We included the latest version of Visual Composer in our latest theme update so i guess you already have it.
Please check the error log to see if there are any hidden errors reported in there.

What do you mean by: “running the script will import your setting from database also it will change the shortcodes” – is there something I should do after doing the update in order to run a script to import my old settings? Can you send me the exact instructions for that?
Also – I indeed had some custom css – so I just need to copy these from the old theme and paste it into the custom css on the new theme?
Any more tips on to how to update in the smoothest possible way would be highly appreciated!

So do I understand correctly that there is no way of updating to the new Newspaper 6 without messing up the whole website?
If it’s a totally new theme – meaning I will need to rebuild the homepage completely?
Because I tried to update according to the instructions and it messed up my website.

The theme doesn’t have such an option for menu, you will need custom work to achieve this, unfortunately we cannot provide any type of custom work at this moment as we work hard on development, updates and support.

Just change the number for above css code with your specific number and add the css code for each item.

Unfortunately we do not keep track the site where the theme is activated, we track only the number of the theme’s activations. To update you have to log in on themeforest and download the version 6 package and update using this guide(make a full backup) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ You use envato purchase code to activate your theme if you need this – http://screencast.com/t/kSso5Shm2Vou If you have buyed 2 licenses it should work without any issues.

OK – I re-uploaded all the files and now it’s fine…
But the new update to Newspaper 6 definitely doesn’t guys, after the update I would have needed to build the site from scratch again…I think you should mention that in the instructions…

I tried to update to Newspaper 6, but it mushed up my site completely.
Luckily I backed up before and downloaded the old Theme folder installation through FTP, so I deleted the new Newspaper 6 theme folder files and uploaded again the old theme folder installation.
Now the website won’t load, I get this message:

This is the same problem Iâve been having since I upgraded and updated. The icons for editing individual blocks are not there. I can only move or delete whole blocks but not edit. Please help. I havenât been able to use any of the really nice looking homepage templates.

I just updated to v6 and all the links no longer come up as the blue color we were using, instead they come up as black just like the rest of the text. It shows up as blue in the post editor, but not in the actual post. Example here: http://talking10.com/2015/06/20/chryst-badgers-remind-big-ten-they-can-recruit-just-as-well-as-anyone/ (with text being Cole Van Lanen after 2nd embedded tweet).

how will the support for the old version work? Will there be reminders about updates? I let my programmer set up my site two month ago with child theme and many other features. I can’t change now to version 6, as it would destroy the whole site!

Because of the new Newspaper theme I would like to update both website, but I don’t know which license belongs to which website.

– Which license belongs to which website?

There is no special upgrade policy, you need log in and download from themeforest the new theme version and follow this guide to update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Before update please make a full backup of your current installation. We recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one. Let us know how it goes!

Yes, the effect is very beautiful. But I see a difference between versions. In the previous version it slid gently giving a 3D effect. Now in the new version, the image slides with small leaps and lost the charm. I had already visited the demo page and is equal to my installation, sliding jumping jacks. It may seem a silly whim on my part, but I think the Newspeper was so beautiful in its update that could not miss one of its most beautiful visual effects. Look at this I would be extremely grateful for this repair. Thank you!

@ckearney In future we will come with an update winch contains an advanced system data.
I updated my theme to Newspaper 6 and now the sidebars are not showing on some of my pages. There is no rhyme or reason, the settings are all the same, the sidebar is still the same but it’s just not showing on specific pages.
