For column text you can use h2 is not need to use h1 and if you want a bigger size you can change the font size.

Unfortunately we did not tested that plugin with our theme, and we can not provide support for untested plugins, sorry.

For footer you can use a custom css for that link and set the color you want ( white ), if you need help with this please provide me a link were I can inspect this link.

If you are not using any of them just leave them deactivate, because is possible to have some elements that maybe you need and the theme use those elements from those plugins;
But if you want to delete theme please make first a full backup to your website and theme, and tray on localhost or sub-domain to delete theme, maybe you are not using any of the features that those plugins are providing.

The last version of WPBakery is 5.7 but we tested only the version 5.6 with our theme ( because the v5.7 was release after we made the update ), so in current theme is the version 5.6; we recommend to use only the version that was tested with our theme.

1) Yes, the Newspaper 9.5 it is compatible with WPML.

Updating from newspaper 4 is no longer considered an update. It will be exactly like switching to a new theme. There have been so many changes since then that the current version is practical a new theme compared to newspaper 4. You can simply delete the old theme and install newspaper 9 just as a new theme and re-create your pages and widgets.
