Hello,

I understand your request now. The example above only placed an image on the category page.
You will need to edit the top post files located here: http://screencast.com/t/5V35g4r7aO
Every file corresponds to a top post style you set from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/Koefd7FWIm
The shortcode i used was from a visual composer single image element. You can see visual composer shortcodes in text mode when editing a page. You can add a single image element in visual composer when editing a page and style it as you want: http://screencast.com/t/VBHhKVZuk2Oy -http://screencast.com/t/yv4uWDhsMH
Then after you are done with the image settings, you can enter text edit mode and copy the code created for the image to the files as i have shown you above using do_shortcode. You basically copy and paste a visual composer element which is responsive by default.
But the code will not set the feature image anywhere. It just places an image on the category page.
If you want to set the featured images on all 8000 post, besides the manual version, one thing you might try, if you already have an image “in the post” of some type, use the “auto post thumbnail pro” plugin which will automatically take first image from post (or from external site, if necessary) and then generate thumb and assign as “featured” image in every post.
Unfortunately there is no other option for this. You can maybe find a free plugin to do this as well.
I hope this helps
Thank you!

Hi,
You need to keep the path as the original under the child theme. So, yes it should be in /Newspaper-child/includes/wp_booster
Thanks.

Hello,

You will need to copy the code from td_module_single_base.php and paste it in td_module.php and place it somewhere it does not affect other code, like for example here: http://screencast.com/t/CafGhKBymhz,
Then you need to edit td_module_8.php and add the line like in this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/koCkDeey
<?php echo $this->get_views(); ?>
You can then use the css from above in the theme panel->custom css box for positioning.

I hope this helps!
Thanks.

Hello,

You can try to check your system status and see if the options there are within the recommended parameters (they should be green): http://screencast.com/t/ZuwtasWUh
If your values need to be increased you can follow this topic to adjust them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/image-error-and-status/https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can also check if you meet the system requirements for our theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
You can also try to rename your widgets.The widget area only accepts the basic characters. No symbols or language specific letters. Try to change your titles to just plain text and check if the issue is still there.
You can also try it on a different browser to rule out browser related issues as well.

Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello,

If no spaces are typed inside your content, then selecting excerpt length in words will not work. Please select the excerpt length in letters. (if there is no space between letters, it is considered one word.
As for the ad, the adsense code is present only it is not yet appeared. http://screencast.com/t/Exp4HHsF6N. Sometimes adsense can take up to 48 hours after you get the code, for the ad to actually display. If more than 48 hours passed, you can follow this link: https://support.google.com/adsense/troubleshooter/2473099?hl=en

Hello,

Unfortunately your iframe was not made to be responsive: http://screencast.com/t/a9yn4dRtweqhttp://screencast.com/t/xRsgIbpcn5Su
If a fixed width is specified, it will stay fixed on mobile as well. You will have to make the change at your end because an iframe cannot be targeted with custom css. You will have to change the code for the iframe and set the width to percentage instead of fixed. You can use a width of 100%, then it will become responsive.

Thank you!

Hi,
Are you maybe referring to the ajax filter? http://screencast.com/t/JGpLRFMuh,
If this is what you mean, you can exclude categories from the ajax filter by using category id’s. You can get the category id from here: http://screencast.com/t/OKsDtKVi3G5 and then use category id’s to select which category you want to display in the ajax menu: http://screencast.com/t/nXMpYdnWU
If this is not what you mean, please provide a screenshot so we can understand better your request.
Thanks.

Hi,

I just tested this on my local installation and the files you referred to are indeed the ones used for ‘no thumb’. It worked on my end, i just simply edited the image and it showed up:
http://screencast.com/t/V81WDLyQPYlehttp://screencast.com/t/M79JT1Ma3bW
Please make sure you edit the right thumbnail though. You can see thumbnail used for every block/module here: http://screencast.com/t/2n8ObkP7w0

Thank you!

Hello

1) I do not understand how you want it to move with the content. It did that before modifying it.If you want your background to move with the content, that means a sticky background, exactly as it was before.
If you want to multiply the image you will have to alter the theme files and change the jquerry code here: http://screencast.com/t/v7FUwSFORNHR.

