Hi,

That depends.

If you are referring to pages, they will indeed contain composer specific code, like his for example https://i.imgur.com/bwETPDz.png
In case the theme and the composer will not be used anymore on the website at some point, the pages will have to be recreated with the builder or method used at that time. We have no tool or plugin that can convert the shortcodes the composer uses, to a different builder or type of content. The page will simply have to be recreated.

If you are referring to posts, their content will be the same regardless of the theme used. The post content is not build with the composer so it does not contain code from it. The theme provides the post templates, and does not add anything in the post content, except ads when used.

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

It seems there are quite a lot of issues on your website, after updating the theme. I would suggest restoring a website backup to get it back to how it was before updating. Is this possible to do?
If that is possible, that should restore the website fully to how it was. Then we could attempt to update on a staging/testing copy of the website, would this be possible to create? This would be the better thing to do, especially if there are so many problems.

However, if you do not have a backup to restore, or it is not possible to restore it for some reason, then we will try to help get the website in order. In this case please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel may be needed. We will take a look and try to help as much as we can.

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

A custom font can be loaded in the theme panel https://i.imgur.com/k4l88Tw.png The font must have the woff format. Up to 5 custom fonts can be loaded in the theme.
After you load them, they will appear in the font selection options everywhere in the theme and in the composer.

So for example, here I am loading and using a custom font
https://i.imgur.com/r569Nbc.png
https://i.imgur.com/hAZnP5v.png
https://i.imgur.com/vTBAymH.png

Please try it.

Hi,

1. Does not work for which socials exactly? For some of the socials there are special requirements, in the theme panel https://i.imgur.com/tnIstYq.png Without these the social counter will not work for them. Let me know.

2. I believe there are plugins that will allow users to log in with socials. But the default WordPress login will have to be used then most likely, or a custom login from the plugin perhaps, not the theme login modal.
Try some plugins and make some tests to see how they work, for example https://www.wpfloor.com/free-wordpress-social-login-plugins/
Maybe something like this will be added in the theme at some point, I can’t say for sure however. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

3. That is correct. The latest articles section is added by the page template, not by the composer. Please check here https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-page-templates/ The settings for that section are in the backend of the page, not in the composer. What exactly would you like to do with it?

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

That would mean there is a problem. I checked the website now, it seems to work fine from what I can see https://i.imgur.com/SXgB6k8.png
It uses the latest theme version at the moment.
Are there still issues with it?
Or if you have solved them, were the issues caused by the theme?

Let me know.

I would also mention that there is no such thing as emergency support unfortunately. The quickest way to fix a website if there were major problems, is to restore a backup. A backup should always be made before updating the theme or even WordPress.

Hi,

That header style should display the logo image in full, if it is set in full however. I believe you have set a thumbnail of the logo as logo https://i.imgur.com/XJlBBma.png

Please remove the current logo and set it again in full, like this
https://i.imgur.com/a5yzxyD.png
https://i.imgur.com/vJqRDC8.png
Then it will be displayed in the size in which it was created.

Hi,

I believe the ad code you are using has no link in it. It must have a link if you want it do direct somewhere when the image is clicked. Right now that code simply loads an image.

Please check for example here https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-using-other-ads/

This would be a code that displays an image and also has a link:
Image – https://i.imgur.com/9JTDpJ4.png
Link around the image – https://i.imgur.com/A1B2lz7.png

Of course, the link can be anything you want, for example the code from here – https://pastebin.com/sudxus4H

I hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.

Hi,

So you mean these sub-categories – https://i.imgur.com/EsnYxa4.png
Those are actually displayed not by the date the categories were created, but alphabetically. Categories don’t have a publish in WordPress as far as I know.

They are displayed like that automatically, and there is no setting to make them display in a different way. Maybe through modifications in the theme they could be made to display alphabetically descending, now they are ascending. Would you like to try and do this?

Thank you!

Hi,

Just to be clear and avoid misduerstandings, what preloading are you referring to? For what elements and how exactly are you planning to preload them, or what option are you referring to?

Preloading or prioritizing the content above the fold is indeed useful. The blocks have an option for preloading the posts they display – https://i.imgur.com/3DpX6Mz.png That is available for blocks and per block only however, not the whole page or other elements from the page.
Preloading posts in a block means they will be displayed faster when using the ajax menu filter, as they are already loaded on page load. Opposed to using the ajax menu and waiting a little for the posts to load.
The relatively new CSS analyzer tool we added a few updates ago also helps, with the CSS. It will split and load the critical CSS first, and the rest will be loaded in the footer.

