Please test this without any plugins active and leave just Visual Composer plugin active and also empty cache then check again. Use the latest theme update(1.5) and the plugins that come with theme files.

Hi,

You could set a custom sidebar for each category from Theme Panel -> Categories , use blocks that display posts from that specific category.
The posts by default inherit the sidebar from their category. You can also exclude current post from the query – http://screencast.com/t/nA1mQ7EENM

Please try this without any plugins active and also make sure you empty cache as well and see if it works.
The issue with saving settings usually appears because the server security module blocks the access to admin-ajax.php file. Please make sure that you don’t have errors in console while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error. Use Chrome, click right and choose Inspect like this: http://screencast.com/t/ajQ8B1AV

Unfortunately the Text widget can’t be customize from settings like the block, but you can use customize it with css code in Theme Panel > Custom css : http://screencast.com/t/xLM4mDUxQiMp

I’m not sure what you mean, but if you want to create custom blocks(other that the theme has), you’ll need custom work for this which we cannot offer at this time as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