2) There is no setting to adjust the width and height of the block elements. It can be done with css but we do not recommend this as it will break the site layout.Your best bet is to use them in their default state and use bigger images or use the thumbnail upscale plugin to stretch your images to fit the containers. (the theme crops images but does not enlarge them)

3)You can follow this topic to see how one of our helpful users got it working. He even created a tutorial for it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/google-custom-search-integration-to-newspaper/

Hi,

I believe it happens due to your server configuration which is not responding, it could be due to a delay or it could also be a temporary issues so you can try this a few times and if you still get this error please contact your host provider and let him know about this, ask them to unblock our demo in order to retrieve the theme data. It could also happen due to your wp install or other plugins might also cause this so you could also test this on a fresh wp install and let us know if you still get the same result.

Thanks.

Hello,

You can manage the title length from the theme panel for every block/module: http://screencast.com/t/wmkgTlrL0I4o

Hello,

Posts already have that option. The featured image does exactly that. Use a post template with a big featured image and you will have the desired effect: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-if-you-only-knew-how-much-your-relative-churn-rate-matters/
For the categories, you will need to modify the top post files in order to achieve your goal and you can add a condition to filter your categories and images: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_category
You can also use a do_shortcode to place you images. For example:
The category number represents the category id. You can get it from here: http://screencast.com/t/OKsDtKVi3G5

<?php
if (is_category(13)) {
echo do_shortcode('[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="887"][/vc_column][/vc_row]')
}

elseif (is_category(14)){
echo do_shortcode('[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="886"][/vc_column][/vc_row]')
}
?>

You can add some padding to the image from visual composer from design options in order to make it fit the content.

I hope this helps
Thank you!

Hello,

The theme can only use youtube or vimeo as a featured video.. You can embed other videos in wordpress on posts or pages (inside the content), just not use it as a featured video. This request is on our update list and hopefully in a future version of the theme we will be able to provide more video options for featured videos.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello,

The problem in the mobile version comes from the visual composer row settings. I have tested this myself and found that a full height row and other settings will cause this effect on the mobile version. These visual composer row options were not adjusted to work with the theme 100%. We usually recommend the default values set on the VC row. In your case you can use the default values on the row and just select the stretch row no padding value.(you can try different variations to see different results)

Hello,

The top menu was not intended to be displayed on the mobile version of the theme. We are working on fixes for the mobile menu and hopefully in a future version we will be able to provide a more complex mobile menu. Your problems with the menu originate from your custom/plugin menus. The theme was not meant to support other menus than the original ones. Adding extra menus and replacing the original ones could result in errors such as the one you described.

Thank you!

Hello,
Please make sure you have enough posts to display first. It shows 13 posts at this moment. Make sure you have more. If you do have more posts to display, you can try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and check again to rule out a plugin conflict.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

Hello,

Normally the theme crops 16:9 images as well as you can see in this screen: http://screencast.com/t/Sv07Wooz6
I used one of your images as featured image in a test grid.
I inspected your website and saw a part of the code that does not come from the theme: http://screencast.com/t/xqVrvg1ucVp Please make sure you do not use any image/thumbnail plugins.(Disable photon from jetpack as it is known to cause issues with our theme)
Please disable all your plugins, clear your cache and purge your cdn files. Then regenerate your thumbnails and see how it goes.
If the problem is still there afterwards please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can take a look. Please also provide a link to this topic so we know who you are.

Thank you!

Hello,
In header style 4 in order to change the size of the menu a bunch of properties will have to be changed.
Use this custom css to get it done:
.td-header-menu-wrap-full{
height:40px!important;
}
#td-header-menu{
min-height: 40px!important;
}
.sf-menu > li > a{
line-height: 40px!important;
}
.td-main-menu-logo{
height:40px!important;
}

Place it in the theme panel->custom css box. As for the logo, you can hide it with css and then use font awesome to insert text symbols in the menu if you want.

I hope this helps
Thank you!

Hello,

I will add this request on our list of updates and hopefully in a future version we will change the mobile version of the theme. The developers decide if it gets done or not though.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Hello,
I created the code on my top bar and it works at my end. Maybe you have some css for the top bar that does has a higher priority. You can use the !important attribute to make the css higher in priority. use it like so:

.td-header-top-menu{
font-size: 13px!important;
height: 60px!important;
}
.td-social-icon-wrap .td-icon-font{
font-size: 13px!important;
line-height:50px!important;
}
.td-header-sp-top-menu{
line-height:50px!important;
}

If it still does not work, please provide a link to your website so i can inspect it.
Thank you!
