Dear tagDiv Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue on my WordPress site, which appears to be caused by the tagDiv Composer plugin. To resolve this problem, I need to update all tagDiv plugins and the Newspaper theme to their latest versions.

However, I am unable to locate the compressed files required (plugins and theme) in my account or anywhere else.

Could you please guide me on where to download the necessary files, or provide them directly?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello!

We recommend using cloud/PRO templates to have the possibility to edit them with the TagDiv Composer, which contains a lot of functions and features; please check our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
More documentation about the cloud templates is here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-templates/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-category-templates/
About pages here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
Check out this video about how to create a website from scratch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoGQ0d5kIBg

I do not recommend changing the code in the theme because every time you update the theme, the changes will disappear. Please let me know what you need to achieve and your issue. You could probably solve the issue without the extra code.

Thank you!

Hi,

Displaying the featured image in a page is possible, but it will require a bit of customization.

You could modify the page template and add a code in it for the featured image. The page template file is here in the composer plugin https://prnt.sc/avQVYo0gd2EF
And the featured image can be added after the page title, after the closing h1 https://prnt.sc/GxAYpJwIz71g This is the code https://pastebin.com/MkzmBLQz

This way all the pages that use the default page template will display the featured image, if there is one set. The modification could be done in a child theme, in order to not lose it after a theme update.

If you want we can implement this solution on your website, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website, and access to cPanel so we can use the file manager https://mediatime.net/cpanel

Thank you!

Dear TagDiv Composer Support Team,

I would like to provide you with an updated summary of the issues I’m currently facing. I apologize for the multiple messages I’ve sent earlier and any confusion they may have caused. Unfortunately, I’m unable to delete those messages. Here’s the current status:

Mobile View Issues:

I have successfully recreated mobile templates for all categories and deactivated the Theme Mobile plugin.
The body of the website now displays correctly on mobile. However, the footer and header still have problems:
I can’t figure out how to adapt the footer for mobile view.
Regarding the header, I’m unsure if I need to recreate it specifically for mobile. If that’s the case, I’d appreciate guidance because I’ve tried and haven’t been successful.
Social Media Connections:

I’m struggling to link social media accounts, particularly Instagram. It redirects me to Facebook, and I can’t connect Instagram.
I’d like to link the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. Could you provide instructions on how to resolve this?
Calendar Issue:

I’ve created a calendar page using shortcodes with the Events Manager plugin. It displays perfectly on desktop but does not appear on mobile. I understand this may be outside your scope, but any advice would be appreciated.
Post Appearance:

I have 108 posts already created, and I’d like to redesign their appearance to make them more visually appealing. Is there a way to bulk-apply a new design to all of them?
Content Entry While Traveling:

On January 17 and 18, I’ll be covering events from the street using an Android tablet or iPhone. I need to create and publish two or three posts during that time. Could you recommend the best workflow for adding content using mobile devices?
I truly appreciate your help, as I’m aiming to launch the website on January 15 or 16, and these issues are critical to resolve before then.

Thank you so much for your time and support.

Best regards

I wanted to update you on the issues I was facing earlier and clarify the current situation.

Entry Display Issue: I have resolved the issue with the single entry being displayed. It turned out that I wasn’t seeing the next post because the “static page” setting was disabled in the Appearance/Customize section. Once I re-enabled the static page option, everything started displaying properly. However, I am still facing issues with mobile visibility.

Mobile Display Issue: I need the mobile version to display exactly as it appears when I use the “mobile view” option in TagDiv Composer on desktop. Essentially, I want the mobile version to reflect the same design I created on the desktop. Currently, this is not happening.

Footer Display Issue: I am still facing issues with the footer. It does not appear correctly on the mobile version. In the desktop version, I have set up a three-column footer, but it doesn’t display as expected on mobile.

Instagram Connection: I’m also having trouble linking Instagram to my website. It redirects to Facebook, and I am unable to connect Instagram. I need to link Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. YouTube and TikTok connections can wait for now since they are not updated, but I would like to fix the main social media platforms as soon as possible.

Could you please guide me on how to fix these mobile display issues and the social media connection problems? I would greatly appreciate your prompt response as my website is launching soon.

Thank you for your help, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi Bettina,
Thanks for the intervention at your end. Much appreciated.
Can I also request to know why the video used by me as the default video doesn’t play on mobiles devices. I have tried ticking the “Autoplay YouTube video on mobile” option also, but it didn’t work.
And, I am using Testimonials at the bottom of the page. Somehow, they are also not showing on the phone. I have checked the visibility in the mobile orientation and they are showing, but when I go to my handset they don’t show. All I can see is the header ‘Testimonials’.
Is there any way that I connect the Testimonials section on the website Home Page to my Facebook reviews so that I don’t have to update them every time? I tried using a widget but it doesn’t embed the Facebook link.
Please guide.
TIA
Ritu

I keep receiving this error, but only on my homepage:

Errors at columns: 2(models) : 9(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)

I’ve updated my theme and disabled all my plugins and it didn’t help. I haven’t put any custom code into the page.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, folks
with Newsmag, we were looking to try using Yoast breadcrumbs on couple of sites for edge updates to stupid Google schema nonsense and some pages/posts not being fully indexed due to ‘schema errors’ seemingly at random. One site, no issues, another, MANY posts not indexed with most recent updates. So, looking to test this (sigh).

