Hi,
I created some pages using the “Homepage-Blank” template. Like a lot of others I am missing the pagination at the bottom of the page. (please include this in a next update)
Your solution to this is to use a “Homepage – with article list” template instead. Unfortunately, when I do this, the complete layout of my pages is then screwed up and I don’t have complete control over how they look. So I don’t want this.
Is there ANY way that can put the simple pagination on custom created pages using the “Homepage-Blank” template?
P.s. I am using Block 6 on my pages. So is it possible to have pagination at the end of this block?
That is exactly what I though.
It would be nice to have the More Article Box activated based on:
– if user is logged in or not
– if is_post or any other post_type
– activated by category or tag
Question: if someone sponsors the development of this piece, would you add it to your next update? My main concern is start to customize the parent theme and lose the work in the future.
Thanks,
-

Hi,
Please make this changes to the td_module_1.php file: http://screencast.com/t/Yky9PulQfNHR
Also, what theme version do you use, we have solved this issue in latest theme version, try updating to the latest theme version (3.9.2) this should fix it https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Thanks
Could you fix this in a further update or as an option between userID and channelID?
Lucian.
I think you folks should start adding a FAQs section for these questions which pop up every week or two. That would make it easier to manage support, but also for those of us who pop in to see any breaking issue, fixes, problems, etc., to not have to scan through the same 10 questions which come up over and over (and over). Nothing against anybody for asking questions or seeking help, but after about the 40th time this has been answered having a top 10 frequently asked questions page/post might be helpful to all.
1. update to visual composer message
2. how to add author name to posts
3. etc.
(I don’t actually have a list in mind at the moment …. since I was away a bit during May/June due to illness …. but you get the idea).
🙂

Hi,
The theme includes a license for this plugin so you don’t have to buy it. You don’t have to worry about the plugin update warnings it will be updated in the next theme update.
Thanks
Good morning. I’m writing you to ask about Visual Composer Plugin. WordPress admin panel shows a notice telling that there is an update available, but it is necessary to know the Visual Composer License Key in order to get it. So my question is, the plugin is supposed to going to be updated in the next Newspaper update or are we supposed to buy the plugin to get access to new updates?.
Thanks in advance.
Hm. I ran into nothing but trouble with the ENvatio toolkit – and MANY theme devs have been recommending NOT using that to update theme, due to various problems.
But again, you generally want to use the theme panel provided with the theme, where there is section called “FOOTER” where you can edit the copyright. 🙂
TRY IT !! 🙂
Thank you. I have found my problem. I was never using the Toolkit provided by Envato. I was stuck on version 1.1. Once I used the toolkit, it allowed me to update the theme. However, I can use the customize panel, but cannot edit my logo or footer anymore. I’m guessing Either it is placed in a different area or everything did not update properly. I am now trying to edit my logo and footer on my website and can no longer find where I can update from “all rights reserved 2013” to “all rights reserved 2014.”
Hi,
I’ve tested the latest version with an Author user and works fine for me to create posts, no issue. From which version you have updated the theme? Please make sure you update the theme and also the VC plugin correctly like here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Can you try to disable other plugin and see if works, but leave the VC active.
If nothing works can you provide us access to your WP and also FTP access to track the issue?
Send the details via email at contact@tagdiv.com
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Thanks for letting us know, we already know about this issue and we will try to fix it in future updates.
If you eventually decide to use it like that you can do it by adding this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.single .span4.column_container {
display: none !important;
}
}
This will set the sidebar not to be displayed on mobile via CSS.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the message
I have several authors on my blog, and since the last update none of them can go to add a new post in the WordPress Dashboard. It simply comes up to a blank screen. If I disable the plugin, they can post just fine, but then my pages won’t work. Under User groups access rules – all the the selections are checkmarked. If I try to uncheck them and then go to add a new post, I get a weird messages that says “cheatin huh?” Please help, I have a team of 10 writers and I am the only one who can log in and post blogs. If you need more information, just let me know.
Thanks,