Preload capabilities are usually provided by optimization plugins or caching plugins, for example – https://onlinemediamasters.com/preload-key-requests-wordpress/ Some have options to preload specific resources and URLs. The theme has no actual general preload option/setting for a website.

These being said, how exactly could we help in the matter? Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

I tested it and it seems to work – https://i.imgur.com/1puch6K.jpg
Are you using the latest Newsmag theme version (4.9.6)?

If you do, and the right click menu is not working for you then there is a problem in your case. I suggest sending us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with a link to the website, admin login, and a link to this forum topic. That would be the fastest way for us to try and find out why it does not work on your website. Let us know.

Hi,

Please activate the indicated size – https://i.imgur.com/PIUF2UG.png
The thumbnail sizes settings are in the theme panel – https://i.imgur.com/48xn6J3.png
It may require to regenerate the thumbnails as well. As a first step however just enable the respective size there, and check again. If there are problems let me know.

Hi,

That would mean there is a problem. It can have a few causes, besides plugins. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login, also access to cPanel or any server manager the hosting provides. We will investigate why it happens in this case. This is the fastest way for us to try and find the cause. Let us know.

Hi,

That is required when using the mobile theme plugin, you will have to create a desktop page and a mobile page, for each page.

The same content will be displayed on mobile only when not using the mobile theme in general – https://i.imgur.com/2EwywJQ.png or excluding specific pages from the mobile theme like this – https://i.imgur.com/pNdQhv7.png

The mobile theme is optional. If want the same content for pages to be displayed on desktop and mobile, please deactivate it.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Thank you!

Hi,

Let’s take these one at a time, to avoid misduerstandings.

In this page – https://blog.turkishairlines.com/en/authors/
I see the biography is indeed translated, but the author name is not it seems. There could be an issue there, I will have to test this on my end as well, and if the same happens I will notify the developer team immediately.

In an author page I see the that the biography and the name are not translated
https://blog.turkishairlines.com/tr/author/elifdegirmenci/
https://blog.turkishairlines.com/en/author/elifdegirmenci/
It should be changed if you used the string translation to translate it. I will test this as well.

Regarding the post count, I believe it will count all the posts the author has posted on the website. If you do not want this to happen, there are ways. I could either provide a solution for the author box you are currently using, or maybe you could use other elements in the author template instead of the author box
https://i.imgur.com/oO2NYXU.png

Regarding the author base in the URL, I don’t think WPML can translate it
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/author-url-is-not-translated/
You could try the solution provided there, if you would like o change the author base in the permalink.

I will be testing to see how it is on my test install, mainly the author name and bio. These should be changed if they are translated in the string translations in WPML. maybe there is a problem with it however. If I missed something let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please try to understand that we try to reply to all support request as soon as possible, in the order in which they are received, and also within the allocated support schedule mentioned at the top of the forum page -> https://prnt.sc/10sc3z1 This is fair to all theme users that request support. Sorry for any inconvenience.

1. The blocks the theme provides have pagination options https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ All of them have the pagination options mentioned in the guide. The pagination is not automatic, it will have to be actually used by the visitor in order to work. The blocks will display the posts they are set to initially, then using the pagination will make them display the next posts. How would this automatic pagination work exactly, even if the blocks would have it?

2. That is not possible unfortunately. The modules that form blocks and grids can only show categories as a category tag, the primary category of the post will be displayed https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/ The modules cannot display tags, only categories. The tags a post has will be displayed in the single post page.

Hi,

Hi,

I am sorry for the delay, and for this inconvenience. I remember when you mentioned this issue at the time. However after there were some modifications to how the theme works with WPML, I though it was solved.

So from what I remember you are using 2 languages, English and Turkish, the main one being Turkish.

You are then translating the ad spots containing ads, from the theme panel, using the string translation.

Then while the secondary language is selected, and saving various settings in the theme panel, the translated strings are removed from WPML, and permanently.

Is this correct? Please let me know. Sorry again for this inconvenience.

Thank you!

Hi,

If possible, mention the questions one at a time, and wait until we reply, or all at once. Replying multiple times in the topic will only delay our response, because it will refresh the topic date.

4. So a dropdown in category pages, like this one maybe at the top of the grid? https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/tagdiv-fashion/tagdiv-vogue/ That dropdown is available at this time only for standard category template, cloud templates can’t display it. Perhaps they will be able to do so in the future.

