Hello,
Last few days view count in posts stopped working on my site with Newspaper theme. I’m using Litespeed with LSCache and CloudFlare Pro plan. I tried few times to empty cache on both Litespeed and Cloudflare but it’s the same. What can cause that post view count to stop working?
Website is: Beograd.in
Thanks
Best regards
Hello!
First of all: Congrats for the new tagDiv-Composer! Excellent work! But I have a different question: My website’s mobile theme shows fullsize images instead of 741×486 in the Big grid M3 and mostly 533×261 instead of 265×198 on the rest of the frontpage. The images with the correct sizes do exist. I have no idea, why this happens. You can see the disaster on Googles PageSpeed, if you look after http://www.travel4news.at or http://www.cruise4news.at.
Greetings
Wolfgang
Hello lacox702,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized -> https://www.screencast.com/t/45GsBcKrI. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services is not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements. Hello pedroxi,
I have inspected your website and I saw that your loading page is poor when I access at the first time your homepage. Also, I checked your source page and I saw that you are using a lot of unknown plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues, like Autoptimize and lazy load plugin. I suggest you remove all of them, leave just our required plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, I have checked your website on Google Insights and your loading page is not a good one, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/W1tRoq9CUM You need to do some customizations as in that list is suggested if you want to achieve best theme results.

Hello pablojmelian,
Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what kind of plugins you are using to optimize your javascript and what customizations you have in this regard, sorry!

Ive done everything Gmetrix and other pagespeed websites ask me to do
I added CDN Cloudfare to the list
The website is still pulling 4 seconds to 5 seconds with 59 request for a grand total of 1MB
Whats the Deal?
Usually because if people need to modify the code in developing a website, it’s not readable once compressed.
However, what we do over here for our sites is use the Google recommend .js compression tool to minify the main .js file — remember you need to disable your caching, clear it, before swapping file otherwise you’re still loading old file even with new one in place.
correct way to compress your js file:
http://closure-compiler.appspot.com/home
ref:
https://developers.google.com/speed/articles/compressing-javascript
( I don’t work here … just resident smarty pants mcduff…. )
So having used the theme for two years with no problems – purchased it having researched it – it now moves to a proprietary page builder instead of the widely used VC – causing untold problems for lots of people.
Tagdiv should concentrate on what ‘news’ websites are doing – not ‘improve’ something that is already excellent.
I have 7,000+ posts – 20 new each day, I run a business
Firstly it was the ‘super fast’ mobile theme that can’t take ads from the desktop version – ads are how we make money
Now updates will only be issued for the new page builder in the future – not VC – that’s not what we paid for
People have paid for this product – there should be updates for both options and the chance to stay the same.
Do you ever research what news websites are doing now? Newspaper isn’t that much better than many other options anymore.
But now it’s more difficult than ever to use, content is disappearing, people are confused, and developers aren’t improving the features that other news sites are adopting, and so it will probably falling behind.
Plus – my site loads in under 2 seconds with the right settings, I fail to see how any improvement in using the TagDiv Composer is worth any speed improvement it may give
I think you’ve made a mistake with 8 – and have to look elsewhere now which is a shame – look through available themes that are bestsellers for news – they all use VC – and everyone is happy – this improvement isn’t worth the hassle
Hi,
I have inspected your website and it seems to be loading properly at the moment. There are no ridiculous loading times from what I can see. You can try this speed optimization guide to improve loading speed
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
There are multiple solutions here on the forum as well, that you can try.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I’ve just installed the latest version and page load time is ridiculous.
Can’t really understad why, it was ok with the previous theme.
Any suggestions?
Website is dreamgeek.ro
Thanks
Hi,
First try to deactivate all your plugins except the ones provide in the theme package, clear any caching installed, the check to see if you still have the problem with the login and the slow back-end. Also check these parameters in the theme system status and make modifications if needed, according to this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
For website page speed optimization you can follow this guide after trying the steps from above
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
Hello fellas,
Just trying to make Newspaper theme 8 abit more useful :). I’m delivering a short post to all the fellas who are still trying to somehow rank their website, hope it helps.
1. The Title on top of page is already H1 Title, so don’t include H1 tags in your post. Instead, use H2 tags, these will appear as Site Links in SERPS. Here are just two of my posts that appeared on Google:
2. Don’t fall for green light for Yoast, it’s a stupid (yes!) for keywords. Use your imagination, google already uses synonyms if you have ever done a google search yourself. Instead of stuffing up your article with keywords, focus on content and mix up keywords variation.
3. Disable Yoast auto stop keyword stripping. It’s a dumb feature again. Say you have a post- How to download video, it will detect to and remove it automatically. Disable it under Yoast>Advanced>Permalinks>Clean up permalinks>Keep Stop Words in Slug.
4. Use Excerpts as a different version of your meta description. Don’t underestimate the power of them, they are not jsut useful to your readers on your site, but also useful to Search Engine Bots. Use them wisely to add secondary meta description.
5. Image- I would recommend you optimize the image size first before uploading it. Name the file with your keywords before uploading to WordPress and add Alt tags, Title and Description to it. Sometimes, images rank better in Google if optimized correctly and they can help you beat up the top ranking posts. Use Wp-Smush also.
6. Use External Links plugin to disable free juice passing from your website to other sites. Use it globally to keep the Search engines to crawling your website only. You don’t want to send cream to other sites, do you?
7. Do constant interlinking, it’s part of super seo!
8. Use cornerstone articles from Yoast wisely. These can actually help you rank better some of your very important posts. I am currently targeting three posts to test it out.
9. If you want to reduce bounce rate, try Inline Related Posts plugin. It’s superb to show related posts inside your post.
10. Disable Jetpack breadcrumbs. I am still testing it though, but they were kind of messing up with Newspaper default breadcrumbs.
11. Remove Websites under comments, a Website tab will just confuse users and will also add to spam. To disable it, simply add code below in your theme functions and also mobile theme functions:
add_filter('comment_form_default_fields', 'website_remove');
function website_remove($fields)
{
if(isset($fields['url']))
unset($fields['url']);
return $fields;
}
I hope it helps, will try to update the guide as much as i can though. Do help me with it if you also want to help others. You can follow me here: https://medicforyou.in
And be sure to check my other guide too on forums: Speedify your Newspaper Blog
@drvarun5179
When you have the chance, could you make me some suggestions per what I could do more? Here’s my website: https://esportsmedia.ro/
Worth to mention: I can’t use CF’s Rocket Loader. It messes up everything for me, including the pictures and the menus (you cannot click on search anymore, for example).
Most of the things you mentioned should already be implemented, but I am still miles away from reaching 60% in google speed
Everything work well with this new version, i just have one problem with Image Box :
Like in your demo:
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/image-box/
I can’s have link, i put my link then i save it in tagdiv composer, then i save page, but link don’t work, link open same url as page with /#, like on demo link, all of them link:
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/image-box/#
Hope you’ll resolve that.
And congratulation for Newspaper 8.
Without Visual Composer my website win a lot of speed, it’s incredible!
I am not sure, but i will like you to test my website speed- https://medicforyou.in . Temme how it works and how fast it is. I will tell you everything i have implemented so far.
Here are my test results i just performed: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/medicforyou.in/WVue54KW

