Hi,
In this case it is better to update by FTP, delete the old theme and upload the new one
– https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
Due to the nature of the changes made in 9.7 it would be the best method
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Many of the theme files have been moved in the tagDiv composer after update 9.7. SO they don’t exist in the previous location, the automatic update could fail. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
So you want to display the modified date in the post page. You could use a cloud post template instead of code. If you use a cloud post template you can simply add the last modified date time format, in the template
– http://prntscr.com/nil303
This would be the best way of displaying the modified date in the post page, and easiest.
Check out some single templates designed by us – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single You can also design your own, or modify the ones that you import with the cloud library plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
The plugins have to be updated after each theme update, or they will not activate. Currently they cannot be updated with a patch if that is what you want to do.
If we will find a way to allow the plugin files to be modified without doing it in the main files directly, we will gladly provide it with the required documentation.
Thanks
There were some changes made to the theme in update 9.7 – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Now the tagDiv composer has to be active at all times to maintain the same functionality. If you have updated to the latest version please activate the tagDiv composer as well.
The issue you are referring to with the single image elements when both our composer and Visual composer are active, will be fixed in the next update. In the mean time the fix is to download this file – http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/tdc_map.zip and replace it in the tagDiv composer – http://prntscr.com/nikwre Teh single images will look and function correctly after doing this.
Sorry for this inconvenience, the fix will be included in the next theme update.
In case the page builder buttons don’t appear after you update the theme and theme plugins, we could take a look at it. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login. Please include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.
Hi,
If the theme has been downloaded from themeforest, then it is perfectly safe. The package is scanned by us and by Envato, so if downloaded from this source there will be no problem. This may be a false positive provided by the email system. Try sending it with a different mailing provider, or by different means.
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
This website – https://www.dringrid.ca/ seems to use 9.7.2, I browsed it for a while, works fine.
The other website uses 9.6.1, if this is planned to be launched in a short time maybe postpone the theme update for a later time.
The plugins you mention are compatible with the theme, there should be no problem using them, same as before the update.
Updating with the Envato plugin from what I know may fail sometimes. There were some users that have reported this in the past. The more reliable methods are by FTP or WordPress when it is possible to do so.
If you have sent us an email we will take a look at the problems. Due to the high level of queries in this period of time, our reply may be delayed longer than usual. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately that is not possible. When the mobile theme is active, the footer will not be the same as on desktop. The mobile theme will use a different footer template, regardless of what is used on desktop. That will be the case for post pages, category pages etc these will also use a different template.
The only way of displaying the desktop footer template and content on mobile, is to deactivate the mobile plugin.
Thanks
Hi,
1. That is the case at the moment. A cloud header can be used per category (a cloud category template is needed) but the posts that belong to that category won’t inherit the header. Post pages will use the general header set in the theme panel, or the one set in the cloud post template they use.
There could be a setting added in the future, so that a post template can be set for posts belonging to a category, maybe a header as well, can’t say for sure what will happen.
2. A different logo can be set for mobile, just switch to the phone viewport
– http://prntscr.com/nikaxd and click on the logo or add a logo element if there is none
– http://prntscr.com/nikbi9 – http://prntscr.com/nikbcd
3. On tablet it looks like this – http://prntscr.com/nikcz8 If there is not enough space the menu items will fall to a second row. You could try and reduce the space between the menu items on tablet – http://prntscr.com/nikdqr or even decrease the font size
– http://prntscr.com/nike6q
Let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Replied in your other topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/child-theme-30/
Hi,
Since theme update 9.7 most of the theme files have been moved in the tagDiv composer plugin – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So customizing these files is not possible to do in a child theme anymore. One way would be to modify them in the composer plugin directly, but the changes will be lost after a theme update because the plugins will be updated as well.
The child theme is now limited to a functions and style files, and a few files that were not moved in the composer and can still be used in it.
Maybe a solution will be found to be able to modify theme files found in the plugin more safely, we will create documentation for it if that happens. If you have more questions pleas let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
I could make a note of it and pass it along to the developer team. If possible please mention some more details about it, it will be much appreciated. Let me know.
Thanks
So the sharing does not appear in the post page when you select a site wide post template? That would be unusual, seems to work on my end.
