Hi,

From what theme version did you update? There were some changes in the theme a while back, in update 9.7 – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/ and most of the theme files were moved in the composer.
But this should’t affect a search plugin, which searches in the database for results. Does that plugin work correctly with a different theme, maybe a default one?

There are other search plugins out there, you could also try a different one, test free ones if possible – https://colorlib.com/wp/search-plugins-for-wordpress/

Also please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
If you are using child theme, please set the child theme from the Newspaper v9.7.4 package, only this will work properly with the theme.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.

If this is not solving your problem, let me know the fonts you want to remove from the theme core and I will show you from where you can delete them; but if you’ll make a theme update this will be add back.

Please notice that we recommend to make the update on a test install, not on live install.

If you are using child theme in Newspaper v9.7.4 this is again working like before, but you’ll need to use the child from the theme package v9.7.4

Unfortunately, we do not recommend too much to update the theme via such that plugin because it seems to have some delays regarding on the version of the theme and also, it is possible that update to not be correctly made. Our strong recommendation is to update the theme via FTP way because this is the healthy way to update the theme.

First of all, please make sure that your theme update was correctly made via FTP way and all of the steps was strongly correctly checked in order to achieve better theme results. After this, if the problem persists, please check the following useful guide from here ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/ to see the major reasons for this error. Also, I recommend you to make a new install at a subdomain for testing where you can make some tests with the latest version of the theme and which also do not affect your live website. After you have followed all of these steps and if the problem persists, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup configuration page. Also, provide there the link of this topic so we can quickly identify you.

Unfortunately the Theme Panel of Newspaper theme can not be translated from the theme settings; if you want to translate it, you’ll have to edit the code to do so; unfortunately if you make an update all those changes will be lost.

Yes, please note that the Newspaper theme update brings a change for the theme implementation. Most of the theme files were moved into the tagDiv Composer plugin as per the requirements of Envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements. We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/ First of all, please make sure that you have updated the theme to the latest version of it which is Newspaper 9.7.4 because in that update, we were improved the Child Theme functionality and this should works as expected, if the child theme will be used and customized according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