A quick update-
To call shortcodes in php, one can use:
<?php
echo do_shortcode('[CONTACT-US-FORM]');
?>
Perhaps adding div to them is more smoother. </br> after div can be used to create breaks though.
Conclusion: I was indeed unable to set up bbPress completely (tried everything, but there are many bugs which just can’t be fixed, including enabling tinymce support in mobile theme functions).
So, i rather installed phpBB on subdomain (https://doc.medicforyou.in). Funny bbPress installation messed up phpBB installation and i couldn’t use forum.medicforyou.in since the directory of wordpress was also pointing to subdomain, thereby, creating two phpBB installations- https://medicforyou.in/forum and https://forum.medicforyou.in .
For those requiring help on installation of https over subdomains- simply add same cloudfare origin certificate settings to your subdomain (Guide).
Thank you for support, i wish there was compatibility of mobile theme with bbpress. Never mind. 🙂
Hello JohnBull,
Please notice that our Page builder is light than Visual Composer and after our tests, the theme seems to be faster than using Composer plugin. Most likely, you have some problems or customizations through your website which might influence the page speed and we recommend to optimize it, according to t our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme.
Thanks for the message!
Basic follow up recommendations are already provided by the developers. I will give you some additional tips (considering you are using the mobile theme plugin already):
1. Optimize images
>Reduce the size of files just before uploading. Use this software- Caesium, and set quality to 80 (i set 60-80 depending on existing size). Resize image to 1280 maximum, unless you really need to show images with high quality.
>Use Wp Smush and regenerate thumbnail plugin.
2. Use a CDN– Cloudfare is free. Its easy to set up too.
3. Https support– trust me, its really good. You can always google https vs http to find why https is good. You can get a FREE SSL certificate from Cloudfare indeed and implement it on your website.
4. Remove query strings– so far, i use Remove Query Strings From Static Resources plugin to fix it. Query strings are actually calling server for something specific.
5. Use WP Super cache (supported by theme) and Cloudfare and yes, GTMetrix plugin. These 3 will make your website god of speed.
6. Heartbeat control– its pretty much for reducing load on your server, not recommended if you can’t implement it properly.
7. Wp Optimize– cleans out waste garbage in your database.
Hope this helps. I personally tested them all out. So far, i just couldn’t figure out a way to fix those etags.
Hi,
After inspecting the website, at the moment it seems to be loading very fast
– https://www.screencast.com/t/CfUTKlls3ct6
The homepage, post page and category pages seem to load properly. Please follow the suggestions mentioned in the speed optimization guide to further improve loading speed. Also install the recommended caching plugin with the specified configuration. After you take these steps there should be a noticeable improvement.
Thanks
Hi,
Please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it, and see the problem. The website optimization regarding page speed has to be done on your part, that is explained in the guide provided above. It is also in most part directly related to the server configuration you are using, to deliver the content
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks
Pagespeed shows a poor score for my website. Why like that? When I am using your theme?
Hi,
The website loading speed is dependent by many factors. From the theme perspective you can use this caching plugin for best results, with the mentioned configuration
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also there is this guide for page speed optimization
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Thanks for your understanding!
Note – my California website found in the showcase has not been “re-optimized” — we had server crash, went to backup, then stopped tweaking with mod_pagespeed off, in favor of testing the move to http/2 … but still 89/91 when loading ads on page, with https, and with mod_pagespeed OFF and no caching plugin …. so…. it’s doable even when half-assed like mine are right now 😉
