If you want to update your theme to the latest version of the theme, you will have to do that only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. So, before doing that you will have to download the new update file from Theme Forest using your unic account. After this, you will have to do a full backup for your data because it is more safety and then you will have to remove all your old theme and install the new update through FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Regarding on your Translation, if you are using the https URL, please try to follow the next steps for your Translations. Try to load your desired translation from panel and then you can see in left corner of your browser, an icon with a shield and then try to Load unsafe scripts, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/aLm2aAFv5

This situation may occur because facebook does not index your pot automatically but you can “force” it by running a new scrape as I’ve indicated above.

After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme, also older version of VC won’t work with it. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.
Try to update the theme at current version available on themeforest, also update Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all other plugins, clear all caches and test again.

First of all, please try to switch your theme to default one and check if there you will have this problem on the search page. Also, please try to make a new install with the latest version of the theme and check there if this issue persists. It is very important to try this because it is possible that your install to be affected and that’s why to appear this issue on the search page. Please try to make this new install and update your theme from scratch without untested plugins, only with Visual Composer and see hot it works. After this, if your problem is still there after these changes, please let us know. Hi,
The best thing to do in this case is to simply download the l;atest version and install it via ftp. The code was changed in such a way from your version that updating with the patches has the same result as simply updating directly. Please also make sure you update the plugins that come with the theme (visual composer and social counter)

If the file gets modified, yes. If not, then you can keep a back-up of the file and simply replace it after the update. You must use the changelog and updated files list and if the file you modified is on that list, you must add the customization again to the new files as copying over the old file will not work.

I’ve just updated Newspaper to 7.1 and tagDiv Social Counter to 4.0, and social counter shows 0 fans.
Again: I had the same issue a couple of month ago, solved with Newspaper 6.6.5 and td social counter 3.2.
I’ve also deleted the old Facebook App and I’ve created a brand new one, no changes.
Can you please help me? Am I doing something wrong? Please notice that Now I’ve set display:none to td-social-info class.

On this site http://www.saporedivaltellina.it (newspaper 6.7.2 and tagDiv Social Counter 3.2) everything works, and I’m waiting before applying the updates.

I updated wordpress and theme to the newest versions. Did so according to your instruction.
There is an issue on post pages, like this: http://www.interaktywna.pl/spoleczenstwo/kariera/telefon-od-szefa-nie-na-urlopie/ – images are not appearing. We do not have this problem on main page or category pages.

I am no longer active in this forum, but another person appears to have tweaked/updated the remove VC code for functions.php, which is outlined here:

and you can always ask TagDiv for the best way to do that with latest versions of themes, which continue to evolve.

I think my code was from over a year ago, and was actually used initially when I had visual composer on, but only for home page; then that got replaced by using the “shim” BETA, and then I moved to NewsMag for most sites … sadly I’m no longer really participating here, but I pop in from time to time after a theme update to see whassssup 🙂

3 I’ve checked your site with google page-speed toll and noticed that you have some render-blocking resources which can be moved in footer by using Speed Booster plugin. 4. Please make sure that you’re using last plugin’s version included in theme’s path, V 4.0 clear the cache memory then test again. We will also update the plugin on our demo in shortest time.

Please ensure that you have fully updated your theme only via FTP because this is the surest method, in this case, you have cleared all your caches and test it again and see how it works. The custom code in the theme panel will not be lost as it is kept in the database.
The child theme however is an entirely different matter. It may sound complicated now but it’s actually not. The child theme simply feeds a version of the file you can modify. If you update the theme and the files in thee main theme get replaced (and you did not replace anything in the child theme) then you would be feeding the same old files you modified with the old code onto the new theme which requires the new files with the new code. It will not work. You have to look at the changelog and get the list of modified files from there and if the files in your child theme you modified are on that list, after you update, you must replace them as well in the child theme. Otherwise your site will break as you will feed the old code through the child theme. You must re-add the modification on to the new files.

You can use V 6.x of the theme as it will work fine with V 4.5.2 of wordpress. Unfortunately we cannot offer support for rtl as adapting the theme, or a specific part of it, to that style involve a new approach for that feature. You can try to use an older version if that worked fine before but we can’t guarantee that this would be the best solution. It may be a chance that older version of the theme to not be compatible with next version of WordPress and if that will happen you will have to update.
If you want to use rtl style with the theme but you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard my advice is to look for someone who can help you with implementation or hire a freelancer to do it for you as we can’t offer custom work at the moment.
