Hey guys,

Since updating to Newspaper 9.01, I am unable to edit existing content and can’t create new content for my page either. Can’t create new posts, products, pages etc… I CAN edit existing content if I disable TagDiv Composer. I have re-installed all plug-ins, cleared my cache etc… but NO luck.

Any ideas?

Update: this issue seems to be related to the WP rocket plugin

Inserting a link was enough to show a ContentCard, but since the theme update, what we got it’s the site header inside the post
This is an screenshot
Content Card

This is an example page

Any ideas?
Thank you

Addition: I really like your efforts in making suggestions. However, in future updates, please consider making image attribution a native function. This is a news theme, image attribution has to be concidered vital, right?

I spoke too soon, sorry about that. It works great when I change the settings on the Newspaper theme in Filezilla. However, my child theme doesnt pick it up at all. Any idea why?

I have to do this in the child theme right? Or else the changes will be set to default values when the next update rolls out. Thanks / Karl

This would be a great feature as I’m looking for the exact same solution as well, hopefully with one of the next updates 😉

I’m using a premium plugin by Cozmoslabs. They have an add-on to set privacy of each menu item. After the update Cozmoslabs’ addon is being overruled by the build-in mega menu causing the plugin not to be visible in the menu(admin section)

The addon gives you the possibility to make any menu item visible to any WordPress role. The mega menu makes the checkboxes disappear.

Cozmoslabs has the following message for the developers of Newspaper theme:

Then the issue is similar. You can contact your theme developers, explain the issue and also send them this link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/nav-menu-roles/
The fix they need to apply, is explained in the FAQ section of that plugin.

Cozmoslabs helped me last time fixing this same issue and I send him the theme. But they are not going to do this every time Newspaper is being updated. So this time I’m forwarding their message.

Waiting for your response,

Thank you in advance.

Can’t figure this out. Every hour or so all of the TagDiv plugins deactivate somehow and kill my site. I have to keep manually going back and reactivating them. This didn’t start until I updated your theme. The website is BuiltTacomas.Com I can send wp admin and ftp info if you guys need it. I can not for the life of me figure this out.

Hi,

That will be available in a future update, you will be able to select the rel attribute value for the socials, in the theme panel. I believe these three will be available
– nofollow
– noreferrer
– noopener

Thanks

@Business Eye please access the theme plugins area and press the install or the update button depending on the situation.

@bobbymc
Just paste the code at the very end of the htaccess file.

Those are the patch files, files that were modified from the previous version to the new one.
If you want to update by patch you can use those files. Note that each patch is required if you update from an older version, you cannot skip one update. They are not cumulative, meaning that the last one does not contain all the previous ones.

That issue with the Cloud library was in some cases caused by plugins, you could check that as a first step. We also continually try to improve the plugin, which is in beta phase at the moment. Be sure to check the theme requirements guide as well

Hi, just installed this theme and the plugins, there are no updates as it installed the latest versions, and the demos are not working. Will send email.

Hello,

You get this issue because 1: you use an older theme version and did not yet update to the latest version and 2: you keep both tagdiv composer and wpbakery active.
We recommend only using a single page builder and disabling the other and we also recommend updating to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Thank you!

Hi,

Please make sure the composer has been updated, it should be automatically but sometimes it fails. If it fails it will deactivate itself and an update button will appear here
https://www.screencast.com/t/MF5YoNirc

Disregard the revolution slider activation notifications provided by the bundled version, there is nothing we can do about them. The plugin can be used fully despite the notifications.

Thanks

Hello,

Sorry but our theme does not have any such option. It can be created custom if you want by using this topic:https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/post-last-updated/

Thanks.

Hi,

Sidebars can be set for pages, but in the tagDiv composer. Either split the row and add content directly in the resulting sidebar column
https://www.screencast.com/t/VTiKJwMDIkr
Or add a widget sidebar element and select from your available sidebars
https://www.screencast.com/t/waQ0J7GAsh

If the page is not built with the composer, a sidebar can be set in the back-end
https://www.screencast.com/t/yxGXPxc4ZyH

That would be all there is to it. I believe there was an issue where you cannot set a sidebar in the back-end despite not using the composer for that page. Testing currently with latest version of the theme (9.0.1) that seems to be fixed. I can’t remember if in 8.8.2 which you are using this was fixed.
It would be best to consider to update the theme, then this issue should be fixed. You will be able to create pages with default content and also set a sidebar in the back-end of the page.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Hello lawoman23,

It seems to be a caching problem! The surest way of the theme update is via FTP way! Please try this way from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Purge CDN files and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

@leepf
I have noted your suggestions, they may be available in a future update. I cannot promise anything however.
Currently none of the socials you mention are implemented in the theme. Sorry for the inconvenience.

You could use a social plugin with the socials you need for the time being. I believe there are many such plugins.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check if the composer has been updated automatically, there should be a notice message if it’s deactivated after you update.
If it’s deactivated, update the composer first, there should be an update button here

Hello, after updated the theme I rewrite the code you given to header-10.php but the header ads doesn’t disappear! Please help! Am I doing something wrong?

Bogdan B.

Hello,

You need to update the plugin as well. The new theme version detects if a thee plugin is not updated and disables it to prevent compatibility issues. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/

Thank you!
