1) The head tag can be found in header.php in the main root folder of the theme. I cannot provide any recomendation on hgow to implement the code. It has to be implemented exactly as the instructions for it say. Usually you add the code in between the head tags.

2) The heading title tags are a full on debate. We decided to add them as a h3 so the user can add h1 and h2 tags inside the content itself. They should be what you want them to be. There is no standard on what item should have what tag. You simply need to have the tags present. This however is veeery debatable. Lots of people have different opinions on this. You can find many more online resources on this topic so it remains for you to decide if this is the best way to go about it.

That code ads the site title in the browser tab or screen. If you remove this you will see the url in the title tab, but this will not affect google.
The theme does not control the information displayed by google in search results. In the search results usually are displayed the titles of the pages. I am not sure why google appends the site’s url to the end of the titles from search results but you can check this link for more details in this regard: https://yoast.com/google-page-title/

Please clear all caches and refresh the id in the social counter. That means adding a new id like cocacola and hitting the save button. and then reverting to your own. I tested your id on my social counter and it worked as expected. I have made a few tests with this but it will not accept any shortcodes even if seo yoast is used but I could not get a shortcode working on a WP default theme either. It seems WordPress does not support shortcodes in the description by default. I see you reverted to the newspaper 6 at the moment. The top menu did not change and the login widget is still present. Fonts can be changed as before from the theme panel. If thse option do not work for you, you might have a plugin conflict. As the code got changed in newspaper 7, some plugins might not be compatible anymore in version 7. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test the login and the fonts again.

The layout of the homepage+latest articles cannot be changed from the theme panel. The element was placed at the end of the page as it has pagination and that needs to be at the bottom. Unfortunately the mobile menu is the same whether you use the mobile theme or not. The mobile menu got a face-lift and is now animated as can be seen on our demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ The mobile theme is different from the mobile menu itself. Unfortunately if you do not like the new menu, you will have to revert back to newspaper 6 as there is no way of switching to the old menu.

The category description gets an mce editor that you can use to add content to them if you use the SEO Yoast plugin. If you do not want to use the seo yoast plugin, you will have to edit the wordpress files as this is a default wordpress feature.
