Hello!

1. This situation appear when you are using the mobile theme plugin and the cache plugin that you have does not feature options for a separate mobile theme plugin therefore do not know when to deliver the mobile version and when to deliver the desktop version.
We tested with our theme the WP Super Cache and with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope that helps you!

2. Your child theme needs to contain in the style.css file the following code:

/*!
Theme Name: Newspaper Child theme
Theme URI: http://themeforest.net/user/tagDiv/portfolio
Description: Child theme made by tagDiv
Author: tagDiv
Author URI: http://themeforest.net/user/tagDiv/portfolio
Template: Newspaper
Version: 9.0c
*/

Thank you!

Hello!

The issue can be from a plugin conflict, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
If this problem is not solved after that, then we need to take a look and see what happened there.
Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide the following:

– a link to this topic in order to identify you
Our team will take a look!

We had all these enabled, but tried a completely different size with height defined and worked. Maybe a cache problem with jetpack. Thanks anyway.

Hello,

Please check if you have this option enable from Single Post Author and in tab General => https://www.screencast.com/t/2LqJDjUNnY
Also, sometimes this issue can be caused by a plugin conflict, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache(also from your browser) and try again.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Hi Calin,

Thanks agian for a quick reply. I managed to solve it!

I’m quite familiar with Cloudflare so thought this might be the answer.
The only thing I had set differently to the suggestions was that I had RocketLoader enabled. I disabled that and Purged the cache, but still getting the same result.

I actually enabled Dev mode within Cloudflare to test this too, as there seeems to have been a lot more options added to CF since your tutorial was written, so wanted to rule it out.

Development Mode

Temporarily bypass our cache allowing you to see changes to your origin server in realtime.

Note: Enabling this feature can significantly increase origin server load. Development mode does not purge the cache so files will need to be purged after development mode expires.
This setting was last changed a few seconds ago

Unfortunately even with Dev mode enabled within CF I still couldn’t get the image to show.

I eventually found the problem though…

Again an out-of-date plug-in is responsible.

I’ll contact the developer and see if he needs to push a change, but you pointing me in the right direction helped a lot!

Thank you again,

Michael

Hello all,

Is something wrong with TagDiv Composer lately?

My site has been slow to load for 2 days now. I did a thorough check, disabled all plugins, and enabled them one by one. The pages load very fast 0.2 – 0.8s without TagDiv Composer, but the moment I enable TagDiv Composer, page loading times skyrocket to 5-20s.

Everything was fine until 2 days ago. Everything loads fast when not logged in (cached), but it slows down to a crawl when logged in (noncached).

Hi,
I have recently updated to the latest version of the Newspaper template and now the header font sizes are incorrect. The settings in the theme panel seems to be ignored. I have cleared the cache multiple times and there is no custom CSS for the headers.

Hi,
I just checked your website and it looks that the images sources can not be found https://i.imgur.com/IZd00T0.png but if you enter in that post and after that you click on logo the image sources appear https://i.imgur.com/zVPZkbF.png
Most probably this is from some options from autotomize cache or maybe from CDN ( for CDN we recommend to set it like in our guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/).
Hope this will help!

Hi,

I tested the ‘Start SEO data optimization’ on Yoast SEO and it failed. The support said it was something at my side.

My Hoster said:

The error reports that ‘js_search_filter’ function wasn’t found. I see it was called by the Theme in this file: wp-content/themes/Newsmag-child/functions.php
There were no other errors or warning in PHP or Apache log during the process.

and gave me this info:

{…}
component: "Plugin: wordpress-seo-premium"
file: "wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php"
key: "72ad45a5e822047537248a8e135cb3a8"
line: 292
message: "call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'js_search_filter' not found or invalid function name"
stack: Array(4) [ "do_action_ref_array('pre_get_posts')", "WP_Query->get_posts()", "Yoast\\W\\S\\I\\A\\Admin_Columns_Cache_Integration->fill_cache()", … ]
type: "warning"
<prototype>: Object { … }

What can I do to call the js_search_filter in the functions.php?

Thank you in advance and best regards,
Luke

Hello!

Please make sure that the theme and the plugins are up to date.
Please take a look for this advice before updating: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/action-required-please-read-how-to-update-to-the-newspaper-theme-v-10/
I recommend you to make a backup and update plugins and the theme via file transfer, so that you don’t face any error: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Please make sure that all the requirements are met as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ ; You will have to first start looking for a plugin conflict. Please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache(also from your browser) and try again.

If you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/ you’ll be able to increase the speed of your website.
Also, to increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/optimize-script-to-improve-site-speed/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-few-tips-for-newspaper-x-speed-high-cpu-usage-issues/
https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/
Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
Also, our developers are working to improve the page speed, so we hope in short time we will deliver the improvement in the future updates.

Thank you for your understanding!

NOPE, still gives me a “This site can’t be reached” error in spite of deactivating all the non Tag-Div plugins and clearing cache.

This is getting very frustrating and I am close to giving up on using the Newspaper theme.

It was fixed by my web host. In my case, there were two object cache plugins that were interfering with each other and preventing the Newspaper theme panel from saving updates properly. My web host had to fix the issue by removing the unused plugin. One of the object cache plugins was a leftover from migrating from a previous web host.

Response from my host tech support:

“I reviewed your plugin configuration and noticed that you had WP Redis and Redis Object Cache plugins both installed (but deactivated). I saw that WP Redis was throwing some PHP errors as I was interacting with the WordPress CLI. Removing WP Redis in its entirety allowed these to go away. It’s possible that WP Redis and Redis Object cache were conflicting with each other.”

Deactivating ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, caches, etc. did not resolve issue. Credentials have now been sent to you.