Hi @Manuel the best plugin right now is “Speed Booster” the owner done some awesome updates today and made the plugin more powerfull so i’m only using that one along side the “Leverage Browser Caching plugin”.
@thomaspe i recommend you to use the “Speed Booster” plugin as well which work very well with the theme.
Speed Booster
Main Plugin Features
Eliminates external render-blocking javascript and css in above-the-fold content.
Moves scripts to the footer to improve page loading speed.
Loads CSS asynchronously to render your page more quickly and get a higher score on the major speed testing services.
Minify and inline all CSS styles and move them to the footer to eliminate external render-blocking CSS and optimize CSS delivery.
Lazy loads images to improve page load times and save bandwidth.
Changes image compression level to keep file sizes smaller.
Loads javascript files from Google Libraries rather than serving them from your WordPress install directly, to reduce latency, increase parallelism and improve caching.
Defers parsing of javascript files to reduce the initial load time of your page.
Removes query strings from static resources to improve your speed scores.
Removes extra Font Awesome stylesheets added to your theme by certain plugins, if Font Awesome is already used in your theme.
Removes junk header tags to clean up your WordPress Header.
Displays page loading time in the plugin options page.
Displays the number of executed queries in the plugin options page.
Displays the Peak Memory Used in the plugin options page.
Thanks for the update but that’s still not working 🙁
any other ideas?
Please, help me with update Newspaper from 3.8.1 to 3.9.2. Step by step 🙂
thx
Hi,
Please can you make the update again and make sure you replace all files via FTP. Follow this guides:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Also try this, add define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M'); in wp-config.php file
If nothing works can you give us access to your WP?, send us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and also if you can give us FTP access so we can take a look, specify the issue or send an URL to this topic.
Thanks
Hi,
We have this issue on our todo list and we will fix it in the next theme update.
Thanks for understanding
Hi,
Please add this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
.td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
margin-right: 12px !important;
}
.td_ul_logout li {
display: inline;
}
.td_ul_logout li a:before {
top: 6px;
}
We will fix this in the next theme update.
Thanks
@manual
best bet for my stuff, is go “backwards” from here as the stuff for htaccess file still good, for Apache/Linux. I’m only running nginx for some stuff on our server, we use Apache for compatibility with 20 years of content and some stuff not practical to reinvent at this time.
mod_pagespeed … I am running kind of a moderate number of things with defaults on server wide, then htaccess for local per site/folder controls/over-rides or “off.” With nginx I think you have to use a config file.
Anyway…. here’s my htaccess minus the 301 stuff:

ModPagespeedEnableFilters move_css_to_head
ModPagespeedEnableFilters combine_css
ModPagespeedEnableFilters remove_comments
ModPagespeedEnableFilters rewrite_images
ModPagespeedEnableFilters insert_dns_prefetch

We’re currently not running things off our Amazon CDN for the WP sites, in favor of using the horsepower of the dedicated server with high-speed switch, APC, mod_pagespeed, etc. Not finding it super beneficial to load those 1kb sprites off the CDN, frankly. (Brand new web server Dec. 2013). And for us tweaking is simpler when it’s all using one system, and letting mod_pagespeed fix some stuff.
I was manually minifying the style.css file and couple other things. Have not done that with latest version (just updated last weekend). Simple to do … some of my posts on here reference the websites like css minifier where you can copy/paste your code, make new file and over-write the theme css file to solve that issue (takes 5 minutes).
I had too many issues with the caching plugins so not using right now.
Take Google’s PageSpeed Insights with major grain of salt.
On one of my project sites (not running WP), we have the CSS loading from external file, minified, got pagespeed score of 87 and warning about only 47% of page loading above the fold (menu wasn’t showing up), and this could be seen missing from screen capture. So, we put all the code inline, speed went to 95 desktop, 85 mobile, but warning about above the fold now says only 1% was able to be loaded, but snapshot of screen shows everything above fold loaded properly.
Similarly on our WP install running Newspaper, here’s one of their wonderful “suggestions” ….
Reduce server response time
In our test, your server responded in 0.36 seconds. There are many factors that can slow down your server response time. Please read our recommendations to learn how you can monitor and measure where your server is spending the most time.
So, apparently 0.36 seconds is considered slow?
🙂
Actually, no need. I just solved the problem 🙂
Here’s what happened:
I had just updated to the latest version of WordPress SEO (version 1.5.3.3) and in Settings > Titles & Metas > Other the box for “Disable Author Archives” was checked.
I am not sure if this option is in the previous versions or if it is new in this version, because I don’t remember seeing it before. So if anyone updates to a new version of WordPress SEO, they should probably be aware of this.
Hi,
We will investigate this issue and we will fix it in the next update.
Thanks for the message
Thanks, Have now updated to the latest version, but the issue remains unsolved.
Any thoughts please?
Si
Hi,
@Christopher Simmons Thanks for your post.
@lee freeman
You need to update the theme to the latest version (3.9.2 replace all files via FTP)
Then make sure you follow this steps to update the Visual Composer plugin:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/#vanish
If this dose not solve the issue please let me know.
Thanks