Please specify if possible exactly what you are doing, so I can try and recreate it. Some screenshots would be helpful. If there is a problem with the share buttons we will fix it. Let me know.
Hi,
No need to activate the WPBakery plugin, bundled plugins don’t need a license. AN article about it here – https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/213762463-Bundled-Plugins?_ga=2.148850615.1240581804.1556603480-1715937315.1492175355
Simply install the plugin and use it, ignore the activation messages that may appear.
When there will be updates for the theme we will include the latest version of the bundled plugins at the time – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
The excerpt settings are per module, regardless of where they are located. So for example if I use module 1 to display posts in a category page – http://prntscr.com/nijw27
– http://prntscr.com/nijw8h
the excerpt setting will affect it – http://prntscr.com/nijwfv – http://prntscr.com/nijwi1
Which module are you using in the respective category page or pages? I will make more tests on my end, if there is a problem we will fix it. Let me know.
Also if you have other problems please mention them, here or in a new topic.
Thanks
Hi,
I tested some of the posts with the Facebook debugger – http://prntscr.com/niju71
– http://prntscr.com/niju8r
They seems to be shared alright.
Looks alright in Whatsapp as well – http://prntscr.com/nijuoy
If there are problems with some, try using the debugger tool
– https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
If you use the Yoast SEO plugin there should be no problem, it will add the necessary og data for the sharing on socials. Usually when there are issues a debug will fix them
Thanks
Hi,
The single templates are found in the composer plugin, in the legacy folder
– http://prntscr.com/nijozi
Most of the theme files that were moved are now in that folder. So you could do your modifications there, should work.
Hi,
I can’t see that ad at the moment – http://prntscr.com/ngri2j
Maybe something could be done with CSS. Could be the same issue as in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-menu-issue-2/ so that code may work.
Thanks
Hi,
I can’t say I am aware of any plans to implement such a feature, at the moment. All I can do is to add this topic as a request on our list. It will be considered.
Thank you for the suggestion. Please let us know if you have more questions.
Hi,
Which page builder have you used to build the pages? Also what theme version and WordPress version are you using?
When editing a page there should be buttons for each page builder
– http://prntscr.com/ngr7gf
But if you use for example the latest WordPress version and an older theme and plugins, the buttons may be missing, or the builders will not work properly. It is important to keep wordpress but also theme and plugins up to date, if possible. Let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you mentioning it, I will make a note of it and pass it along to the developer team.
@Tuudi Try a CSS like this to position the rating stars better – http://prntscr.com/ngpko2
.post-ratings img {
display: inline;
margin-bottom: -2px;
}
Should work, that plugin has a shortcode implementation from what I can see. I believe this is the one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-postratings/
@MKJ Would be the same for you if you use the same plugin. Seems to work for Tuudi. If it doesn’t work for you maybe it’s a plugin configuration issue.
Hi,
Should be like this to be correct
<div id="leaderboard"></div>
So the ad code you want to use is wrapped in the div container you mention. I tried using it around a demo ad, seems to appear – http://prntscr.com/ngp4oa
– http://prntscr.com/ngp4vx
Or maybe that is the entire ad code? doesn’t look like an ad code. Maybe there are detailed installation instructions from the ad provider. Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
There has been a new theme update released (9.7.2), it fixes various issues. Please try and update to this version. Then update the theme plugins as well. Let us know the results if possible.
Thanks
Hi,
That will not work, external images won’t appear in the element despite their thumbnail being show there. Only images in the media library will work. Maybe this will change in the future, can’t say for sure at the moment.
You could use a column text to load images from external URLs, for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/jcTRNxAaMYpr
Sorry for the inconvenience. Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
@wspeed Best to try by shortcode. Since theme update 9.7 the single template files have been moved in the tagDiv composer plugin – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So the post template files could be modified there directly – http://prntscr.com/ngorqf but not in a child theme anymore, because this means they will have to be remade after each update.
By shortcode you could create/import a cloud post template, place a column text in it (in the location where you want the rating to appear) and enter the plugin shortcode in it
– http://prntscr.com/ngoqk3
These are the cloud post templates created by us
– https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single.
You can also modify them after you import them, or create your own from blank
– http://prntscr.com/ngosqb
This should work, you could give it a try.
Thanks