What is best way to insert Yoast breadcrumb code in current version of Newsmag?

Thanks! 🙂

Hi.

I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to kindly follow up and check if there have been any updates. Is there any chance I might receive a response soon?

Hello Ritu!

Yes, the responsive version is like that. Another workaround could be to hide an element in the desktop so it will appear only in the mobile viewport and reverse. But you can build your mobile pages as explained here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
There are only 3 options that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. You can see your mobile version there and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Thank you!

Yes, I disabled the other plugins and nothing changes. Like I said above, I updated nothing / didn’t changed anything since Wednesday the 9th.

To add, I am using Firefox as my main browser. That is where I took the screenshot. It might be a bug?

Just checked my Google Chrome and it is working there today, but not my Firefox still.

Thank you for your response and the helpful suggestions. I appreciate the insights and the screencasts you provided.

However, I have a follow-up question regarding the implementation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t using the “[tagdiv] Text with Title” shortcode or building the title separately with the TD Composer require future updates to be made directly through the TD Composer?

The reason I’m asking is that the “NDG CURRENT EDITION” section is updated weekly with a new title and link. The person responsible for these updates does not have access to the TD Composer. To make this process simpler and avoid potential disruptions to the website layout, we created this section as a widget (see #2 in the attached imageAttached image). This allows updates to be made directly on the WordPress widget page (see #1 in the attached image).

On the other hand, the first title, “Click Here: Win Tickets by Subscribing to NDG Video Channel,” does not change and was therefore built as a static title with the TD Composer.

That said, we are trying to achieve consistency by matching the width of the “NDG CURRENT EDITION” title bar to the “Click Here” title above it. Is there a way to achieve this while keeping the current setup of the widget for the “NDG CURRENT EDITION” section? Perhaps I am not understanding your suggestion correctly as I am also not sure what you mean by shortcode in this instance?

Hello Ritu!

Of course not. You can modify the mobile version in the tagdiv Composer in the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. You can see your mobile version there and edit or adjust the elements to look better. Also, you can have a completely different mobile page if you want this and re-build a mobile page. All about mobile pages here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

Thank you!

Hello,

I see now that you use Newsmag, and this is a known issue that will be fixed in the next updates.

We are sorry for this inconvenience!

Hello,

This is strange. Something happened there; there’s no way it could have happened suddenly. Was there any update or change that caused this issue? Please try using only the TagDiv plugins and check afterward.

Thank you!

I am seeking assistance regarding an issue with the title bar of a widget on the homepage of the North Dallas Gazette website, which uses your WordPress theme.

The title bar for the “NDG CURRENT EDITION” section (pointed to in the attached screenshot) does not span the same width as the element above it. Homepage

This section is populated by a Custom HTML widget on the widget settings page, and the title, image and link are updated weekly by another user. Widget

I would like the title bar for this section to match the width of the element above it on the home page. My question is:

Is there a way to achieve this with the current Custom HTML widget, perhaps by adding some custom CSS or modifying the existing HTML?
Alternatively, should I use the “[tagdiv] Text with Title” widget instead? If so, is there specific CSS or code I can add to ensure the title bar width aligns with the above element?
Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to ensure a consistent design across the homepage.

Hi I logged into my site to edit it today and all the fields to enter things are gone.

I didn’t touch anything since yesterday but it seems to be doing this https://imgur.com/a/pnThdaz it’s happening to every element I try and edit.

To add to this, I never updated any plugins or anything. No automatic updates happened either since I don’t enable those anyways.

I also tried loading in a different browser and it is still happening there as well.

Hello,

You can download the latest package from here https://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Newspaper-12-6-8.zip
I recommend that you update the theme manually https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ via FTP/cPanel/File Manager, also if possible disable extra plugins during the theme update to avoid any problems that may arise and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the website’s look. You can try to update the theme on a staging website.
After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/

Thank you!

Hello,

To disable comments in WordPress for All Posts:
Go to Settings > Discussion in your WordPress admin panel.
Uncheck “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” and save changes, as you did.
For Individual Posts:
Edit the post.
In the Discussion panel, uncheck “Allow comments” (Enable the Discussion panel from Screen Options if not visible).
Update the post.
Also, please check the suggestion provided by @simchris.

Thank you!

There is white space at the top of the website that is not supposed to be there. Pretty sure this occurred after a Theme update. I went to Theme Panel and clicked “Save Settings” but that did not remove the white space.

Can you please provide a solution?
