@awtown We’re sorry for the confusion. The css include method has been change in theme’s version 2.0 and this change was mentioned in theme’s update log: http://screencast.com/t/wCnxUL0dfyeo and in child theme’s documentation also: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/ Please just follow my instructions on this and if you still can’t manage it address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and assist you on this.

Thanks!

Hi Mladen Gradev,

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, however the 2.3 update process is not different and it can be done easily using any method from the ones we have provided in theme’s update guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ and doing this as instructed shouldn’t cause any issues. We have tested the theme rigorously before releasing it and found no issues. Of course using the child theme may involve other actions that needed to be attended besides those mentioned in theme’s update guide as I’ve details in my previous reply.

Please let us know if you need us to take a look at this and address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and we will get back to your as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Hi,

The theme doesn’t alter the .htaccess file so I doubt this, and the LinkedIn sharing works for us you can test this on our demo: http://screencast.com/t/KjcEAe4uVK1n

I’m not what copula be the case of this, we have to investigate and document on this to find a possible reason. Please also address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and we will get back to your as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Hi Robby and Thanks Chris!

I’ve also replied you via email on this and checked your site there and didn’t see the problem you initially reported and I wasn’t aware of your posts here so it my reply was a bit off of this topic.

At this point I’m not aware why this occurred however concerning theme altering the .htaccess file I can tell you that it doesn’t so this may happened due to a plugin you use. I see you lots of plugins and among them you have the Easy Updates Manager one which I believe it’s responsible for auto updates. We haven’t tested this plugin with the theme so I’m not aware if its functionality and it may be possible not to work well with the theme and generate issues. In this scope we have tested and provided the solution to use the Envato Toolkit plugin to manage theme’s auto updates, you can find a guide on this here: http://screencast.com/t/EZ0YVDIohttps://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ ( this is made for the newspaper theme but the update process works in the same manner for newsmag theme also).

The latest theme available is version 2.3.1 – http://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331

If you decide to update it, considering all customization you now have we advise you to do a full backup of your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and also consider the steps I’ve provide below:

– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

Hope this helps
Thanks!

Hi David,

I’ve checked your site and noticed the linkedin sharing issues however I’m not sure how this happens, I see you already use Yoast which adds the necessary open graph tags however those informations aren’t picked up.

This could also happen if you have any security modules active or if you have any rules preventing linkedin sharer to grad the necessary informations from your site. I’ve tried to update the informations but had no effect so I believe this may be the case for you, check this discussion and check your configuration for anything similar: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17083967/linkedin-share-doesnt-show-any-info-just-the-main-url-of-our-website

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hi awtown,

We’re sorry for all the difficulties you face concerning this, like Andrei also stated we do our best to make the update process as well as theme’s administration and its configuration as simple as possible unfortunately due to some fixes would needed implemented the child theme has also been updated but to update it you will not need to overwrite all your modifications, it’s enough to just replace the code you now have in your child theme functions file: http://screencast.com/t/vOMJX9yIaxMv with the one from latest theme’s version: http://screencast.com/t/PydUD7zO3E and make sure you do this after you update the theme.

I’m not aware to which files you made customizations using the child theme but you also have to make sure your changes can still be applied to files now present on latest theme version that’s why you have to check each theme update change log and make sure that among the modified files there aren’t any of the files you have customized and if there are make sure your customizations can still be done to those files and update those files code and add it customizations. So in this process is recommended that you first backup your child theme and all modifications then check each file you’ve customized and if it’s ok add it in the same path in the child theme, if not make adapt the changes then add the file. In order to compare files you can also use winmerge according to this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/compare-theme-files-winmerge-tutorial/

All themes update logs and modified files can be found on theme’s product page on themeforest: http://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331 ( down the page ) and/or on theme’s blog: http://tagdiv.com/blog/ – starring with 2.2 update each update has an specific article which contains all informations about the update.

If you still can’t manage this and you need additional assistance or informations, please fell free to ask and address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and also provide a link to this conversation and give us ftp and wp access.

Again! We’re sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks!

@XS22
Here is how you can regenerate them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/ however I doubt this will solve your issues as thumbs are used on modules and blocks, not on pages and you use visual composer’s page builder there, the css code should work. I’ve also replied you via email so please give me a working user there and I’ll take a closer look at this.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for posting details and results of your experience on this however you have omitted to also give us informations about what ‘weather’ you refer too as the theme doesn’t provide any features in relaxation to this.

Please also note that theme’s API system allows to alter or create new theme elements as we also state in its docs: http://screencast.com/t/WyPdlTYZmfS

Thanks

Hi,

Not sure what you mean, do you need to have the logo on full width? If so please use one of theme’s header with full logo, header styles 9/10/11: https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/ Let us know if this is not what you need and provide more details in this regard.

Thanks

Hi,

In order to have your adsense ads banners re-sized for each screen device the ad code must be placed within theme ad spots.. only then it will be delivered according to the screen width of the device on which your site is loaded. Having the code placed in adrotate plugin and the plugin shortcode will make the theme render plugin’s shortcode so the banner ads responsiveness should be set from the plugin or use theme’s ad spot and place the adsense code there then you will have the ad re-sized as expected.

Thanks

Hi snowwatchGB,

I’ve checked your site and found you’re not using an adsense ad code and it doesn’t have the same structure: http://screencast.com/t/qHX6oUQi and that’s why the theme doesn’t re-sizes it and it look as it does on tablets screens.

Please make sure you use there just and adsense ad code: http://screencast.com/t/wTlFZSlu and test this again, this is how it should look: http://screencast.com/t/YBfXlkO8

If you need to rotate ads there we suggest you try an ad manager plugin like AdRotate like we also suggested in theme’s ads guide: http://screencast.com/t/1QFQWqVE1Aohttps://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ad/

Thanks

Hi again,

I have tested the VC Image carousel element and found no issues with it on mobiles, it works fine: http://screencast.com/t/oJqZYlvyPNShttp://screencast.com/t/UXZCWNoUdgo so please let us know if this is the image carousel you have also used and if so give more details so we can recreate and investigate this.

I have checked your site and noticed you now use WpF Ultimate Carousel for images which we haven’t tested so it may not work fine with the theme. If this is the cause I suggest you contact plugin’s authors and let them know about this, they might have a solution for you.

Thanks for the message!

Hi jorgecastro91,

I can’t reply you via email so I’m writing here. I have checked your site on mobile and it seems the image does load well now so I guess you have managed to fix it: http://screencast.com/t/YAspEt6K

Let us know if I’m mistaken and you still haven’t and also let us know how to recreate this.

Hi Kortris,

You could also try this: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/58119/slug-should-i-use-latin-characters-only and the plugin provided there for greek slugs.

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

Hi emssp,

Glad you’ve managed to get this done. We still need to test the qTranslate X with the theme so I’ll also add this on our todo list for revision and consider it then.

Thanks for sharing this solution!
