will have lots of demos to chose from. A demo is a theme ‘skin’ or style. really love the newspaper 7 update. mobile theme is crazy love it. only one thing wrong that i can think off, i can’t add social counter. i don’t want to switch to responsive theme, but i would like to know if it’s possible to put or if there’s any custom shortcode i can add directly in one of the files that will display social counter in mobile theme.

The media (photos and videos) that are posted with our articles, both as the article’s featured media as well as the media within the article itself, are no longer visible. The images are still present in the media library, but are not visible on the homepage of our site, nor within each post. In the space where the picture or video should be there is a blank space – a white box on the homepage, and a grey box on the post itself.
I have tried deactivating all of our plug-ins to see if one (or more) of the new updates simply wasn’t playing nice with the others, or the theme itself, but so far that hasn’t worked. I’ve gone through and looked for any setting errors that might have switched off the visual/ media aspect of the site, but found nothing obvious.
Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi, after update with newest version, i cannot show featured video in single post
I am looking to update our Newspaper 6 to 7 and it is asking me to remove 6 and to upload 7. Last time i did that (from 4 to 6) I had to remove 4 and then upload 6 before spending a good few hours customising the site so it resembles the previous site. Is there a way to get round this? I want to update it to Newspaper 7 but I am trying to find a way of not having to redo the sites customisation. Is there a way to update without removing the current design of the site? I hope someone can help and give me some good news that will make the whole process easier.

I recently installed new theme 7.1.1 from 6.7.1 from Envanto tool kit in wordpress and manually also. After updating i saw site is working fine except one issue that is with the social counter..my blog name is http://www.allnewtechs.com . and it is looking as it corrupted or might be any issue with it..showing it..in previous version of theme 6.7.1 it was colorful nowits white and not even working. when i again changed back to my previous theme it was working fine..but when i update this to new theme then it dont workds. i think there may be the issue with the theme or wiht social counter..please visit my site and see whats the problem with my social counter and how to resolve this..

If somebody has a problem with theme plugins (social counter, visual composer) after update. Just remove and re-install the plugins. Been there, done that.

Custom sidebars have stopped working, after adding the widgets and getting out and going back in the custom sidebars loses the data.

Previously before updating to newspaper, i was using the technews demo, after the update there were new demos added. I uninstalled technews demo and imported recipe demo, after saving the recipe demo, my homepage visual composer still had the previous settings regarding the categories.
But recipe demo wasn’t showing, the homepage block contents properly, so i uninstalled the recipe demo and switched back to previous demo, still homepage blocks aren’t showing visual composer contents. But the backend editor shows different blocks.
How do I fix this?
Sorry for the countless emails on the thread. So on my dev site, I uploaded the new theme and did the test again and noticed all of the errors but one were fixed. Is there an easy way to update the Theme without deleting all of my customization?

I appreciate the response. I just checked and noticed I have an older version of the theme on my website. Is it possible to update the theme, but not lose all of my aesthetics? I read an older post and it looks like the new theme works more specifically for the new Schema rules.

Unfortunately custom post type support is still limited with our theme. We do try to improve it on every major update. At the moment the theme has no options like the one you mentioned. I will add this to our list for future updates and hopefully we will be able to implement such a feature.

Sorry but plugins cannot be over-written from the child theme. You will have to modify the main files. luckily, the plugins do not get updated on every theme update so you will probably not need to re-add this modification very often.

Please use the ftp method as it;s the easiest and safest way. you can simply delete the theme folder and replace it with the new one. copy and paste…that’s it as no settings will get lost. Make sure you have version 4.11.2 of visual composer for it to work properly.

Hi,
This is not the case as visual composer needs the code we added to work properly with our theme. Our code does not have this effect though .it does not break the plugin. This was a common issue they should know about and was created by the new version of wordpress. Please update your theme to the latest version by using this guide:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then, please remove any version of VC you might have. Make sure you delete the files for it also from the plugins section and install the correct version which is bundled with our theme. Make sure you have version 4.11.2 of the plugin installed.