Category pages will display all the posts from the respective category, including the name of the category. They will not display the number of posts the category has, the theme cannot do that.
Does the name of the category, meaning the category title, not appear on your website in category pages? Please provide a link to a category page from your website.

Regarding the ratio of the image, that is the ratio of the featured image you use. Each image has an aspect ratio. So the results can be different in the theme modules, depending on the images you use https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
What is the problem exactly? Please provide more details, examples, links etc. because I don’t quite understand what you want to do.
This is valid for any question basically, provide as many details as possible, screenshots, links when needed, for a better understanding.

Thank you!

Hi,

That is usually caused the cache configuration. What caching plugin are you using on the website?

Some have options for using a mobile theme, and they have to be activated. Like the super cache we recommend for example https://tagdiv.com/wp-super-cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and this setting -> https://prnt.sc/10a7r0t

So when a mobile theme is used (it can be any theme and mobile theme, not just our own) it would be better if there was such a setting, to be activated, or issues like that can happen, like the mobile theme being displayed on desktop.

Thank you!

Hi,

We always try to help. One important thing to try and avoid in a topic, is to reply two or more times, before we get a change to do so, that will only delay our response. We reply from the oldest to the newest topic, and multiple replies will refresh the topic date. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am checking the website https://www.mijnhardloopschoen.nl/
I see you are using the default WordPress blog homepage at this time, and not a static page like this https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/

This link would work if you created a page called “site” https://www.mijnhardloopschoen.nl/site/ Normally that is how a link to a page from the website has the URL. Does such a page exist on the website?

Thank you!

Hi,

Let’s try to discuss each of the issue/questions one at a time if possible. A link to the website would have been helpful with some of them.

1. Regarding the theme activation with the key, that issue can happen sometimes. Usually it is temporary, and trying at a later time works. Or you could try the manual activation instead https://www.screencast.com/t/EL4k48Lq
If there still is a problem activating the theme with the key, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website, admin login, also the key. We will check.

2/3 Regarding the mobile display issue, did you maybe activate the optional mobile theme plugin? This is the guide https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/ Most of the live demos do not use the mobile theme. The mobile theme will help with the mobile performance however, if you wish to increase it. Test with and without it, there should be a noticeable difference.

4. In category pages it depends. Ascending or descending in terms of what exactly? Do you mean by publish date? You can edit the category template with the composer, click on the grid or the post loop from the template, and check the available sorting option. For example they can be set to display posts by publish date, oldest first https://prnt.sc/10a77hk By default they are latest first.

Thank you!

Hi,

1. There are indeed a few demo ads, simple images, in the theme demos. But they can be removed and replaced after installing the demo. If demo ads are still displayed, that means you did not actually removed them from where they are set.

For the header, you are using a cloud header https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/ Please edit for example the homepage with the composer, click on the header ad and remove the demo ad https://prnt.sc/10a6oe3
Then configure the ad box to display the header ad, if you entered a code in the theme panel header ad section https://prnt.sc/10a6pvj

2. How can I help with this exactly, screenshots to what? In the theme you can enter the ad codes or set the ads, and the theme will load them, that would be all there is to it. I don’t quite understand what you would like me to help with. If you have more questions about the method of displaying ads using the theme, or there are issues, with that I will try to help. Mention the details and I will take a look.

Thank you!

Simion C.

Hi,

That may happen, a sticky header will be displayed over some of the content. I could take a look at it however. Please provide a link to the website where this can be seen.

Hi,

The theme has a few sliders, but they are for posts. For images there would be this gallery slide https://forum.tagdiv.com/gallery-2/
It can be seen here for example https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/
However, if you are looking for a more advanced gallery, with a specific look or functionality, I would suggest trying a few gallery plugins, there should be plenty of free ones to check out.

Hi,

What type of Adsense ads are you using exactly? I believe you may be using auto ads, is that correct?

These are auto ads https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9274634?hl=en&ref_topic=28893

That type of ad has to be loaded like so, according to the Google specifications https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9274516?hl=en&ref_topic=28893 which is once in the header, between the head tags, not multiple times if that is what you are doing.

So if you are indeed using auto ads, and you want to use them properly, please enter the code as mentioned by Google. Enter it only once in the website, here https://prnt.sc/10a1m50

Auto ads can’t be controlled much in terms of positioning. The code has to be loaded once on the website, and Google will decide where they appear, they are called auto ads after all.

Thank you!
